Abstract:We study and classify Artin-Schelter regular algebras of dimension five with two generators under an additional Z(2)-grading by Hilbert driven Grobner basis computations. All the algebras we obtained are strongly noetherian, Auslander regular, and Cohen-Macaulay. One of the results provides an answer to Floystad-Vatne's question in the context of Z(2)-grading. Our results also achieve a connection between Lyndon words and Artin-Schelter regular algebras. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:We prove that 5-Engel Lie algebras over a field of characteristic zero, or over a field of prime characteristic $p>7$, are nilpotent of class at most 11. We also prove that if $G$ is a finite 5-Engel $p$-group for $p>7$ then $G$ is nilpotent of class at most 10.

Abstract:In my article 5-Engel algebras published on the arXiv in 2023 I proved that 5-Engel Lie algebras of characteristic zero or prime characteristic $p>7$ are nilpotent of class at most 11. In this note I investigate the ideal ID$(x)$ generated by an element $x$ in a 5-Engel Lie algebra. In characteristic 2 and 3 this ideal does not have to be nilpotent. For all primes $p>3$ I show that Id$(x)$ is nilpotent in 5-Engel Lie algebras of characteristic $p$, and I obtain explicit (best possible) bounds on the nilpotency class.

Abstract:The occurrence of stable decagonal quasicrystalline phase in Al-Co-Ni and Al-Cu-Co alloys through conventional solidification is well established. Earlier, we have studied the effect of Cu substitution in place of Co in the Al70 Co15Ni15 alloy. Here we report the structural/micro-structural changes with substitution of Cu for Ni in rapidly solidified Al-Co-Ni alloys. The melt-spun ribbons have been characterized using X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM & TEM). With an increase in Cu content in the melt spun Al70 Co15Cux Ni15-x (x=0 to 15) alloys, the relative amount of the decagonal phase decreased up to 10 at% of Cu. At this composition the quaternary alloy showed the coexistence of decagonal quasicrystal and superstructure of tau 3 vacancy ordered crystalline phases. The decagonal phase containing Cu showed more disordering compared to Al-Co-Ni alloys. The implication of the structural / microstructural changes due to Cu substitution in stable decagonal quasicrystal will be discussed

Our method of classification is based on the standard method of classification of central extensions of smaller nilpotent commutative algebras and the recently obtained classification of complex $5$-dimensional nilpotent commutative $\mathfrak{CD}$-algebras.

Abstract:We study the universal enveloping algebras of the one-parameter family of solvable 5-dimensional non-Lie Malcev algebras. We explicitly determine the universal nonassociative enveloping algebras (in the sense of Perez-Izquierdo and Shestakov) and the centers of the universal enveloping algebras. We also determine the universal alternative enveloping algebras.

Abstract:We define a derivation on the enhanced nilHecke algebra yielding a p-dg algebra when working over a field of characteristic p. We define functors on the category of p-dg modules resulting in an action of small quantum sl2 on the Grothendieck group, which is isomorphic to a baby Verma module. We upgrade the derivation into an action of the Lie algebra sl(2).

Abstract:Very recently, Maurice Chayet and Skip Garibaldi have introduced a class of commutative non-associative algebras, for each simple linear algebraic group over an arbitrary field (with some minor restriction on the characteristic). In a previous paper, we gave an explicit description of these algebras for groups of type $G_2$ and $F_4$ in terms of the octonion algebras and the Albert algebras, respectively. In this paper, we attempt a similar approach for type $E_6$.

Abstract:It is well known that an equivalence relation is invariant under the basic operations of an algebra if and only if it is invariant under the unary polynomials of the algebra. We show that a higher arity version of this property holds for a higher dimensional analogue of an equivalence relation. It follows that the hypercommutator of arity $n$ for an algebra is determined by its $n$-ary polynomials. We construct examples to show that this fails for every arity of the term condition higher commutator.

Abstract:We construct an additive basis for a relatively free alternative algebra of Lie-nilpotent degree 5, describe the associative center and core of this algebra, and find the T-generators of the full center. Also, we give some asymptotic estimate for the codimension of the T-ideal generated by a commutator of degree 5 in a free alternative algebra, and find a finite-dimensional superalgebra that generates the variety of alternative algebras with the Lie-nilpotency of the selfadjoint operator of degree 5.

Abstract:Leibniz superalgebras with nilindex $n + m$ and characteristic sequence $(n-1, 1 \ | \ m)$ divided into four parametric classes that contain a set of non-isomorphic superalgebras. In this paper, we give a complete classification of solvable Leibniz superalgebras whose nilradical is a nilpotent Leibniz superalgebra with nilindex $n + m$ and characteristic sequence $(n-1, 1 \ | \ m)$. We obtain a condition for the value of parameters of the classes of such nilpotent superalgebras for which they have a solvable extension. Moreover, the classification of solvable Leibniz superalgebras whose nilradical is a Lie superalgebra with the maximal nilindex is given.

Abstract:We classify connected étale algebras in (possibly non-unitary) modular fusion categories $\mathcal B$'s with $\text{rank}(\mathcal B)\le5$. We also comment on Lagrangian algebra, anyon condensation, and physical applications. Concretely, we prove certain spontaneous $\mathcal B$-symmetry breaking and predict ground state degeneracies in massive renormalization group flows from non-unitary minimal models.

Nilpotency indices for quantum Schubert cell algebras

Abstract:We study quantum analogs of $\operatorname{ad}$-nilpotency and Engel identities in quantum Schubert cell algebras ${\mathcal U}_q^+[w]$. For each pair of Lusztig root vectors, $X_\mu$ and $X_\lambda$, in ${\mathcal U}_q^+[w]$, where $w$ belongs to a finite Weyl group $W$ and $\mu$ precedes $\lambda$ with respect to a convex order on the roots in $\Delta_+ \cap w(\Delta_-)$, we find the smallest natural number $k$, called the nilpotency index, so that $\left(\operatorname{ad}_q X_\mu \right)^k$ sends $X_\lambda$ to $0$, where $\operatorname{ad}_q X_\mu$ is the $q$-adjoint map. We start by observing that every pair of Lusztig root vectors can be naturally associated to a triple $(u, i, j)$, where $u \in W$ and $i$ and $j$ are indices such that $\ell(s_i u s_j) = \ell(u) - 2$. In light of this, we define an equivalence relation, based upon the weak left and weak right Bruhat orders, on the set of such triples. We show this equivalence relation respects nilpotency indices, and that each equivalence class contains an element of the form $(v, r, s)$, where $v$ is either (1) a bigrassmannian element satisfying a certain orthogonality condition, or (2) the longest element of some subgroup of $W$ generated by two simple reflections. For each such $(v, r, s)$, we compute the associated nilpotency index.
