Abstract:We obtain existence and multiplicity results for quasilinear fourth order elliptic equations on $\mathbb{R}^{N}$ with sign-changing potential. Our results generalize some recent results on this problem.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with a class of nonhomogeneous quasilinear elliptic system driven by the locally symmetric potential and the small continuous perturbations in the whole-space $\mathbb{R}^N$. By a variant of Clark's theorem without the global symmetric condition and a Moser's iteration technique, we obtain the existence of multiple solutions when the nonlinear term satisfies some growth conditions only in a circle with center 0 and the perturbation term is any continuous function with a small parameter and no any growth hypothesis.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following quasilinear Schrödinger-Poisson system with critical growth: where , is a smooth potential function and g is a appropriate nonlinear function. For the sake of overcoming the technical difficulties caused by the quasilinear term, we shall apply the perturbation method by adding a 4-Laplacian operator to consider the perturbation problem. Moreover, when g satisfying suitable assumptions and sufficiently large μ, we take advantage of constraint variational method, the quantitative deformation lemma, Moser iteration and approximation technique to obtain a least-energy sign-changing solution , which has precisely two nodal domains.

Abstract:This paper deals with a singular biharmonic equations with p -Laplacian and Hardy potential. Using Mountain Pass Theorem and Fountain Theorem with Cerami condition, we obtain the existence and multiplicity of sign-changing high-energy solutions under some suitable conditions on the nonlinear term f(x,u) . In addition, by applying an abstract critical point theorem of Kajikiya in [A critical point theorem related to the symmetric mountain pass lemma and its applications to elliptic equations. J Funct Anal. 2005;225(2):352–370], a sequence of sign-changing solutions converging to zero for the biharmonic equations with sublinear nonlinearities is also obtained.

Abstract:We study the logarithmic Schrödinger equation with the sign-changing potential function. It is known that the corresponding functional is not well defined in <math>H1(RN)</math>, but by imposing some condition on V(x), we can show that the functional is well defined in a subspace of <math>H1(RN)</math>. Then, the existence and multiplicity of solutions is obtained by using variational methods. We remark that the existence of solutions is deeply influenced by the sign of Q(x).

Abstract:This paper focuses on a singular system with a sign-changing potential in őď, a bounded domain with a Lipschitz boundary in ‚ĄĚ d . By imposing appropriate conditions on the weight potential, which is allowed to change sign, we establish the existence of multiple solutions using the shape optimization approach. This study represents one of the earliest endeavors to explore and analyze the occurrence of multiple solutions in fractional singular systems involving sign-changing potentials. By explicitly addressing this particular aspect, our paper contributes significantly to the limited body of literature that exists in this specific field.

Moreover, when g satisfies the appropriate hypotheses, a sign-changing solution u(0) of above problem can be obtained by taking advantage of constraint variational method, the quantitative deformation lemma and approximation technique, which has precisely two nodal domains.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with two properties of positive weak solutions of quasilinear elliptic equations with nonlinear gradient terms. First, we show a Liouville-type theorem for positive weak solutions of the equation involving the m -Laplacian operator- increment (m)u = u(q)| backward difference u|(p) in RN,where N 1, m > 1 and p, q ? 0. The technique of Bernstein gradient estimates is utilized to study the case p < m. Moreover, a Liouville-type theorem for supersolutions under subcritical range of exponentsq(N - m) + p(N -1) < N(m -1)is also established. Then, we use a degree argument to obtain the existence of positive weak solutions for a nonlinear Dirichlet problem of the type - increment (m)u = f (x, u, backward difference u), with f satisfying certain structure conditions. Our proof is based on a priori estimates, which will be accomplished by using a blow-up argument together with the Liouville-type theorem in the half-space. As another application, some new Harnack inequalities are proved.

We establish a compactness lemma for functional and develop some delicate analyses to deal with non-standard difficulties caused by singular term and the compactness issue. We introduce some natural assumptions on the nonlinearity f and obtain the existence of Mountain-pass type solution and ground state solution for above equation. Moreover, two distinct solutions, one has positive energy while the other one has negative energy, are established for the above equation with a perturbation.</n\)<>

Abstract:We propose a new variational approach to finding multiple critical points for strongly indefinite problems without assuming the weak upper semicontinuity on the variational functionals. By this approach, we obtain the existence of infinitely many geometrically distinct solutions for a stationary periodic Schrödinger equation, in which the linear part is strongly indefinite and the nonlinear term is allowed to change sign in general ways.

Abstract:For fourth order p-biharmonic elliptic equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions, a new Pohozaev type identity is established. In view of the identity, the sufficient conditions of nonexistence of weak solution for two classes of quasilinear probles are obtained. The Pohozaev type identity for p-biharmonic problem with Navier boundary conditions is discussed. These results exhibit the significance for nonexistence of solution of p-biharmonic problem.
