Abstract:Living Hydrogels When embedded inside 3D‐printed hydrogels, cells from the eukaryotic microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii grow in clusters predominantly located in the hydrogel periphery, where they benefit from increased gas exchange and access to light. CO2 capture efficiency increases proportionally with the exposed surface area of the living hydrogels. These findings, presented by Kunal Masania, Marie‐Eve Aubin‐Tam, and co‐workers in article number 2305505 provide design parameters for the development of highly efficient 3D photosynthetic living materials.
