Abstract:The geometry of submanifolds in Kähler manifolds is an important research topic. In the present paper, we study submanifolds in complex space forms admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection. We prove the Chen–Ricci inequality, Chen basic inequality, and a generalized Euler inequality for such submanifolds. These inequalities provide estimations of the mean curvature (the main extrinsic invariants) in terms of intrinsic invariants: Ricci curvature, the Chen invariant, and scalar curvature. In the proofs, we use the sectional curvature of a semi-symmetric, non-metric connection recently defined by A. Mihai and the first author, as well as its properties.

Abstract:We study the problem of finding complete conformal metrics determined by some symmetric function of the modified Schouten tensor on compact manifolds with boundary; which reduces to a Dirichlet problem. We prove the existence of the solution under some suitable conditions. In particular, we prove that every smooth compact n-dimensional manifold with boundary, with n >= 3, admits a complete Riemannian metric g whose Ricci curvature Ric(g) and scalar curvature R-g satisfydet(Ric(g) - R(g)g) = const.This result generalizes Aviles and McOwen's in the scalar curvature case.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the isolation phenomena of Einstein manifolds from the viewpoint of submanifolds theory. First, for locally strongly convex Einstein affine hyperspheres we prove a rigidity theorem and as its direct consequence we establish a unified affine differential geometric characterization of the noncompact symmetric spaces E6(-26)/F-4 and SL(m, R)/SO(m), SL(m, C)/SU(m), SU*(2m)/Sp(m) for each m >= 3. Second and analogously, for Einstein Lagrangian minimal submanifolds of the complex projective space CPn(4) with constant holomorphic sectional curvature 4, we prove a similar rigidity theorem and as its direct consequence we establish a unified differential geometric characterization of the compact symmetric spaces E-6/F-4 and SU(m)/SO(m), SU(m), SU(2m)/Sp(m) for each m >= 3.

Abstract:In this article, we delve into the study of statistical solitons on submanifolds of Kenmotsu statistical manifolds, introducing the presence of concircular vector fields. This investigation is further extended to study the behavior of almost quasi-Yamabe solitons on submanifolds with both concircular and concurrent vector fields. Concluding our research, we offer a compelling example featuring a 5-dimensional Kenmotsu statistical manifold that accommodates both a statistical soliton and an almost quasi-Yamabe soliton. This example serves to reinforce and validate the principles discussed throughout our study.

Abstract:It was proved in [8,9] that every Lagrangian submanifold $M$ of a complex space form $\tilde M^{5}(4c)$ of constant holomorphic sectional curvature $4c$ satisfies the following optimal inequality: {align}\tag{A}\delta(2,2)\leq \text{\small${25}{4}$} H^{2}+8c,{align} where $H^{2}$ is the squared mean curvature and $\delta(2,2)$ is a $\delta$-invariant on $M$ introduced by the first author. This optimal inequality improves a special case of an earlier inequality obtained in [B.-Y. Chen, Japan. J. Math. 26 (2000), 105-127]. The main purpose of this paper is to classify Lagrangian submanifolds of $\tilde M^{5}(4c)$ satisfying the equality case of the improved inequality (A).

Abstract:We study immersions of pointwise bi-slant submanifolds of locally conformal Kähler manifolds as warped products. In particular, we establish characterisation theorem for a pointwise bi-slant submanifold of a locally conformal Kähler manifold to be immersed as a warped product and show that a necessary condition is that the Lee vector field $B$ is orthogonal to the second factor and the warping function $\lambda$ satisfies $\text{grad}(\ln\lambda)=\frac{1}{2}B^T$, where $B^T$ denotes the tangential part of the Lee vector field. We also extend Chen's inequality for the squared length of the second fundamental form to our case and study the corresponding equality case.

Geometric inequalities for CR-submanifolds

Abstract:We study two kinds of curvature invariants of Riemannian manifold equip\-ped with a complex distribution $D$ (for example, a CR-submanifold of an almost Hermitian manifold) related to sets of pairwise orthogonal subspaces of the distribution. One kind of invariant is based on the mutual curvature of the subspaces and another is similar to Chen's $\delta$-invariants. We compare the mutual curvature invariants with Chen-type invariants and prove geometric inequalities with intermediate mean curvature squared for CR-submanifolds in almost Hermitian spaces. In the case of a set of complex planes, we introduce and study curvature invariants based on the concept of holomorphic bisectional curvature. As applications, we give consequences of the absence of some $D$-minimal CR-submanifolds in almost Hermitian manifolds.

Abstract:In this paper, we study non integrable distributions in a Riemannian manifold with a semi-symmetric metric connection, a semi-symmetric non-metric connection and a statistical connection. We obtain the Gauss, Codazzi, and Ricci equations for non integrable distributions with respect to the semi-symmetric metric connection, the semi-symmetric non-metric connection and the statistical connection. As applications, we obtain Chen's inequalities for non integrable distributions of real space forms endowed with a semi-symmetric metric connection and a semi-symmetric non-metric connection. We give some examples of non integrable distributions in a Riemannian manifold with affine connections. We find some new examples of Einstein distributions and distributions with constant scalar curvature.

Abstract:In real space forms, any submanifold must satisfy the so-called DDVV inequality which relates the scalar curvature, the mean curvature, and the scalar normal curvature pointwise. When the equality is attained at each point, it is called a Wintgen ideal submanifold. This property is invariant under the conformal transformations. So we try to give a complete classification of this class of submanifolds. This is done under the additional assumption of Möbius homogeneity in this paper. Some new interesting examples are constructed using the real representation of SU(2), which turn out to constitute the majority of Möbius homogeneous Wintgen ideal submanifolds. The classification follows by constructing a frame sequence. This reveals a wonderful connection with the classical harmonic sequence of Riemann surfaces.

Abstract:This article investigates the geometric and topologic of warped product submanifolds in Riemannian warped product Q ε m × R . In this respect, we obtain the first Chen inequality that involves extrinsic invariants like the length of the warping functions and the mean curvature. This inequality involves two intrinsic invariants (sectional curvature and δ -invariant). In addition, an integral bound is provided for the Bochner operator formula of compact warped product submanifolds in terms of the Ricci curvature gradient. We aim to apply this theory to many structures and obtain Dirichlet eigenvalues for problem applications. Some new results regarding the vanishing mean curvature are presented as a partial solution, and this can be considered for the well-known problem given by Chern.

Their ability to combine two distinct manifolds through a warping function introduces a rich and diverse set of geometries, thus making them a powerful tool in various mathematical, physical, and computational applications. This article addresses the central query related to warped product submanifolds in the context of statistics. It focuses on deriving two new and distinct inequalities for a statistical warped product submanifold in a statistical manifold of a constant (quasi-constant) curvature. This article then finishes with some concluding remarks.
