Abstract:Generative AI is a class of machine learning technology that learns to generate new data from training data. While deep fakes and media-and art-related generative AI breakthroughs have recently caught people's attention and imagination, the overall area is in its infancy for business use. Further, little is known about generative AI's potential for malicious misuse at large scale. Using co-creation design fictions with AI engineers, we explore the plausibility and severity of business misuse cases.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?

This paper attempts to explore potential malicious use cases of generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) in the business field. Although generative AI has made remarkable progress in areas such as deep fakes, media, and art and has attracted public attention, its potential in business applications is still in its infancy. Moreover, very little is known about the potential risks of large - scale malicious use of generative AI. Therefore, through cooperation with AI engineers and using the method of design fiction, the paper explores the possibility and severity of malicious use of generative AI in business.

Specifically, the main objectives of the paper include:
1. **Explore commercial malicious use cases of generative AI**: Through the method of design fiction, several hypothetical malicious use scenarios are constructed to understand how these technologies might be misused.
2. **Evaluate the feasibility and severity of malicious use cases**: Cooperate with AI experts to evaluate the practical feasibility of these fictional cases and their possible social impacts.
3. **Propose preventive measures**: Based on the opinions of experts, discuss how to prevent or mitigate these potential malicious uses.

Through these objectives, the paper hopes to provide references for future research and policy - making to better manage and regulate the application of generative AI technology.
