Abstract:In this paper, we obtain a series of regularity results for viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear elliptic equations with oblique derivative boundary conditions. In particular, we derive the pointwise C α, C 1,α and C 2,α regularity. As byproducts, we also prove the A–B–P maximum principle, Harnack inequality, uniqueness and solvability of the equations.

Abstract:In this work, we establish universal moduli of continuity for viscosity solutions to fully nonlinear elliptic equations with oblique boundary conditions, whose general model is given by $$ \left\{ \begin{array}{rcl} F(D^2u,x) &=& f(x) \quad \mbox{in} \,\, \Omega\\ \beta(x) \cdot Du(x) + \gamma(x) \, u(x)&=& g(x) \quad \mbox{on} \,\, \partial \Omega. \end{array} \right. $$ Such regularity estimates are achieved by exploring the integrability properties of $f$ based on different scenarios, making a $\text{VMO}$ assumption on the coefficients of $F$, and by considering suitable smoothness properties on the boundary data $\beta, \gamma$ and $g$. Particularly, we derive sharp estimates for borderline cases where $f \in L^n(\Omega)$ and $f\in p-\textrm{BMO}(\Omega)$. Additionally, for source terms in $L^p(\Omega)$, for $p \in (n, \infty)$, we obtain sharp gradient estimates. Finally, we also address Schauder-type estimates for convex/concave operators and suitable H\"{o}lder data.

Abstract:This paper investigates the relation between the boundary geometricproperties and the boundary regularity of the solutions of elliptic equations.We prove by a new unified method the pointwise boundary Hölder regularityunder proper geometric conditions. "Unified" means that our method isapplicable for the Laplace equation, linear elliptic equations in divergenceand non-divergence form, fully nonlinear elliptic equations, the p-Laplaceequations and the fractional Laplace equations etc. In addition, thesegeometric conditions are quite general. Abstract:This paper establishes sharp local regularity estimates for viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear parabolic free boundary problems with singular absorption terms. The main difficulties are due to the blow-up of the source along the free boundary and the lack of a variational structure. The proof combines the power of the Ishii-Lions method with intrinsically parabolic oscillation estimates. The results are new, even for second-order linear operators in nondivergence form.

Abstract:We prove boundary regularity and a compactness result for parabolic nonlocal equations of the form $u_t-Iu=f$, where the operator $I$ is not necessarily translation invariant. As a consequence of this and the regularity results for translation invariant case, we obtain $C^{1,\alpha}$ interior estimates in space for non translation invariant operators under some hypothesis on the time regularity of the boundary data.

Abstract:We study the regularity of the viscosity solution to the fully nonlinear parabolic thin obstacle problem. In particular, we prove that the solution is local H1+α on each side of the smooth obstacle, for some small α > 0. Following the method which was first introduced for the harmonic case by Caffarelli in 1979, we extend the results of FernándezReal (2016) who treated the fully nonlinear elliptic case. Our results also extend those of Chatzigeorgiou (2019) in two ways. First, we do not assume solutions nor operators to be symmetric. Second, our estimates are local, in the sense that do not rely on the boundary data.

Abstract:We provide a sharp $C^{1,\alpha}$ estimate up to the boundary for a viscosity solution of a degenerate fully nonlinear elliptic equation with the oblique boundary condition on a $C^1$ domain. To this end, we first obtain a uniform boundary H{ö}lder estimate with the oblique boundary condition in an "almost $C^1$-flat" domain for the equations which is uniformly elliptic only where the gradient is far from some point, and then we establish a desired $C^{1,\alpha}$ regularity based on perturbation and compactness arguments.

Boundary regularity for a general nonlinear parabolic equation in non-divergence form

Abstract:We characterize regular boundary points in terms of a barrier family for a general form of a parabolic equation that generalizes both the standard parabolic $p$-Laplace equation and the normalized version arising from stochastic game theory. Using this result we prove geometric conditions that ensure regularity by constructing suitable barrier families. We also prove that when $q<2$, a single barrier does not suffice to guarantee regularity.

Abstract:Recently much work has been devoted to periodic-parabolic equations with linear homogeneous boundary conditions. However, very little has been accomplished in the literature for periodic-parabolic problems with nonlinear boundary conditions. It is the purpose of this paper to prove existence and regularity results for (classical) periodic solutions to semilinear second order parabolic partial differential equations with nonlinear boundary conditions provided ordered upper and lower solutions are given. Fractional order function spaces, Ehrling–Gagliardo–Nirenberg and Lions–Peetre–Calderón type interpolation inequalities for functions in (anisotropic) Sobolev–Slobodeckii spaces play an important role in the obtainment ofa prioriboundary and interior estimates. In proving our existence results we make use of topological degree techniques and regularity results for linear parabolic partial differential equations under linear nonhomogeneous boundary conditions. We also indicate how one can obtain minimal and maximal time-periodic solutions to parabolic problems with nonlinear boundary conditions.

Abstract:In this preprint we consider fully nonlinear equations in thin domains with oblique boundary condition, finding some new phenomena, in particular the limit equation contains "new terms" of the second, first and zeroth order which don't have an equivalent in the Neumann case treated in our previous work <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2404.19577" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2404.19577">arXiv:2404.19577</a>. The classical laplacian problem with Neumann boundary condition, goes back to the well known result of Hale and Raugel (1992).

Abstract:In the present paper, we establish sharp Sobolev estimates for solutions of fully nonlinear parabolic equations, under minimal, asymptotic, assumptions on the governing operator. In particular, we prove that solutions are in Wloc2,1;p$$W^{2,1;p}_{ loc }$$. Our argument unfolds by importing improved regularity from a limiting configuration. In this concrete case, we recur to the recession function associated with F. This machinery allows us to impose conditions solely on the original operator at the infinity of S(d)$$\mathcal {S}(d)$$. From a heuristic viewpoint, integral regularity would be set by the behavior of F at the ends of that space. Moreover, we explore a number of consequences of our findings, and develop some related results; these include a parabolic version of Escauriaza’s exponent, a universal modulus of continuity for the solutions and estimates in p-BMO spaces.

Elliptic regularization of some semilinear parabolic free boundary problems

Abstract:We prove existence of strong solutions to a family of some semilinear parabolic free boundary problems by means of elliptic regularization. Existence of solutions is obtained in two steps: we first show some uniform energy estimates and then we pass to the weak limit. To carry out this second step, we establish uniform non-degeneracy estimates for the approximating sequence as well as parabolic non-degeneracy and optimal regularity for the limit solution. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the elliptic regularization approach is used in the context of parabolic obstacle problems.

Abstract:We investigate the regularity of the solutions for a class of degenerate/singular fully nonlinear nonlocal equations. In the degenerate scenario, we establish that there exists at least one viscosity solution of class C l o c 1 , α , for some constant α ∈ ( 0 , 1 ) . In addition, under suitable conditions on degree of the operator σ, we prove regularity estimates in Hölder spaces for any viscosity solution. We also examine the singular setting and prove Hölder regularity estimates for the gradient of the solutions.
