Abstract:We study linear relations among correlation functions on a lattice obtained from integration-by-parts identities. We use the framework of twisted cocycles and determine for a scalar theory a basis of correlation functions, in which all other correlation functions may be expressed.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper aims to study the linear relationships among correlation functions on the lattice, which originate from integration - by - parts identities. Specifically, the author uses the framework of twisted cocycles to determine the basis of correlation functions in scalar theories, so that all other correlation functions can be linearly represented by elements in this basis. This method is not only applicable to the calculation of Feynman integrals, but also extended to the study of non - perturbative correlation functions on the lattice. ### Main problems solved in the paper: 1. **Determination of linear relationships**: Find the linear relationships among correlation functions on the lattice through integration - by - parts identities. 2. **Construction of the basis**: Determine the dimension and basis of correlation functions in scalar theories within the framework of twisted cocycles. 3. **Efficient reduction method**: Propose an effective method to reduce any twisted cocycle form to a linear combination of basis forms. ### Specific content: - **Definition of twisted cocycles**: Introduce the concept of twisted cocycles and apply it to integration problems on the lattice. Define the function \(u\), 1 - form \(\omega\) and N - form \(\Phi\), and reformulate the lattice integral through these quantities. - **Linear algebra and integration - by - parts identities**: Use integration - by - parts identities to derive the linear relationships among correlation functions. These relationships can be used to express complex integrals as linear combinations of simpler "master integrals". - **Construction of the basis**: For scalar theories, determine the dimension and basis of the twisted cocycle group. For example, in the \(\phi^3\) theory, the dimension is \(2N\), and in the \(\phi^4\) theory, the dimension is \(3N\). - **Reduction algorithm**: Propose an algorithm to reduce any N - form \(\Phi\) to a linear combination of basis forms. This algorithm gradually reduces the power of the field by repeatedly applying integration - by - parts identities, and finally obtains a linear combination of master integrals. ### Application examples: - **Mass - less \(\phi^4\) theory**: Show how to reduce an integral of a high - power field (such as \(\hat{\phi}^4\)) to a linear combination of integrals of low - power fields. - **Integrals at multiple field points**: Consider the case of multiple field points and show how to reduce complex multi - point integrals to linear combinations of master integrals. ### Conclusion: Through the framework of twisted cocycles, the author successfully determines the linear relationships among correlation functions in scalar theories on the lattice and provides an efficient method to reduce any correlation function to a linear combination of basis forms. This method is not only applicable to scalar theories, but also is expected to be extended to the study of more complex Yang - Mills theory.
