Abstract:In this paper, we analyze disjoint distributionally chaotic abstract non-degenerate partial differential equations in Fr\' echet spaces, with integer or Caputo time-fractional derivatives. We present several illustrative examples and applications of our results established.

Abstract:There is much research on the dynamical complexity on irregular sets and level sets of ergodic average from the perspective of density in base space, the Hausdorff dimension, Lebesgue positive measure, positive or full topological entropy (and topological pressure), etc. However, this is not the case from the viewpoint of chaos. There are many results on the relationship of positive topological entropy and various chaos. However, positive topological entropy does not imply a strong version of chaos, called DC1. Therefore, it is non-trivial to study DC1 on irregular sets and level sets. In this paper, we will show that, for dynamical systems with specification properties, there exist uncountable DC1-scrambled subsets in irregular sets and level sets. Meanwhile, we prove that several recurrent level sets of points with different recurrent frequency have uncountable DC1-scrambled subsets. The major argument in proving the above results is that there exists uncountable DC1-scrambled subsets in saturated sets.

Abstract:In a fractional Cauchy problem, the usual first order time derivative is replaced by a fractional derivative. The fractional derivative models time delays in a diffusion process. The order of the fractional derivative can be distributed over the unit interval, to model a mixture of delay sources. In this paper, we provide explicit strong solutions and stochastic analogues for distributed-order fractional Cauchy problems on bounded domains with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Stochastic solutions are constructed using a non-Markovian time change of a killed Markov process generated by a uniformly elliptic second order space derivative operator.

Poincaré chaos and unpredictable functions

Abstract:The results of this study are continuation of the research of Poincaré chaos initiated in papers (Akhmet M, Fen MO. Commun Nonlinear Sci Numer Simulat 2016;40:1-5; Akhmet M, Fen MO. Turk J Math, doi:<a class="link-https link-external" data-doi="10.3906/mat-1603-51" href="https://doi.org/10.3906/mat-1603-51" rel="external noopener nofollow">https://doi.org/10.3906/mat-1603-51</a>, accepted). We focus on the construction of an unpredictable function, continuous on the real axis. As auxiliary results, unpredictable orbits for the symbolic dynamics and the logistic map are obtained. By shaping the unpredictable function as well as Poisson function we have performed the first step in the development of the theory of unpredictable solutions for differential and discrete equations. The results are preliminary ones for deep analysis of chaos existence in differential and hybrid systems. Illustrative examples concerning unpredictable solutions of differential equations are provided.

Abstract:In discrete dynamical system $(X, f)$ where $X$ is a topological space and $f \in C(X,X)$, three notions of distributional chaos were defined. They were denoted by $DC1, DC2$ and $DC3$. For interval systems such three notions coincide and they will be denoted by DC-chaos. Generally speaking we have $DC1 \subseteq DC2 \subseteq DC3$-chaos. We wonder if it is possible that chaos can concentrate in some points and develop a local idea of the distributional chaos. Answering to this question, in [12] is introduced the new notion of $DCi$-points for $i = 1,2,3$. Such special points are those in which DC-chaos of different types concentrate. Also in [12] it is proved that if $f$ is continuous interval map with positive topological entropy, then there is at least one DC1-point in the system. In this paper it is proved that in the symbolic space $(\Sigma, \sigma) $ where $\sigma$ is the shift map, every point of $\Sigma$ is a DC1-point. This result is necessary to prove one of the main results of the paper. If $h(f) > 0 $ for an interval system, then it has an uncountable set of DC1-points and moreover the set can be chosen perfect. In greater dimensions than one, we deal with triangular systems on $I^{2}$. In this case the relationship between topological entropy and different cases of distributional chaos is not clearly understood and several different results are possible. In the paper we use an example of $F$ given by Kolyada in [9] to prove that the corresponding two dimensional system $(I^{2}, F)$ has positive topological entropy but without containing DC2-points, proving that there is no concentration of DC2-chaos

Abstract:Motivated by the modeling of three-dimensional fluid turbulence, we define and study a class of stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) that are randomly stirred by a spatially smooth and uncorrelated in time forcing term. To reproduce the fractional, and more specifically multifractal, regularity nature of fully developed turbulence, these dynamical evolutions incorporate an homogenous pseudo-differential linear operator of degree 0 that takes care of transferring energy that is injected at large scales in the system, towards smaller scales according to a cascading mechanism. In the simplest situation which concerns the development of fractional regularity in a linear and Gaussian framework, we derive explicit predictions for the statistical behaviors of the solution at finite and infinite time. Doing so, we realize a cascading transfer of energy using linear, although non local, interactions. These evolutions can be seen as a stochastic version of recently proposed systems of forced waves intended to model the regime of weak wave turbulence in stratified and rotational flows. To include multifractal, i.e. intermittent, corrections to this picture, we get some inspiration from the Gaussian multiplicative chaos, which is known to be multifractal, to motivate the introduction of an additional quadratic interaction in these dynamical evolutions. Because the theoretical analysis of the obtained class of nonlinear SPDEs is much more demanding, we perform numerical simulations and observe the non-Gaussian and in particular skewed nature of their solution.

Abstract:The work in this paper is four-fold. Firstly, we introduce an alternative approach to solve fractional ordinary differential equations as an expected value of a random time process. Using the latter, we present an interesting numerical approach based on Monte Carlo integration to simulate solutions of fractional ordinary and partial differential equations. Thirdly, we show that this approach allows us to find the fundamental solutions for fractional partial differential equations (PDEs), in which the fractional derivative in time is in the Caputo sense and the fractional in space one is in the Riesz-Feller sense. Lastly, using Riccati equation, we study families of fractional PDEs with variable coefficients which allow explicit solutions. Those solutions connect Lie symmetries to fractional PDEs.

Strongly Distributional Chaos of Irregular Orbits That Are Not Uniformly Hyperbolic.

Abstract:In this article we prove that for a diffeomorphism on a compact Riemannian manifold, if there is a nontrival homoclinic class that is not uniformly hyperbolic or the diffeomorphism is a $C^{1+\alpha}$ and there is a hyperbolic ergodic measure whose support is not uniformly hyperbolic, then we find a type of strongly distributional chaos which is stronger than usual distributional chaos and Li-Yorke chaos in the set of irregular orbits that are not uniformly hyperbolic. Meanwhile, we prove that various fractal sets are strongly distributional chaotic, such as irregular sets, level sets, several recurrent level sets of points with different recurrent frequency, and some intersections of these fractal sets. In the process of proof, we give an abstract general mechanism to study strongly distributional chaos provided that the system has a sequence of nondecreasing invariant compact subsets such that every subsystem has exponential specification property, or has exponential shadowing property and transitivity. The advantage of this abstract framework is that it is not only applicable in systems with specification property including transitive Anosov diffeomorphisms, mixing expanding maps, mixing subshifts of finite type and mixing sofic subshifts but also applicable in systems without specification property including $\beta$-shifts, Katok map, generic systems in the space of robustly transitive diffeomorphisms and generic volume-preserving diffeomorphisms.

Applications include deterministic and stochastic quasi-linear partial differential equations with time-fractional derivatives, including time-fractional (stochastic) porous media equations (including the case where the Laplace operator is also fractional) and $p$-Laplace equations as special cases.

This paper presents the following AB-Caputo fractional boundary value problem 0ABCDαu(ς) = S(ς,u(ς)),ς ∈ [0, 1] with integral-type boundary conditions u(0) = 0 = u′′(0),γu(1) = λ∫01g 1(κ)u(κ)dκ, of order [math]. Schauder and Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorems are used to find existence results. Uniqueness is obtained via the Banach contraction principle. To investigate the stability of a given problem, Hyers–Ulam stability is discussed. An example is provided to validate our results.

Abstract:Let be a dynamical system. Using an equivalence relation on , we introduce the quotient of the dynamical system . In the first part of the paper, we give new results about sensitive dependence on initial conditions of , transitivity of , and periodic points in . In the second part of the paper, we use these results to study chaotic functions on the Cantor fan. Explicitly, we study functions on the Cantor fan such that (1) is chaotic in the sense of Devaney, (2) is chaotic in the sense of Robinson but not in the sense of Devaney, and (3) is chaotic in the sense of Knudsen but not in the sense of Devaney. We also study chaos on the Lelek fan.

Distributional Chaos in the Baire Space

Abstract:In this paper we consider the question of distributional chaos on non-compact metric dynamical systems. We focus on a shift space over a countable alphabet, the Baire Space. We prove that on the Baire Space subshifts of finite type exhibit dense distributional chaos and subshifts of bounded type that are perfect and have a dense set of periodic points also have distributional chaos.

Abstract:According to recent research, discrete-time fractional-order models have greater potential to investigate behaviors, and chaotic maps with fractional derivative values exhibit rich dynamics. This manuscript studies the dynamics of a new fractional chaotic map-based three functions. We analyze the behaviors in commensurate and incommensurate orders, revealing their impact on dynamics. Through the maximum Lyapunov exponent (LEmax), phase portraits, and bifurcation charts. In addition, we assess the complexity and confirm the chaotic features in the map using the approximation entropy ApEn and C0 complexity. Studies show that the commensurate and incommensurate derivative values influence the fractional chaotic map-based three functions, which exhibit a variety of dynamical behaviors, such as hidden attractors, asymmetry, and symmetry. Moreover, the new system's stabilizing employing a 3D nonlinear controller is introduced. Finally, our study validates the research results using the simulation MATLAB R2024a.

Abstract:A model for the evolution of a large population interacting system is considered in which a marked Poisson processes influences their evolution, together with a Brownian motion. Mean field McKean-Vlasov limits of such system are formulated studying first both systems individually. Letting the population size growing to infinite, the weak convergence of the solutions of such systems is proved; in other words, propagation of chaos of such systems is obtained.

Abstract:We consider an evolution equation involving the fractional powers, of order $s \in (0,1)$, of a symmetric and uniformly elliptic second order operator and Caputo fractional time derivative of order $\gamma \in (1,2]$. Since it has been shown useful for the design of numerical techniques for related problems, we also consider a quasi--stationary elliptic problem that comes from the realization of the spatial fractional diffusion as the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map for a nonuniformly elliptic problem posed on a semi--infinite cylinder. We provide existence and uniqueness results together with energy estimates for both problems. In addition, we derive regularity estimates both in time and space; the time--regularity results show that the usual assumptions made in the numerical analysis literature are problematic

The discrete fractional duffing system: Chaos, 0-1 test, C0 complexity, entropy, and control

Abstract:In this paper, we study the dynamics and control of a Caputo fractional difference form of the Duffing map. We use phase plots, bifurcation diagrams, and Lyapunov exponents to establish the existence of chaos over a wide range of fractional orders and examine the nature of the dynamics. Also, we present the 0-1 test to detect chaos and C0 complexity, which is an alternative nonlinear statistical measure that can quantify the regularity of a time series. In addition, we measure the approximate entropy to see the performance of our numerical results. Through phase plots and bifurcation diagrams, it is shown that the proposed fractional map exhibits a range of different dynamical behaviors including chaos and coexisting attractors. A one-dimensional feedback stabilization controller is proposed. The asymptotic convergence of the proposed controller is established by means of the stability theory of linear fractional order discrete-time systems. Simulation results have been carried out to illustrate the findings of the study.
Existence and space-time regularity for stochastic heat equations on p.c.f. fractals

Abstract:We define linear stochastic heat equations (SHE) on p.c.f.s.s. sets equipped with regular harmonic structures. We show that if the spectral dimension of the set is less than two, then function-valued "random-field" solutions to these SPDEs exist and are jointly Hölder continuous in space and time. We calculate the respective Hölder exponents, which extend the well-known results on the Hölder exponents of the solution to SHE on the unit interval. This shows that the "curse of dimensionality" of the SHE on $\mathbb{R}^n$ depends not on the geometric dimension of the ambient space but on the analytic properties of the operator through the spectral dimension. To prove these results we establish generic continuity theorems for stochastic processes indexed by these p.c.f.s.s. sets that are analogous to Kolmogorov's continuity theorem. We also investigate the long-time behaviour of the solutions to the fractal SHEs.

Abstract:Dynamical systems and fractional differential equations can be modeled using variable-order differential operators. In this study, the dynamics of a variable-order fractional Lorenz–Lü–Chen system with variable-order and constant-order derivatives are examined. We propose a generalized numerical scheme for simulating fractional differential operators with power-law kernels. The numerical scheme is based on the fundamental theorem of fractional calculus and the Lagrange polynomial interpolation. Furthermore, we examine how random parameter variations affect an approximate unified chaotic model with variable order. Specifically, we examine chaos disappearance in systems that rapidly switch from one family to another. In our simulation study, we show that increasing the key parameter and reducing its reciprocal fractional order together can suppress chaotic fluctuations much earlier than if the parameters remain fixed. Different simulation techniques have also been explored for fractional order switched chaotic systems with random parameters. The proposed system can also be solved using power series methods. The novelty of this paper is not to examine weak chaos masked by additive noise, but rather to describe the dynamics of systems that are subjected to such noise as parameter switching. By adjusting the structure, parameters, and order of the system, different chaotic oscillations and special dynamic behaviors of the Lorenz–Lü–Chen family chaos system are discovered and analyzed.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we characterize the chaos in the Duffing equation with negative linear stiffness and a fractional damping term given by a Caputo fractional derivative of order $$\alpha $$ α ranging from 0 to 2. We use two different numerical methods to compute the solutions, one of them new. We discriminate between regular and chaotic solutions by means of the attractor in the phase space and the values of the Lyapunov Characteristic Exponents. For this, we have extended a linear approximation method to this equation. The system is very rich with distinct behaviours. In the limits $$\alpha $$ α to 0 or $$\alpha $$ α to 2, the system tends to basically the same undamped system with a behaviour clearly different from the classical Duffing equation.
