Abstract:In order to solve the problem of flexible sliding tactile composite sensing in the actual grasp of intelligent robot fingers, this paper proposes a research on a convex fiber grating tactile sliding sensor based on mechanical fingers. Based on the sensing principle of fiber Bragg grating, 3D printing technology was used to encapsulate the FBG sensor array with elastic 50 A resin, a double-layer "hemispherical cuboid" distributed sensing unit was designed, and the FBG slippery tactile sensor was actually pasted on the surface of the mechanical finger for static and dynamic experiments. The experimental results show that the slippery tactile sensor designed in this paper has a good linear relationship with temperature and strain. The temperature sensitivities of the polymer-packaged FBGs are KT1 = 13.04 pm/°C and KT2 = 12.91 pm/°C, and they have a pressure sensitivity of 40.4 pm/N and 31.2 pm/N, respectively. The FBG sliding tactile sensor not only realizes the identification of the sliding signal generation point and the end point but also completes the classification and identification of sandpaper, cardboard, and polypropylene plastic, and it has a high degree of fit with the robot finger, which has certain application value for the intelligent robot sliding tactile signal perception.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to achieve flexible sliding - tactile compound perception during the actual grasping process of intelligent robot fingers. Specifically, the paper proposes a study on a convex fiber - grating tactile - sliding sensor based on mechanical fingers. By using the sensing principle of fiber Bragg grating (FBG), combining 3D printing technology to package the FBG sensor array, and designing a double - layer "hemisphere - cuboid" distributed sensing unit, finally the FBG sliding - tactile sensor is actually pasted on the surface of the mechanical finger for static and dynamic experiments. The research aims to improve the linear response of the sensor to temperature and strain, realize the identification of the generation and end points of the sliding signal, and complete the classification and identification of materials such as sandpaper, cardboard and polypropylene plastics, thereby enhancing the intelligent perception ability of robot fingers. ### Main Research Contents and Results 1. **Sensor Design and Packaging** - Using elastic 50A resin as the packaging material not only protects the fiber grating but also increases the sensitivity and flexibility of the sensing element. - A double - layer "hemisphere - cuboid" structure is designed and accurately packaged by 3D printing technology. 2. **Experimental Verification** - The results of static contact and sliding experiments show that the designed sliding - tactile sensor has a good linear relationship with temperature and strain. - The temperature sensitivities are \( K_{T1} = 13.04 \, \text{pm/°C} \) and \( K_{T2} = 12.91 \, \text{pm/°C} \) respectively, and the pressure sensitivities are 40.4 pm/N and 31.2 pm/N respectively. - The sensor can effectively identify the generation and end points of the sliding signal and can distinguish different materials (such as sandpaper, cardboard and polypropylene plastics). 3. **Performance Evaluation** - The sensor performs excellently in terms of repeatability and anti - creep, and the central wavelength shift is controlled within 10 pm. - By analyzing the change in the central wavelength during the sliding process, the start and end time points of the sliding and the friction characteristics of different materials can be accurately identified. ### Conclusion The convex fiber - grating tactile - sliding sensor proposed in the paper not only realizes high - precision detection of the sliding signal but also has a good linear relationship and high sensitivity. The application of this sensor on robot fingers has important research and application values, especially in the aspect of intelligent robot sliding - tactile signal perception.
