Abstract:Dear editor, I have read with great interest the paper entitled 'Predictive effect of estimated glomerular filtrate rate by creatinine or cystatin C on mortality in patients with coronary artery disease' by Chen et al. [ Citation 1 ]. Although reduced estimated glomerular filtrate rate based on creatinine (eGFR-cr) and cystatin C (eGFRcr-cys) has highest predictive effect for cardiovascular and all-cause mortality among coronary artery disease (CAD) patients, supra-normal eGFR-cr may also indicate a higher risk of mortality.
