Analytical solutions for Navier-Stokes equations with $ψ$-Caputo fractional derivative

Abstract:This work aims to use the homotopy analysis method to obtain analytical solutions of linear time-fractional Navier-Stokes equations with cylindrical coordinates and of a system of nonlinear time-fractional Navier-Stokes equations with Cartesian coordinates. These equations are described in the $\psi$-Caputo time-fractional derivative. The solutions obtained for time-fractional Navier-Stokes equations are graphically presented.

Specifically, the paper focuses on two special cases: 1. **One - dimensional unsteady viscous fluid motion in a pipe**: - Considered the form of the time - fractional - order Navier - Stokes equation in cylindrical coordinate system, that is: \[ {}_C^{\psi}D_t^{\alpha} u = P+\nu \left( \frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial r^2}+\frac{1}{r}\frac{\partial u}{\partial r} \right), \quad 0 < \alpha < 1 \] - The initial condition is: \[ u(r, 0)=f(r) \] 2. **Two - dimensional nonlinear system of incompressible fluid flow**: - Considered a nonlinear time - fractional - order Navier - Stokes equations system that describes two - dimensional incompressible fluid flow, that is: \[ \begin{cases} {}_C^{\psi}D_t^{\alpha} u + u\frac{\partial u}{\partial x}+v\frac{\partial u}{\partial y}=\rho_0 \left( \frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial x^2}+\frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial y^2} \right)-\frac{1}{\rho}\frac{\partial p}{\partial x}, \\ {}_C^{\psi}D_t^{\alpha} v + u\frac{\partial v}{\partial x}+v\frac{\partial v}{\partial y}=\rho_0 \left( \frac{\partial^2 v}{\partial x^2}+\frac{\partial^2 v}{\partial y^2} \right)-\frac{1}{\rho}\frac{\partial p}{\partial y}, \quad 0 < \alpha < 1 \end{cases} \] - The initial condition is: \[ u(x, y, a)=f(x, y), \quad v(x, y, a)=h(x, y) \] Through these studies, the paper aims to obtain the analytical solutions of these equations and show the obtained solutions graphically. This helps to understand the application of fractional - order derivatives in fluid mechanics, especially for non - integer - order differential equations that describe complex fluid behaviors.
