What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper attempts to solve several key problems in the control of quantum systems, specifically including: 1. **Gradient - based learning methods**: Used for optimal control of quantum systems. Through the Gradient Ascent Pulse Engineering (GRAPE) algorithm or the Krotov method, search for the optimal control field that meets specific performance indicators. For example, in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) systems, these methods are used to achieve high - efficiency state transitions and high - fidelity gate operations. 2. **Evolutionary computation**: In cases where gradient information cannot be easily obtained or there are local optimal solutions, use stochastic search algorithms such as Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Differential Evolution (DE) to find good control fields. These methods have achieved remarkable success in the quantum control of molecular systems. 3. **Learning - based quantum robust control**: Design robust control strategies for various uncertainties in inhomogeneous quantum ensembles and individual quantum systems. The Sampling - based Learning Control (SLC) method is used to simultaneously stabilize individual systems with different dynamic characteristics, transferring from the initial state to the target state. 4. **Reinforcement learning**: As a model - free feedback learning method, it is used to learn approximately optimal policies during the interaction with the environment. Reinforcement learning has shown strong capabilities in the control of quantum systems, being able to find short and high - fidelity protocols, and can even work effectively in non - integrable many - body quantum systems. Overall, the paper aims to explore and apply machine - learning techniques, especially gradient - based learning, evolutionary computation, learning - based robust control, and reinforcement learning, to improve the performance and robustness of quantum - system control. These methods are not only of great theoretical significance but also show great potential in practical applications.
