Abstract:We consider the problem of multilayer graphene on a Haldane sphere and determine the Landau level spectrum for this family of systems. This serves as a generalization of the Landau quantization problem of ordinary non-relativistic Haldane sphere and spherical graphene, or Dirac-like particles on a sphere. The Hamiltonian is diagonalized in a concise algebraic fashion exploiting two mutually commuting SU(2) algebras of the problem. Additionally, using exact wave functions we demonstrate computation of Haldane pseudopotentials in the second Landau level. These exact solutions add to the current toolkits of the numerical studies on fractional quantum Hall effects in systems of graphite multilayers.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is the Landau quantization problem of multilayer graphene on the Haldane sphere. Specifically, the author aims to determine the Landau level spectrum of multilayer graphene in this geometric structure and generalizes the Landau quantization problems of ordinary non - relativistic Haldane spheres and spherical graphene. In addition, the author also calculates the Haldane pseudopotential in the second Landau level using the exact wave function. The following are the main contributions of this paper: 1. **Determination of Landau Level Spectrum**: The author diagonalizes the Hamiltonian in a concise algebraic way by introducing two mutually commuting SU(2) algebras. For ABC - stacked (rhombohedral) multilayer graphene, in the tight - binding limit, the energy spectrum is: \[ \varepsilon_{JQn}=\pm\Delta\sqrt{\prod_{k = 1}^{J}(n - k + 1)\left(1+\frac{n + k}{2Q}\right)} \] where \(\Delta\) is an energy scale depending on specific microscopic parameters, \(Q\) is the charge of the magnetic monopole, \(n\) is the Landau level index, and \(J\) is the number of layers. 2. **Calculation of Haldane Pseudopotential**: Using the exact wave function, the author shows how to calculate the Haldane pseudopotential in the second Landau level. These exact solutions provide new tools for numerical studies of the fractional quantum Hall effect. 3. **Combination of Theory and Experiment**: The research is not only of algebraic interest but also closely related to experimental results. For example, the integer quantum Hall effect in bilayer and trilayer graphene has been found in experiments, and non - trivial fractional quantum Hall states have also been reported to exist in the zero - level, first - level, and even higher Landau levels. 4. **Application Prospects**: Through these exact solutions, researchers can better understand the exotic fractional quantum Hall states in multilayer graphene systems and provide valuable tools for constructing trial wave functions. In summary, this paper solves the Landau quantization problem of multilayer graphene on the Haldane sphere through rigorous mathematical derivations and physical analyses, providing an important foundation for future theoretical and experimental research.
