Contemplation of the selection of Chinese women mass sport development objectives

Abstract:With the development of society and the elevation of women’s status in China, and needed by the intrinsic impetus of sports reform, women mass sport shows a flourishing picture, but in the mean time, it is accompanied by new problems, which mainly show in the following realistic problems: sports activity spaces are squeezed and fragmentized; sports event choices are limited; women sports organization is absent; women mass sport culture is marginalized; such three major areas as the public, business and society are developing in an unbalanced way; etc. These new problems demand that women mass sport development objectives be adjusted and replanned. Based on social gender theory and sports system development theory, from the perspective of social transition theory, the author contemplated the selection of current Chinese women mass sport develop-ment objectives. From the perspective of women comprehensive development view, the development objectives should embody the practicing and empowering functions of the female body, and meet women’s demand for social interaction and cultural communication, promote the increase of women’s collective cohesion and discourse power. From the perspective of sports syn-ergetic development view, we should continue to carry forward humanistic care spirit and the characteristics of women mass sport daily life routinization and popularization, and strengthen its scientized, organized and legalized construction, while estab-lishing the view of development of women mass sport in terms of enhancing birth giving and people education From the per-spective of social sustainable development, we should ensure the balanced development of women mass sport in the “three ar-eas” of social life, and embody its core value in maintaining social equality, health, stability, harmony and advancement.
