Abstract:In this paper, we study the Nakano-positivity and dual-Nakano-positivity of certain adjoint vector bundles associated to ample vector bundles. As applications, we get new vanishing theorems about ample vector bundles. For example, we prove that if $E$ is an ample vector bundle over a compact K\"ahler manifold $X$, $S^kE\ts \det E$ is both Nakano-positive and dual-Nakano-positive for any $k\geq 0$. Moreover, $H^{n,q}(X,S^kE\ts \det E)=H^{q,n}(X,S^kE\ts \det E)=0$ for any $q\geq 1$. In particular, if $(E,h)$ is a Griffiths-positive vector bundle, the naturally induced Hermitian vector bundle $(S^kE\ts \det E, S^kh\ts \det h)$ is both Nakano-positive and dual-Nakano-positive for any $k\geq 0$.

Abstract:In this paper, we first establish an $L^2$-type Dolbeault isomorphism for logarithmic differential forms by Hormanderu0027s $L^2$-estimates. By using this isomorphism and the construction of smooth Hermitian metrics, we obtain a number of new vanishing theorems for sheaves of logarithmic differential forms on compact Kahler manifolds with simple normal crossing divisors, which generalize several classical vanishing theorems, including Norimatsuu0027s vanishing theorem, Gibrauu0027s vanishing theorem, Le Potieru0027s vanishing theorem and a version of the Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem.

Abstract:In this paper, we first establish an L-2-type Dolbeault isomorphism for logarithmic differential forms by Hrmander's L-2 estimates. Abstract:In this article, we get properties for singular (dual) Nakano semi-positivity and obtain singular type vanishing theorem involving $L^2$-subsheaves on weakly pseudoconvex manifolds by $L^2$-estimates and $L^2$-type Dolbeault isomorphisms. As applications, Fujita's conjecture type theorem with singular Hermitian metrics is presented.

Abstract:In this thesis, we consider geometric properties of vector bundles arising from algebraic and Hermitian geometry. On vector bundles in algebraic geometry, such as ample, nef and globally generated vector bundles, we are able to construct positive Hermitian metrics in different senses(e.g. Griffiths-positive, Nakano-positive and dual-Nakano-positive) by L2-method and deduce many new vanishing theorems for them by analytic method instead of the Le Potier-Leray spectral sequence method. On Hermitian manifolds, we find that the second Ricci curvature tensors of various metric connections are closely related to the geometry of Hermitian manifolds. We can derive various vanishing theorems for Hermitian manifolds and also for complex vector bundles over Hermitian manifolds by their second Ricci curvature tensors. We also introduce a natural geometric flow on Hermitian manifolds by using the second Ricci curvature tensor.

Abstract:Let (X, tau(1)) and (Y, tau(2)) be two Hausdorff locally convex spaces with continuous duals X, and Y', respectively, L (X, Y) be the space of all continuous linear operators from X into Y, K (X, Y) be the space of all compact operators of L (X, Y). Let WOT and UOT be the weak operator topology and uniform operator topology on K (X, Y), respectively. In this paper, we characterize a full-invariant property of K (X, Y); that is, if the sequence space X has the signed-weak gliding hump property, then each; lambda-multiplier WOT-convergent series Sigma(i) T-i in K(X, Y) must be X-multiplier convergent with respect to all topologies between WOT and UOT if and only if each continuous linear operator T: (X, tau(1)) --> or (lambda(beta), sigma(lambda(beta),lambda)) is compact. Abstract: Determination of quasi-invariant generalized functions is important for a variety of problems in representation theory, notably character theory and restriction problems. In this note, we review some new and easy-to-use techniques to show vanishing of quasi-invariant generalized functions, developed in the recent work of the authors (Uniqueness of Ginzburg-Rallis models: the Archimedean case, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 363, (2011), 2763-2802). The first two techniques involve geometric notions attached to submanifolds, which we call metrical properness and unipotent $\chi$-incompatibility. The third one is analytic in nature, and it arises from the first occurrence phenomenon in Howe correspondence. We also highlight how these techniques quickly lead to two well-known uniqueness results, on trilinear forms and Whittaker models.

Abstract:This is a short report on our new vanishing theorems for projective morphisms between complex analytic spaces. We established a complex analytic generalization of Kollár's torsion-freeness and vanishing theorem for analytic simple normal crossing pairs. Although our results may look artificial, they have already played a crucial role for the study of minimal models in the complex analytic setting.

Abstract:This paper studies the approximation of singular Hermitian metrics on vector bundles using smooth Hermitian metrics with Nakano semi-positive curvature on Zariski open sets. We show that singular Hermitian metrics capable of this approximation satisfy Nakano semi-positivity as defined through the $\overline{\partial} $-equation with optimal $L^2$-estimates. Furthermore, for a projective fibration $f \colon X \to Y$ with a line bundle $L$ on $X$, we provide a specific condition under which the Narasimhan-Simha metric on the direct image sheaf $f_{*}\mathcal{O}_{X}(K_{X/Y}+L)$ admits this approximation. As an application, we establish several vanishing theorems.

Abstract:We use the liftability of the relative Frobenius morphism of toric varieties and the strong liftability of toric varieties to prove the Bott vanishing theorem, the degeneration of the Hodge to de Rham spectral sequence and the Kawamata–Viehweg vanishing theorem for log pairs on toric varieties in positive characteristic. These results generalize those results of Danilov, Buch–Thomsen–Lauritzen–Mehta, Mustaţǎ and Fujino to the case where concerned Weil divisors are not necessarily torus invariant.
