Abstract:In this Letter we give a new integrable four-field lattice hierarchy, associated to a new discrete spectral problem. We obtain our hierarchy as the compatibility condition of this spectral problem and an associated equation, constructed herein, for the time-evolution of eigenfunctions. We consider reductions of our hierarchy, which also of course admit discrete zero curvature representations, in detail. We find that our hierarchy includes many well-known integrable hierarchies as special cases, including the Toda lattice hierarchy, the modified Toda lattice hierarchy, the relativistic Toda lattice hierarchy, and the Volterra lattice hierarchy. We also obtain here a new integrable two-field lattice hierarchy, to which we give the name of Suris lattice hierarchy, since the first equation of this hierarchy has previously been given by Suris. The Hamiltonian structure of the Suris lattice hierarchy is obtained by means of a trace identity formula.

Abstract:In this Letter, by considering two new (2+1)-dimensional discrete linear spectral problems, new (2+1)-dimensional integrable lattice hierarchies are constructed. It is shown that the two new (2+1)-dimensional integrable lattice hierarchies are extensions (to nonisospectral and (2+1)-dimensional cases) of a (1+1)-dimensional 3-field lattice hierarchy of Zhang et al. and a (1+1)-dimensional 2-field lattice hierarchy due to Merola, Ragnisco and Tu. We also obtain new (1+1)-dimensional nonisospectral lattice hierarchies which include a nonisospectral relativistic Toda lattice hierarchy.

Abstract:This paper contains a survey on Liouville correspondences between integrable hierarchies. A Liouville transformation between the corresponding isospectral problems induces a Liouville correspondence between their flows and Hamiltonian functionals. As prototypical examples, we construct Liouville correspondences for the modified Camassa-Holm, the Novikov, the Degasperis-Procesi, the two-component Camassa-Holm and the two-component Novikov (Geng-Xue) hierarchies. In addition, a new Liouville correspondence for a certain dual Schrödinger integrable hierarchy is presented.

Abstract:Poisson structures related to affine Courant-type algebroids are analyzed, including those related with cotangent bundles on Lie-group manifolds. Special attention is paid to Courant-type algebroids and their related R structures generated by suitably defined tensor mappings. Lie–Poisson brackets that are invariant with respect to the coadjoint action of the loop diffeomorphism group are created, and the related Courant-type algebroids are described. The corresponding integrable Hamiltonian flows generated by Casimir functionals and generalizing so-called heavenly-type differential systems describing diverse geometric structures of conformal type in finite dimensional Riemannian manifolds are described.

Abstract:In this Letter, by means of considering matrix form of a new Schrödinger discrete spectral operator equation, and constructing opportune time evolution equations, and using discrete zero curvature representation, two discrete integrable lattice hierarchies proposed by Boiti et al. [J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 36 (2003) 139] are re-derived. From the matrix Lax representations, we demonstrate the existence of infinitely many conservation laws for the two lattice hierarchies and give the corresponding conserved densities and the associated fluxes by means of formulae. Thus their integrability is further confirmed. Specially we obtain the infinitely many conservation laws for a new discrete version of the KdV equation. A connection between the conservation laws of the discrete KdV equation and the ones of the KdV equation is discussed by two examples.

Abstract:This thesis consists of three chapters. In Chapter one, we introduce some notionsand definitions for basic concepts of the theory of integrable bi-Hamiltonian systems.Brief statements of several open problems related to our main results are alsomentioned in this part.In Chapter two, we applied the so-called Jordan–Kronecker decomposition theoremto study algebraic properties of the pencil P generated by two constant compatiblePoisson structures on a vector space. In particular, we study the linearautomorphism group GP that preserves P. In classical symplectic geometry, manyfundamental results are based on the symplectic group, which preserves the symplecticstructure. Therefore in the theory of bi-Hamiltonian structures, we hope GP alsoplays a fundamental role.In Chapter three, we study one of the famous Poisson pencils which is sometimescalled “argument shift pencil”. This pencil is defined on the dual space g∗ ofan arbitrary Lie algebra g.This pencil is generated by the Lie-Poisson bracket { , } and constant bracket{ , }a for a ∈ g∗. Thus we may apply the Jordan–Kronecker decomposition theoremto introduce the so-called Jordan–Kronecker invariants of a finite-dimensional Liealgebra g. These invariants can be understood as the algebraic type of the canonicalJordan–Kronecker form for the “argument shift pencil” at a generic point.Jordan–Kronecker invariants are found for all low-dimensional Lie algebras(dim g ≤ 5) and can be used to construct the families of polynomials in bi-involution.The results are found to be useful in the discussion of the existence of a completefamily of polynomials in bi-involution w.r.t. these two brackets { , } and { , }a.

Abstract:An isospectral hierarchy of commutative integrable systems associated with a polynomial spectral problem is proposed. The resulting hierarchy possesses a recursion structure controlled by a hereditary operator. The nonisospectral flows generate the time first order dependent symmetries of the isospectral hierarchy, which constitute Virasoro symmetry algebras together with commutative symmetries.

Complex Manifolds

Abstract:Holomorphic Poisson structures arise naturally in the realm of generalized geometry. A holomorphic Poisson structure induces a deformation of the complex structure in a generalized sense, whose cohomology is obtained by twisting the Dolbeault @-operator by the holomorphic Poisson bivector field. Therefore, the cohomology space naturally appears as the limit of a spectral sequence of a double complex. The first sheet of this spectral sequence is simply the Dolbeault cohomology with coefficients in the exterior algebra of the holomorphic tangent bundle. We identify various necessary conditions on compact complex manifolds on which this spectral sequence degenerates on the level of the second sheet. The manifolds to our concern include all compact complex surfaces, Kähler manifolds, and nilmanifolds with abelian complex structures or parallelizable complex structures.

Abstract:The subject for investigation in this note is concerned with holomorphic Poisson structures on nilmanifolds with abelian complex structures. As a basic fact, we establish that on such manifolds, the Dolbeault cohomology with coefficients in holomorphic polyvector fields is isomorphic to the cohomology of invariant forms with coefficients in invariant polyvector fields. We then quickly identify the existence of invariant holomorphic Poisson structures. More important, the spectral sequence of the Poisson bi-complex associated to such holomorphic Poisson structure degenerates at $E_2$. We will also provide examples of holomorphic Poisson structures on such manifolds so that the related spectral sequence does not degenerate at $E_2$.

Abstract:In this Letter, by means of using discrete zero curvature representation and constructing opportune time evolution problems, two new discrete integrable lattice hierarchies with n-dependent coefficients are proposed, which relate to a new discrete Schrödinger nonisospectral operator equation. The relation of the two new lattice hierarchies with the Volterra hierarchy is discussed. It has been shown that one lattice hierarchy is equivalent to the positive Volterra hierarchy with n-dependent coefficients and another lattice hierarchy with isospectral problem is equivalent to the negative Volterra hierarchy. We demonstrate the existence of infinitely many conservation laws for the two lattice hierarchies and give the corresponding conserved densities and the associated fluxes formulaically. Thus their integrability is confirmed.

Abstract:An approach is described to construct integrable hierarchies, their Lax operators and relevant algebraic structures for the given nonlinear integrable equations in 2+1 dimensions. The hierarchies consist of isospectral and non-isospectral flows and their Lax operators form an infinite dimensional Lie algebra—called the Lax algebra which in turn gives rise to the commutability and non-commutability of the flows and the algebraic structures for the symmetries and conserved quantities of each equations in the hierarchies. The so-called mastersymmetries of the given equations can also be derived straightforwards through the approach.

Abstract:In this article, several 2+1 dimensional lattice hierarchies proposed by Blaszak and Szum [J. Math. Phys. {\bf 42}, 225(2001)] are further investigated. We first describe their discrete zero curvature representations. Then, by means of solving the corresponding discrete spectral equation, we demonstrate the existence of infinitely many conservation laws for them and obtain the corresponding conserved densities and associated fluxes formulaically. Thus, their integrability is further confirmed.

Abstract:This paper is a survey (may be incomplete) on partial Nambu-Poisson structures in infinite dimension, mainly in the convenient setting. These ones can be seen as a generalization of both partial Poisson and Nambu-Poisson structures. We also study the properties of the associated characteristic distribution. Finally, we are interested in the projective and direct limits of such structures.

Abstract:The spectral curve is the key ingredient in the modern theory of classical integrable systems. We develop a construction of the ``quantum spectral curve'' and argue that it takes the analogous structural and unifying role on the quantum level also. In the simplest, but essential case the ``quantum spectral curve'' is given by the formula "det"(L(z)-dz) [Talalaev04] (hep-th/0404153). As an easy application of our constructions we obtain the following: quite a universal receipt to define quantum commuting hamiltonians from the classical ones, in particular an explicit description of a maximal commutative subalgebra in U(gl(n)[t])/t^N and in U(\g[t^{-1}])\otimes U(t\g[t]); its relation with the center on the of the affine algebra; an explicit formula for the center generators and a conjecture on W-algebra generators; a receipt to obtain the q-deformation of these results; the simple and explicit construction of the Langlands correspondence; the relation between the ``quantum spectral curve'' and the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation; new generalizations of the KZ-equation; the conjecture on rationality of the solutions of the KZ-equation for special values of level. In the simplest cases we observe the coincidence of the ``quantum spectral curve'' and the so-called Baxter equation. Connection with the KZ-equation offers a new powerful way to construct the Baxter's Q-operator.
A class of extended high-dimensional nonisospectral KdV hierarchies and symmetry

Abstract:We construct a new class of N-dimensional Lie algebras and apply them to integrable systems. In this paper, we obtain a nonisospectral KdV integrable hierarchy by introducing a nonisospectral spectral problem. Then, a coupled nonisospectral KdV hierarchy is deduced by means of the corresponding higher-dimensional loop algebra. It follows that the K symmetries, {\tau} symmetries and their Lie algebra of the coupled nonisospectral KdV hierarchy are investigated. The bi-Hamiltonian structures of the both resulting hierarchies are derived by using the trace identity. Finally, we derive a multi-component nonisospectral KdV hierarchy related to the N-dimensional loop algebra, which generalizes the coupled results to an arbitrary number of components.

Abstract:Staring from a new spectral problem, a hierarchy of the soliton equations is derived. It is shown that the associated hierarchies are infinite-dimensional integrable Hamiltonian systems. By the procedure of nonlinearization of the Lax pairs, the integrable decomposition of the whole soliton hierarchy is given. Further, we construct two integrable coupling systems for the hierarchy by the conception of semidirect sums of Lie algebras.
