Abstract:Statement of problem: Resin-bonded prostheses, including interim resin-bonded prostheses, are effective in preserving tooth structure compared with other types of fixed dental prostheses for the replacement of missing teeth. However, loss of retention remains a notable concern with these types of prostheses. Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate the influence of glass-ceramic type, resin type, and surface finish on the shear bond strength (SBS) to the CAD-CAM ceramics used to fabricate interim resin-bonded prostheses. Material and methods: Eighty 10×2-mm glass-ceramic disks were fabricated by using a diamond saw (IsoMet 1000), 40 from feldspathic porcelain blocks (Vita Mark II) and 40 from lithium disilicate blocks (IPS e.max CAD). Half of the specimens in each group were left with a dull or matte surface finish after cutting, while the other half were glazed with an add-on glaze (VitaAkzento Plus Glaze Spray and IPS e.max CAD Glaze Spray, respectively). The disks were mounted in acrylic resin, and each group was subdivided into 2, with 1 receiving a photopolymerized resin cement (RelyX Veneer) and the other receiving a flowable composite resin (Filtek Supreme Ultimate Flow) to form 2.38×2-mm cylinders. SBS was determined using a universal testing machine (Instron 4411) in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 29022:2013 standard, and failure modes were analyzed by using a stereomicroscope with ×40 magnification. The data were analyzed with a 3-way analysis of variance and Tukey post hoc analysis. The chi-squared test was used to analyze the failure mode (α=.05 for all tests). Results: Ceramic type, resin type, and surface finish significantly impacted SBS (P<.001, P=.003, P<.001, respectively). Lithium disilicate showed higher SBS than feldspathic porcelain, and flowable composite resin exhibited higher SBS than resin cement. Glazed surfaces displayed lower SBS compared with the dull or matte surfaces. The combinations among the 3 materials also impacted SBS (P=.03). In addition, the combinations between ceramic type and surface finish affected SBS (P<.001), regardless of resin cement type. No other combinations affected the SBS (P>.05). The mode of failure was different among the groups (P<.001). In comparison with all other groups, cohesive failures were most prevalent in feldspathic porcelain with a dull or matte surface finish, regardless of the resin type used. Conclusions: The SBS to glass-ceramics was influenced by ceramic material, resin cement type, and surface finish. Flowable composite resin showed higher SBS than resin cement. A dull or matte surface finish exhibited greater bond strength than a glazed surface. Lithium disilicate had higher SBS than feldspathic porcelain.
Improving the bonding stability between resin cements and zirconia-based ceramic using different surface treatments

Abstract:Purpose: To evaluate the effects of airborne-particle abrasion with alumina particles or silicamodified alumina particles on the bond strength between zirconia and conventional MDP-based (Ph; Panavia F 2.0, Kuraray) or self-adhesive (SA; RelyX U200, 3M ESPE) resin cements. Materials and methods: Five surface treatments were evaluated: C = no surface treatment; AB = airborne-particle abrasion with alumina particles (BIO-ART Dental Supplies and Equipment); ABP = AB combined with MDP-based primer (Alloy Primer, Kuraray); SS = airborne-particle abrasion with silica-modified alumina particles (CoJet, 3M ESPE) combined with silane (RelyX Ceramic Primer, 3M ESPE); and SSP = SS combined with MDP-based primer. The surface roughness (Ra) of the airborne particle-abraded samples (n = 5) was measured by a contact profilometer (Mitutoyo Surftest SJ-401, Mitutoyo). Cylinders of the resin cements tested were bonded to the surface-treated zirconia. The microshear test was performed by the application of a load with a wire loop parallel to the adhesive interface until debonding of the resin cement cylinders. The microshear bond strength (μSBS) of the samples was measured before and after being subjected to thermocycling (TC; 5°C to 55°C, 60 seconds dwell time for 3,000 cycles; MSCT, Marcelo Nucci). One-way (Ra) and two-way (μSBS) analysis of variance followed by Tukey post hoc test (α = .05) were used. Results: The SS (Ph: 12.6 MPa; Ph-TC: 6.37 MPa; SA: 11.8 MPa; SA-TC: 9.37) and SSP (Ph: 10.4 MPa; Ph-TC: 5.82 MPa; SA: 10.4 MPa; SA-TC: 10.0) surface treatments produced the highest surface roughness values (P < .001). The SS samples achieved the highest immediate bond strength for both resin cements. However, after TC, SA resin cement associated with any surface treatment produced the highest bond strength values. Conclusion: The self-adhesive resin cement promoted higher and more stable bond strength values when associated with a surface roughening method.

Effect of Different Surface Treatment Methods on the Shear Bond Strength of Resin Composite/Zirconia for Intra-oral Repair of Zirconia Restorations

Abstract:Objective: A durable resin/zirconia bond is essential for successful intra-oral repair of zirconia restorations. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of two mechanical treatments followed by seven chemical treatments on the shear bond strength (SBS) of composite resin to zirconia. Materials and methods: In this in vitro study, 280 zirconia blocks (Y-TZP) were either air-abraded or bur roughened and divided into seven experimental groups (n = 20) in terms of primer/resin application: 1) ZPP, Z-Prime Plus; 2) ZPP + GP, Z-Prime Plus followed by G-premio bond; 3) ZPP + ALB, Z-Prime Plus followed by All Bond Universal; 4) ZPP + CLRF, Z-Prime Plus followed by Clearfil SE Bond; 5)GP, G-Premio Bond 6) ALB, All Bond Universal; and 7) CLRF, Clearfil SE Bond. After composite bonding and storage in distilled water (24 hours), half of each group specimen (n = 10) were thermocycled. All specimens were subjected to shear force. Statistical analysis was performed using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test (α = 0.05). Results: Significant reduction in SBS was observed in all groups after thermocycling(p < 0.05), except for the air-abraded ZPP + CLRF (p = 0.143). After aging, air-abraded CLRF exhibited the highest SBS (13.55 ± 7.8 MPa) and bur roughened ZPP showed the lowest SBS (1.16 ± 1.23 MPa). In the aged specimens, there was a significant difference between air abrasion and bur roughening in all groups (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Air-abrasion followed by application of adhesive (with/without prior primer application) is the most efficient technique for repair of veneered zirconia restorations with resin composite.
Effect of Different Surface Treatments and Orthodontic Bracket Type on Shear Bond Strength of High-Translucent Zirconia: An In Vitro Study

Abstract:Objective. Considering the increasing number of adults seeking orthodontic treatment, and the possible need for bracket bonding to monolithic zirconia restorations, knowledge about the preferred type of bracket (metal/ceramic) and the most efficient surface treatment is imperative to achieve acceptable shear bond strength (SBS). This study aimed to assess the effect of different surface treatments and orthodontic bracket types on SBS of high-translucent zirconia. Materials and Methods. Totally, 248 disc-shaped zirconia specimens were assigned to two groups for bonding to metal and ceramic brackets. Each group was divided into four subgroups (n = 31) for the following surface treatments: no surface treatment (control group), airborne-particle abrasion (APA), tribochemical silica coating with CoJet, and CO2 laser irradiation. The mean surface roughness (Ra value) was measured. The SBS was measured after bracket bonding and thermocycling. Data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA, Tukey, Kruskal–Wallis, Mann–Whitney, and Fisher exact tests, and Bonferroni correction ( α = 0. 05 ). Results. The mean Ra value was significantly different among the surface treatment subgroups ( P < 0.001 ). The APA and CoJet subgroups were not significantly different regarding Ra ( P = 0.754 ). All other pairwise comparisons yielded significant differences ( P < 0.001 ). Bracket type, surface treatment, and their interaction significantly affected the SBS ( P < 0.001 ). Ceramic brackets bonded to zirconia surfaces treated with CoJet yielded the maximum SBS while ceramic brackets bonded to control and lased surfaces resulted in minimum SBS. No significant difference was noted in the SBS of different surface treatment groups when metal brackets were used ( P > 0.05 ). Conclusions. The use of ceramic brackets and CoJet surface treatment would be the most appropriate combination to achieve optimal bonding to high-translucent zirconia restorations.
Identification and phylogenetic analysis of filamentous Cyanobacteria using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) fingerprinting

Abstract:RAPD techniques were used for the detection of genetic heterogeneticity among the axenic culture of fresh water cyanobacterial isolates. The electrophoretic patterns for 12 cyanobacterial strains belonging to 2 genera (8 Oscillatoria strains and 4 Lyngbya strains) were used for molecular analysis using the RAPD technique. A total of 12 cyanobacterial isolates were selected and mass cultured in BG11 medium. Genomic DNA was extracted from fresh water cyanobacterial isolates and was amplified using primers D7, M13, OPC11, OPC12, OPC13, OPC14 and OPC15 and distinct PCR fingerprint were generated. Unique banding patterns were observed from all tested cyanobacterial species and their molecular weights of each band were used to calculate their genetic distance among them. Random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) was carried out for the phylogenetic characterization of these strains. RAPD fingerprinting results clearly showed the genetic variation among the cyanobacterial isolates.

Abstract:We present the absolute frequency measurement of the transition 1S<inf>0</inf> – 3P<inf>0</inf> at 578 nm in ytterbium 171 realized in an optical lattice frequency standard relative to the cryogenic caesium fountain ITCsF2. The measurement result is 518 295 836 590 863.59(31) Hz with a relative standard uncertainty of 5.9 × 10−16. A contribution of 1.6 × 10−16 is coming from the ytterbium clock and we are working to reduce this contribution to the 1 × 10−17 level.
Composite Resin Bond Strength to Zirconia and Base Metal Alloys Using Two Types of Intraoral Porcelain Repair Systems

Abstract:Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the shear bond strength (SBS) of two repair composites (Crea.lign vs. PermaFlo) to a base metal alloy and zirconia ceramic. Materials and Methods: Sixty-four discs (12mm diameter, 1mm thickness) were fabricated using Wirobond base metal alloy and zirconia. They were then bonded with their respective composite resins (N=16) in each of the two porcelain chipping repair kit subgroups consisting of PermaFlo and Crea.lign. All specimens were stored in 37°C distilled water for 24 hours. Half of them were subjected to 10,000 thermal cycles (5-55°C, 30s). All specimens were tested for SBS with a universal testing machine. Failure types were analyzed using a digital camera. Analysis of the data was done by two-way ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc tests. Results: SBS was significantly affected by the type of composite resin. PermaFlo had a significantly higher SBS than Crea.lign to base metal alloy (P<0.001) and zirconia ceramic (P<0.001). Thermocycling decreased the SBS of both composites to base metal alloy (P<0.001) and zirconia (P<0.001). Conclusion: A universal adhesive could provide higher shear bond strength of zirconia and base metal alloy to composite resin than Crea.lign composite and the MKZ primer supplied by its manufacturer.

Abstract:This study was designed to evaluate the effect of different treatments on the zirconia/resin shear bond strength (SBS) using commercial one-bottle universal adhesive. Zirconia discs with different surface treatments (blank control; airborne-particle-abrasion; glazing) were bonded to the bovine enamel surfaces using one-bottle universal adhesive. All specimens were tested for SBS (MPa) before and after 10000 thermocycles. Statistically analysis were conducted by using one-way analysis of variance and multiple-comparison least significant difference tests (alpha = 0.05). Airborne-particle-abrasion group showed higher SBS (36.19 +/- 11.86) than control group (14.98 +/- 5.90) and glazing group (10.63 +/- 5.39) (p < 0.05). After thermocycling test, the SBS significantly decreased for control group (8.84 +/- 2.55) and glazing group (6.18 +/- 2.78) while not for airborne-particle-abrasion group (41.5 +/- 7.95). One-bottle universal adhesives combined with airborne-particle-abrasion showed quite high SBS of zirconia/resin, which was appropriate for bonding of zirconia restoration.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE The present study was aimed to assess the ability of tone recognition performance for postlingually deafed cochlear implanted adults using no-duration tone test materials. METHOD Sixteen cochlear implanted users have used their devices at least six months. Ten monosyllabic syllables were selected, and combined with four lexical tones which were made up of 40 tone tokens. Then, these original words were recorded using one adult male and one adult female native Beijing Mandarin speaker. The speakers were asked to record these 40 monosyllabic words multiple times, and the 80 tokens in which the durations of four tones in each monosyllabic word were within 5 ms precision were chosen as the original tone tokens. The subjects were asked to perform a four alternative forced-choice study and select the tone they had heard. RESULT The mean score of lexical tone perception tasks for 16 cochlear implanted users is (70.7 ± 22.0)%, and Tone 4 was the easiest to perceive, while Tone 2 was the hardest for cochlear implanted subjects to perceive. Tone 1 was more often misperceived as Tone 2 relative to other tones. Tone 2 was more often misperceived as Tone 1 and 3. Tone 3 was more often misperceived as Tone 2. The tone perception performance was positively correlated with duration of hearing aid use. CONCLUSION Duration cues may impact on the ability of tone recognition performance for cochlear implant subjects, especially for tone 3. Due to the limited ability for cochlear implant subjects on pitch perception, tone l and tone 2, and tone 2 and tone 3 are most often confused with each other without duration cues. The experience of hearing aid use may benefit for postlingual deafness cochlear implant recipients on tone perception performance.

Abstract:Background Hybrid ceramics bonding with the dentinal substrate is crucial for clinical success and longevity. To enhance adhesion, the surface of ceramic restorations is modified through various conditioning techniques Aim Effect of Different Surface Conditioners Erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (ER: YAG) laser and Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) activated Methylene blue (MB) on the surface roughness (Ra) and shear bond strength (SBS) of Polymer infiltrating ceramic network (PICN) discs bonded using different viscosity resin cement before and after thermal aging. Material and Methods One hundred and fifty human central incisors and one hundred and fifty-three PICN discs were prepared. PICN discs were randomly allocated into three groups based on the surface conditioning(n=51) Group 1:10% HF acid-S, Group 2: LLLT (MB), and Group 3: Er: YAG laser. Following conditioning Ra scores of ten samples were performed. Surface topography of samples was performed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Bonding of forty PICN discs from each conditioning group was performed with high (A) or low viscosity (B) dual-curing resin cement (n= 20 each). Each subgroup was divided into two cohorts and subjected to varying storage conditions. The SBS test and failure mode analysis were performed using a universal testing machine and stereomicroscope. Descriptive statistics of SBS and Ra for each group were analyzed using ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests. HF acid-S attained the highest Ra scores. Results Group 1A (HF-S+HIGH) samples achieved the highest SBS values at baseline. Group 3A, on the other hand, displayed the lowest bond score (Er: YAG laser+HIGH) after thermal aging Intergroup comparison analysis at baseline unveiled that Group 1A and Group 1B (HF(S) + LOW) displayed no significant difference in their bond strength scores (p>0.05). Following artificial aging, it was observed that Group 2A (LLLT (MB) + HIGH) and Group 3A (Er:YAG laser + HIGH) ) presented comparable SBS(p>0.05). Thermal aging decreased SBS significantly in all groups. PICN conditioned with HF-S results in high surface roughness. Conclusion PICN conditioned with HF acid with silane and bonded with low-viscosity resin cement to the dentinal substrate is preferable. Aging influences SBS.

Abstract:Background/purpose: The bond strength and durability of highly translucent zirconia ceramics to dentin is still unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of various surface treatments on the bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements to high-translucent zirconia crowns and dentin.Materials and methods: A high-transparent zirconia and three self-adhesive resin cements (G-CEM LinkAce (GCL), RelyX U200 (RXU) and TotalCem (TTC)) were used. The zirconia surface was sandblasted with 50 μm alumina particles or coated with an SR Link primer, while a dentin primer (Tetric N-Bond Universal, TBU) was applied to the surface of the dentin. By using three self-adhesive resin cements, zirconia samples were bonded to the dentin surfaces of human teeth. The shear strength of the specimens was measured before and after 10,000-cycle thermocycling or 90-day aging.Results: When using GCL to bond with the untreated dentin and various zirconia surfaces, the shear bond strength of the sandblasted (ZSB) and RS Link primer-coated (ZLK) groups was significantly higher than that of the untreated control group (Zc). However, in the case of TBU-treated dentin, the shear strength of the ZSB + LK + DTBU group was significantly higher than that of the other groups. After thermocycling and aging, the shear strength of the ZSB + LK + DTBU group using GCL and RXU cements decreased slightly, while the TTC showed no impact.Conclusion: The zirconia surface pretreated by sandblasting and bonding agent, which was sequentially bonded with a primer-treated dentin by using resin cements, can provide excellent shear bond strength and anti-aging performance.

Abstract:Objective To compare the bond durability of five self-adhesive resin cements to polished and sandblasted zirconia ceramic.Methods Zirconia ceramic samples were sintered and polished.Half of polished ceramic samples were sandblasted with 50 μm alumina particles.The roughness of polished and sandblasted zirconia ceramic surface was measured by 3D-laser scanning microscope.The polished and sandblasted ceramic samples were bonded to composite cylinders with either Biscem(BC),G-Cem(GC),RelyX U100(RU),Multilink Speed(MS) or Maxcem(MC).The samples divided into two subgroups to receive respectively shear test after 0 and 10 000 time thermal cycles.The data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA test and independent sample t test.Results Air abrasion significantly increased Ra of zirconia ceramic surface(P<0.001).Thermocycling decreased significantly the bond strengths of all test groups(P<0.001),in which polished specimens bonded with MS had significantly higher bond strength than those bonded with either BC,GC,RU,or MC(P<0.001),and air abrasion significantly increased the bond strength of BC,GC,RU and MC,whereas the bond strength of MS was not significantly affected by air abrasion.Conclusion The bond durability of different self-adhesive resin cements to zirconia ceramic has significant differences,and their bond durability was not completely influenced by air abrasion of ceramic surface.

Abstract:Due to its unique properties, zirconia is increasingly being used in dentistry, but surface preparation for bonding is difficult because of its polycrystalline structure. This study aimed to determine the effect of a new etching technique (Zircos-E) on Ceramill Zi (Amann Girrbach). The effect of etching and the use of primers (Monobond Plus and MKZ Primer) on the bond strength of zirconia with resin cement (NX3) was assessed. Shear bond strength was evaluated after storage in water for 24 h and after thermal aging (5000 thermocycling at 5 °C/55 °C). A scanning electron microscope (Hitachi S-4700) was used to evaluate the surface structure before and after the Zircos-E system. The roughness parameters were assessed using an SJ-410 profilometer. The etched zirconia surface is more homogeneous over the entire surface, but some localized forms of erosion exist. The etching of zirconia ceramics caused changes in the surface structure of zirconia and a significant increase in the shear bond strength between zirconia and resin cement. The use of primers positively affects the adhesion between resin cement and zirconia. Aging with thermocycler significantly reduced the shear bond strength, with one exception—sandblasted samples with MKZ Primer. Standard ceramic surface preparation, involving only alumina sandblasting, does not provide a satisfactory bond. The use of etching with the Zircos-E system and primers had a positive effect on the strength of the zirconium–resin cement connection.

METHODS:Machined zirconia ceramic discs were cemented with four kinds of core material (cobalt-chromium alloy, flowable composite resin core material, packable composite resin, and dentin) with two self-adhesive resin cements (Clearfil SA Luting and RelyX U100). All specimens were divided into eight test groups, and each test group was divided into two subgroups. Each subgroup was subjected to shear test before and after 10 000 thermal cycles. RESULTS:All factors (core materials, cements, and thermal cycle) significantly influenced bond durability of zirconia ceramic (P<0.00 1). After 10 000 thermal cycles, significant decrease was not observed in shear bond strength of cobalt-chromium alloy luted with Clearfil SA Luting (P>0.05); observed shear bond strength was significantly higher than those of other substrates (P<0.05). Significantly higher shear bond strength was noted in Clearfil SA Luting luted with cobalt-chromium alloy, flowable composite resin core material, and packable composite resin than that of RelyX U100 (P<0.05). However, significant difference was not observed in shear bond strength of dentin luted with Clearfil SA Luting and RelyX U100 (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Different core materials and self-adhesive resin cements can significantly affect bond durability of zirconia ceramic. .

Abstract:Background Additive manufacturing is increasingly being utilized for dental restorations, but debonding remains a common issue with zirconia restorations. In particular, there is limited research on the bonding properties between additively manufactured (AM) zirconia and resin cement. Aim This study aimed to evaluate and compare the shear bond strength (SBS) of resin to milled and AM zirconia, and to investigate the effect of different surface treatments. Material and methods Milled and AM zirconia specimens were subjected to various surface treatment methods: wet-polished group (M-W&A(W)), where milled or AM zirconia was wet-polished with no additional treatment; primer group (M-P&A(P)), where wet-polished zirconia was treated with primer; glass spray group (M-G&A(G)), where wet-polished zirconia was coated with glass; and the bare group (A(B)), consisting of unpolished AM zirconia with preserved surface texture. Shear bond strength, surface roughness, morphology, and elemental distribution were analyzed using a universal mechanical testing machine, laser scanning microscope, scanning electron microscope, and micro X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, respectively. Results The untreated groups showed the lowest SBS values (M-W=6.82 +/- 2.35 MPa, A(W)=10.86 +/- 3.79 MPa), while the highest SBS values were observed in the glass coating groups (M-G=23.06 +/- 3.86 MPa, A(G)=25.96 +/- 5.60 MPa). There was no significant difference in SBS between milled and AM zirconia with the same surface treatment. Additionally, the bare AM zirconia group exhibited slightly higher SBS than that of the wet-polished AM zirconia group. Conclusions Surface treatments significantly enhance the shear bond strength between AM zirconia and resin, achieving bond strength levels comparable to those of milled zirconia. In addition, the unique surface textures of AM zirconia, enabled by its design and manufacturing flexibility, hold potential to further enhance bond properties.
SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION INCREASES INTESTINAL PERMEABILITY DURING EXPERIMENTAL HUMAN ENDOTOXEMIA

Abstract:Although the gut is often considered the motor of sepsis, the relation between systemic inflammation and intestinal permeability in humans is not clear. We analyzed intestinal permeability during experimental endotoxemia in humans. Before and during experimental endotoxemia (Escherichia coli LPS, 2 ng/kg), using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a permeability marker, intestinal permeability was analyzed in 14 healthy subjects. Enterocyte damage was determined by intestinal fatty acid binding protein. Endotoxemia induced an inflammatory response. Urinary PEGs 1,500 and 4,000 recovery increased from 38.8 ± 6.3 to 63.1 ± 12.5 and from 0.58 ± 0.31 to 3.11 ± 0.93 mg, respectively (P < 0.05). Intestinal fatty acid binding protein excretion was not affected by endotoxemia. The peak serum IL-10 concentrations correlated with the increase in PEG 1,500 recovery (r = 0.48, P = 0.027). Systemic inflammation results in an increased intestinal permeability. The increase in intestinal permeability is most likely caused by inflammation-induced paracellular permeability, rather than ischemia-mediated enterocyte damage.
Microshear bond strength of resin bonding systems to machinable ceramic with different surface treatments.

Abstract:Purpose: The bond strength and bond durability of two high-viscosity dual-curing resin luting agents with different surface treatments of ceramic were investigated. Materials and Methods: GN-I machinable ceramic surfaces were treated with 37% phosphoric acid for 30 s (PA), 5% hydrofluoric acid for 5 s (HF-5), 10 s (HF-10), or 30 s (HF-30), or blasting with 50-mu m Al2O3 for 10 s (AB). The roughness of the ceramic surface was measured. Treated ceramic surfaces were bonded with three resin bonding systems (RBS): Ceramic Primer/LinkmaxHV (CP/LMHV), Monobond S/VariolinkIIHV (MBS/VLIIHV), or MBS/Heliobond/VLIIHV (MBS/HB/VLIIHV). A microshear test was used to measure the bond strength after 24 h (TC 0) and subsequent thermocycling (TC 10,000 at 4 degrees C and 60 degrees C). ANOVA was performed for statistical analysis, with significance set at p < 0.05. Results: For three RBSs, bond strength at TC 0 was not affected, regardless of ceramic surface treatment (p > 0.05). All combined groups of ceramic surface treatment and resin bonding system decreased after 10,000 thermal cycles, especially groups treated with alumina blasting and bonded with each of three RBSs (p < 0.05). MBS/HB/VLIIHV with each surface treatment did not improve the bond strength and durability compared with MBS/VLIIHV. Conclusion: CP/LMHV and MBS/VLIIHV obtained sufficient bond strength and bond durability to GN-I machinable ceramic by only cleaning with PA; the application of HB may not be necessary.

Abstract:We study the application of the augmented Lagrangian method to the solution of linear ill-posed problems. Previously, linear convergence rates with respect to the Bregman distance have been derived under the classical assumption of a standard source condition. Using the method of variational inequalities, we extend these results in this paper to convergence rates of lower order, both for the case of an a priori parameter choice and an a posteriori choice based on Morozov’s discrepancy principle. In addition, our approach allows the derivation of convergence rates with respect to distance measures different from the Bregman distance. As a particular application, we consider sparsity promoting regularization, where we derive a range of convergence rates with respect to the norm under the assumption of restricted injectivity in conjunction with generalized source conditions of Hölder type.
