Abstract:In this paper, we establish a structure theorem for connected graded Hopf algebras over a field of characteristic 0 by claiming the existence of a family of homogeneous generators and a total order on the index set that satisfy some desirable conditions. The approach to the structure theorem is constructive, based on the combinatorial properties of Lyndon words and the standard bracketing on words. As a surprising consequence of the structure theorem, we show that connected graded Hopf algebras of finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension over a field of characteristic 0 are all iterated Hopf Ore extensions of the base field. In addition, some keystone facts of connected Hopf algebras over a field of characteristic 0 are observed as corollaries of the structure theorem, without the assumptions of having finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension (or affineness) on Hopf algebras or of that the base field is algebraically closed.

Abstract:Let M be a k-vector space and R is an element of Hom(M-circle timesp, M-circle timesq), we present a general version of,the FRT-construction, we provide a method for examining whether an FRT-bialgebra A(R) has-a pre-braided structure and whether M can be regarded as an A(R)-dimodule. We show that the FRT-relation plays a fundamental role in determining the algebra structure on the FRT-bialgebra and the compatibility condition of relevant dimodule. As an example, we give a Hopf algebra approach for solving both homogeneous and non-homogeneous nonlinear (algebraic) equations.

Abstract:Let H be a Hopf algebra over a base field. If H has an ℕ-filtration such that the associated graded ring is connected graded noetherian and has enough normal elements, then H is Gorenstein. This gives a partial solution to a question of Brown and Brown-Goodearl. As a consequence, every quotient Hopf algebra of a generic quantized coordinate ring of a connected semisimple Lie group is Auslander-Gorenstein and Cohen-Macaulay. The last statement answers a question of Goodearl-Zhang.

Abstract:We present a rich source of Hopf algebras starting from a cofinite central extension of a Noetherian Hopf algebra and a subgroup of the algebraic group of characters of the central Hopf subalgebra. The construction is transparent from a Tannakian perspective. We determine when the new Hopf algebras are co-Frobenius, or cosemisimple, or Noetherian, or regular, or have finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension.

Abstract:We develop a general theory of Hopf image of a Hopf algebra representation, with the associated concept of inner faithful representation, modelled on the notion of faithful representation of a discrete group. We study several examples, including group algebras, enveloping algebras of Lie algebras, pointed Hopf algebras, function algebras, twistings and cotwistings, and we present a Tannaka duality formulation of the notion of Hopf image.

Abstract:Since the Connes--Kreimer Hopf algebra was proposed, revisiting present quantum field theory has become meaningful and important from algebraic points. In this paper, the Hopf algebra in the cutting rules is constructed. Its coproduct contains all necessary ingredients for the cutting equation crucial to proving perturbative unitarity of the S-matrix. Its antipode is compatible with the causality principle. It is obtained by reducing the Hopf algebra in the largest time equation which reflects partitions of the vertex set of a given Feynman diagram. First of all, the Connes--Kreimer Hopf algebra in the BPHZ renormalization instead of the dimensional regularization and the minimal subtraction is described so that the strategy of setting up Hopf algebraic structures of Feynman diagrams becomes clear.

Abstract:Let k be an algebraically closed field. The main goal of this paper is to classify the finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras over k of finite corepresentation type. To do so, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for a basic Hopf algebra over k to be of finite representation type firstly. Explicitly, we prove that a basic Hopf algebra over k is of finite representation type if and only if it is Nakayama. By this conclusion, we classify all finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras over k of finite corepresentation type.

Abstract:We analyze the conductance of the quantum point contact containing large localized spin J. The additional plateau is formed on a ballistic conductance staircase if only one propagating channel is rendered conducting. The conductance value at this plateau is shown to depend strongly on J and decrease from 3e^2/2h to e^2/h when J increases from 1/2 to infinity, which is in a good agreement with the experimental observations [D.J. Reilly, et al, Phys. Rev. B 63, 121311 (2001)].

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to use Clifford monoids to define weak Hopf quivers and to construct the corresponding class of weak Hopf algebras, i.e., the semilattice of graded weak Hopf algebras which were found to be useful in obtaining a regular R-matrix of a quantum double without a quasi-triangular structure. We define weak Hopf quivers and classify the semilattice of graded weak Hopf algebra structures over path coalgebras using weak Hopf quivers. This gives, precisely, a generalization of the classification of the graded weak Hopf algebra structures over path coalgebras using such quivers.

Abstract:The Hopf algebra and the Rota-Baxter algebra are the two algebraic structures underlying the algebraic approach of Connes and Kreimer to renormalization of perturbative quantum field theory. In particular, the Hopf algebra of rooted trees serves as the “baby model” of Feynman graphs in their approach and can be characterized by certain universal properties involving a Hochschild 1-cocycle. Decorated rooted trees have also been applied to study Feynman graphs. We will continue the study of universal properties of various spaces of decorated rooted trees with such a 1-cocycle, leading to the concept of a cocycle Hopf algebra. We further apply the universal properties to equip a free Rota-Baxter algebra with the structure of a cocycle Hopf algebra.

Abstract:Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$. For a loop $\circlearrowleft$, denote its path coalgebra by $k\circlearrowleft$. In this paper, all the finite-dimensional commutative Hopf algebras over the sub coalgebras of $k\circlearrowleft$ are given. As a direct consequence, all the commutative infinitesimal groups $\mathcal{G}$ with dim$_{k}$Lie$(\mathcal{G})=1$ are classified.

Abstract:The theory of weak Hopf algebras is a development of the theory of Hopf algebras, which is important in the theory of quantum groups and the related theory of mathematical physics. In this paper, we give a survey of this theory and its applications.Firstly, we review some concepts related to weak Hopf algebras and their relationship and moreover, some algebraical structures. Secondly, we collect the generalizations of quantum double, i.e. quantum quasi-double and quantum G-double, constructed from some certain weak Hopf algebras so as to obtain a class of singular solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation (QYBE). Their properties are also introduced in this part. Thirdly, as the important examples of weak Hopf algebras, some weaken quantized enveloping algebra are given which are associated with some generalizations of Lie algebra, such as generalized Kac-Moody algebra, Borcherds superalgebras. Moreover, their algebraic structures are discussed such that one can understand them clearly. Finally, some generalized notions of tensor category are introduced including pre-tensor category and weak tensor category and their braidings. They can be realized respectively from the categories of representations of the related classes of weak Hopf algebras and their quantum quasi-doubles. As the categorical version of a (singular) solutions of the QYBE, a general Yang-Baxter operator is studied. In summary, we list the diagrams of relations among these kinds of categories.

Abstract:In this article groups of controlled characters of a combinatorial Hopf algebra are considered from the perspective of infinite-dimensional Lie theory. A character is controlled in our sense if it satisfies certain growth bounds, e.g.\ exponential growth. We study these characters for combinatorial Hopf algebras. Following Loday and Ronco, a combinatorial Hopf algebra is a graded and connected Hopf algebra which is a polynomial algebra with an explicit choice of basis (usually identified with combinatorial objects such as trees, graphs, etc.). If the growth bounds and the Hopf algebra are compatible we prove that the controlled characters form infinite-dimensional Lie groups. Further, we identify the Lie algebra and establish regularity results (in the sense of Milnor) for these Lie groups. The general construction principle exhibited here enables to treat a broad class of examples from physics, numerical analysis and control theory. Groups of controlled characters appear in renormalisation of quantum field theories, numerical analysis and control theory in the guise of groups of locally convergent power series. The results presented here, generalise the construction of the (tame) Butcher group, aka the controlled character group of the Butcher-Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra.

Abstract:We study the structure of the category of graded, connected, countable-dimensional, commutative and cocommutative Hopf algebras over a perfect field $k$ of characteristic $p$. Every $p$-torsion object in this category is uniquely a direct sum of explicitly given indecomposables. This gives rise to a similar classification of not necessarily $p$-torsion objects that are either free as commutative algebras or cofree as cocommutative coalgebras. We also completely classify those objects that are indecomposable modulo $p$.

Abstract:Using the formalism of species and twisted objects, we introduce two structures of cointeracting bialgebras on hypergraphs, induced by two notions of induced sub-hypergraphs. We study the associated unique morphisms of cointeracting bialgebras from hypergraphs to the polynomial algebra in one indeterminate: in the first case, this gives the chromatic polynomial of a graph attached to the considered hypergraph. In the second case, we obtained Helgason's notion of chromatic polynomial of a hypergraph. We obtain Hopf-algebraic proves of results about the values of this chromatic polynomial in -1 or about its coefficients, with the help of the action of a monoid of characters. This allows to give multiplicity-free formulas for the antipodes of these objects, using various notions of acyclic orientations of hypergraphs. Mixing the two notions of induced sub-hypergraphs, we obtain a third Hopf algebra, firstly described by Aguiar and Ardila. We obtain negative results on the existence of a second coproduct making it a cointeracting bialgebra. Anyway, it is still possible to obtain a polynomial invariant from this structure, which is the chomatic polynomial described by Aval, Kharagbossian and Tanasa. We nally study Iovanov and Jaiung's Hopf algebra of multi-complexes, making it a cointeracting bialgebra which has for quotient one of the preceding cointeracting bialgebras of hypergraphs.

Finitely $C^\infty$-generated associative and Hopf algebras

Abstract:We introduce finitely $C^\infty$-generated algebras, which can be treated as `algebras of functions' on non-commutative $C^\infty$-differentiable spaces. Our approach is based on the category of algebras that are projective limits of real Banach algebras of polynomial growth. We prove the existence of some universal constructions in this and some similar categories. By analogy with holomorphically finitely generated algebras of Pirkovskii, a finitely $C^\infty$-generated algebra is defined as a quotient of a finite-rank algebra of `free $C^\infty$-functions'. The latter notion was introduced in a previous article of the author. We prove in a full generality a structure result for `free $C^\infty$-functions', which was announced in that article and proved in dimension at most $2$. The central result asserts that the projective tensor product of a finite tuple of finitely $C^\infty$-generated algebras is finitely $C^\infty$-generated. In particular, this makes it natural to consider $C^\infty$-finitely generated topological Hopf algebras. Furthermore, a construction called `envelope' provides a functor from the category of affine real Hopf algebras to the category of $C^\infty$-finitely generated Hopf algebras.
