Abstract:We show that for every finite set of prime numbers , there are at most finitely many singular moduli that are -units. The key new ingredient is that for every prime number , singular moduli are -adically disperse. We prove analogous results for the Weber modular functions, the -invariants and the McKay–Thompson series associated with the elements of the monster group. Finally, we also obtain that a modular function that specializes to infinitely many algebraic units at quadratic imaginary numbers must be a weak modular unit.

Abstract:The weak geometric P=W conjecture of L. Katzarkov, A. Noll, P. Pandit, and C. Simpson states that, a smooth Betti moduli space of complex dimension $d$ over a punctured Riemann surface has the dual boundary complex homotopy equivalent to a sphere of dimension $d-1$. Via a microlocal geometric perspective, we verify this conjecture for a class of rank $n$ wild character varieties over the two-sphere with one puncture, associated with any Stokes Legendrian link defined by an $n$-strand positive braid.

Abstract:Let p be normal singularity of the 2-dimensional Stein space V. Let pi : M -> V be a minimal good resolution of V, such that the irreducible components A(i) of A = pi(-1)(p) are nonsingular and have only normal crossings. Associated to A is weighted dual graph Gamma which, along with the genera of the A(i), fully describes the topology and differentiable structure of A and the topological and differentiable nature of the embedding of A in M. It is well known that the simplest Gorenstein non-complete intersection singularities of dimension two are exactly those minimal elliptic singularities with fundamental cycle self intersection number -5. In this paper we classify all weighted dual graphs of these singularities. In particular, we prove that there is no integral homology link structure in the class of simplest Gorenstein non-complete intersection singularities of dimension two.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a series of new invariants for singularities. A new conjecture about the non-existence of negative weight derivations of the new k-th singular locus moduli algebras for weighted homogeneous isolated hypersurface singularities is proposed. Abstract:This work presents a range of triangulated characterizations for important classes of singularities such as derived splinters, rational singularities, and Du Bois singularities. An invariant called 'level' in a triangulated category can be used to measure the failure of a variety to have a prescribed singularity type. We provide explicit computations of this invariant for reduced Nagata schemes of Krull dimension one and for affine cones over smooth projective hypersurfaces. Furthermore, these computations are utilized to produce upper bounds for Rouquier dimension on the respective bounded derived categories.

Abstract:We introduce the Hodge moduli algebras and Hodge moduli sequence associated with an isolated hypersurface singularity. These are new subtle invariants of singularities. We propose several characterization conjectures by using of these invariants. We investigate structural properties and numerical invariants of Hodge ideals naturally associated with isolated hypersurface singularities. In particular, we establish that the analytic isomorphisms class of an isolated two dimensional rational hypersurface singularities is determined by the Hodge moduli algebras and Hodge moduli sequence. As a result, we prove that Hodge moduli algebra together with the geometric genus give complete characterization of such singularities. In the proof, we concretely compute the Hodge ideals and the associated Hodge moduli algebras of these singularities.

Abstract:In this note we propose the generalization of the notion of a holomorphic contact structure on a manifold (smooth variety) to varieties with rational singularities and prove basic properties of such objects. Natural examples of singular contact varieties come from the theory of nilpotent orbits: every projectivization of the closure of a nilpotent orbit in a semisimple Lie algebra satisfies our definition after normalization. We show the correspondence between symplectic varieties with the structure of a $\mathbb{C}^*$-bundle and the contact ones along with the existence of the stratification à la Kaledin. In the projective case we demonstrate the equivalence between crepant and contact resolutions of singularities, show the uniruledness and give a full classification of projective contact varieties in dimension 3.

Abstract:In the present note we study combinatorial and algebraic properties of cubic-line arrangements in the complex projective plane admitting nodes, ordinary triple and $A_{5}$ singular points. We deliver a Hirzebruch-type inequality for such arrangement and we study the freeness of such arrangements providing an almost complete classification.

Abstract:In the paper "Algebraic classification of rational CR structures on topological 5-sphere with transversal holomorphic S^1-action in C^4" (Yau and Yu, Math. Nachrichten 246-247(2002), 207-233), we give algebraic classification of rational CR structures on the topological 5-sphere with transversal holomorphic S^1-action in C^4. Here, algebraic classification of compact strongly pseudoconvex CR manifolds X means classification up to algebraic equivalence, i.e. roughly up to isomorphism of the normalization of the complex analytic variety V which has X as boundary. The problem is intimately related to the study of 3-dimensional isolated rational weighted homogeneous hypersurface singularities with link homeomorphic to S^5. For this, we need the classification of 3-dimensional isolated rational hypersurface singularities with a C*-action. This list is only available at the homepage of one of us. Since there is a desire for a complete list of this classification (cf. Theorem 3.3), we decide to publish it for the convenience of readers.

Abstract:For any complex reductive group $G$ and any compact Riemann surface with genus $g>1$, we show that every connected component of the associated character variety has symplectic singularities, and has terminal singularities unless $g=2$ and the Dynkin diagram of $G$ contains an $A_1$-component. We also show that the identity component is $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial. The singularities caused by irreducible local systems with automorphism groups larger than the centre of $G$ are controlled by elliptic endoscopy.

Unimodality and certain bivariate formal Laurent series

Abstract:In this paper, we examine the unimodality and strict unimodality of certain formal bivariate Laurent series with non-negative coefficients. We show that the sets of these formal bivariate Laurent series form commutative semirings under the operations of addition and multiplication of formal Laurent series. This result is used to establish the unimodality of sequences involving Gauss polynomials and certain refined color partitions. In particular, we solve an open problem posed by Andrews on the unimodality of generalized Gauss polynomials and establish an unimodal result for a statistic of plane partitions. We also establish many unimodal results for rank statistics in partition theory, including the rank statistics of concave and convex compositions studied by Andrews, as well as certain unimodal sequences studied by Kim-Lim-Lovejoy. Additionally, we establish the unimodality of the Betti numbers and Gromov-Witten invariants of certain Hilbert schemes of points.

Abstract:We introduce a categorical analogue of Saito’s notion of primitive forms. For the category $\textsf{MF}(\frac{1}{n+1}x^{n+1})$ of matrix factorizations of $\frac{1}{n+1}x^{n+1}$, we prove that there exists a unique, up to non-zero constant, categorical primitive form. The corresponding genus zero categorical Gromov–Witten invariants of $\textsf{MF}(\frac{1}{n+1}x^{n+1})$ are shown to match with the invariants defined through unfolding of singularities of $\frac{1}{n+1}x^{n+1}$.

Abstract:We prove using jet schemes that the zero loci of the moment maps for the quivers with one vertex and at least two loops have rational singularities. This implies that the spaces of representations of the fundamental group of a compact Riemann surface of genus at least two have rational singularities. This has consequences for the representation zeta function of the special linear group over the integers and over the p-adic integers.

Moduli Spaces of Marked Branched Projective Structures on Surfaces

Abstract:We show that the moduli space of marked branched projective structures of genus g and branching degree n is a complex analytic space. In the case g > 1 we show that this moduli space is of dimension 6 g - 6 + n and we characterize its singular points in terms of their monodromy. We introduce a notion of branching class, that is an infinitesimal description of branched projective structures at the branched points. We show that the space of marked branching classes of genus g and branching degree n is a complex manifold. We show that if n < 2g-2 the space of branched projective structures is an affine bundle over the space of branching classes, while if n > 4g-4 the former is an analytic subspace of the latter.
