Abstract:The electronic pumping arising from the steady motion of ferromagnetic skyrmions is investigated by solving the time evolution of the Schrodinger equation implemented on a tight-binding model with the statistical physics of the many-body problem. It is shown that the ability of steadily moving skyrmions to pump large charge currents arises from their non-trivial magnetic topology, i.e. the coexistence between spin-motive force and topological Hall effect. Based on an adiabatic scattering theory, we compute the pumped current and demonstrate that it scales with the reflection coefficient of the conduction electrons against the skyrmion. Finally, we propose that such a phenomenon can be exploited in the context of racetrack devices, where the electronic pumping enhances the collective motion of the train of skyrmions.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is: **How do magnetic skyrmions pump charge currents during steady - state motion, and explore the impact of this phenomenon on the collective motion of skyrmions**. Specifically, by studying the steady - state motion of magnetic skyrmions, the author reveals the reasons why they can pump significant charge currents. This phenomenon stems from the non - trivial topological structure of skyrmions, that is, the synergy between the spin - motive force and the topological Hall effect. In addition, the author also proposes the possibility of using this phenomenon to enhance the collective motion of skyrmion chains in racetrack memory. ### Key Point Summary: 1. **Problem Background**: - Magnetic skyrmions are magnetic textures with non - trivial topological structures. Due to their unique topological protection characteristics, they have potential application prospects in high - density storage and logic applications. - Previous studies have shown that skyrmions can generate significant charge currents during steady - state motion, but the mechanism is still unclear. 2. **Research Methods**: - The author studies the motion of skyrmions in nanowires and the resulting electron - pumping effect by solving the time - dependent Schrödinger equation, combined with the tight - binding model and many - body statistical physics. - The scattering matrix method is used to calculate the currents pumped by skyrmions under different conditions. 3. **Main Findings**: - Steady - state moving skyrmions can pump significant charge currents due to the synergy between the spin - motive force and the topological Hall effect. - Through theoretical derivation and numerical simulation, the author obtains the relationships between the pumped current and parameters such as skyrmion velocity and reflection coefficient. - The possibility of using the synergetic pumping effect of multiple skyrmions in racetrack memory to enhance collective motion is proposed. 4. **Formula Explanation**: - The expression for the pumped current is: \[ I = -v \left(\frac{\hbar}{2e}\right)^2 \int dS (\sigma_\uparrow^H + \sigma_\downarrow^H) [m \cdot (\partial_x m \times \partial_y m)]^2 \] where \( \sigma_s^H \) is the ordinary Hall conductivity of spin \( s \), and \( m \) is the unit magnetization vector. 5. **Application Prospects**: - This finding provides theoretical support for the development of new storage devices based on skyrmions, especially for improving data transmission efficiency by enhancing the collective motion of skyrmion chains. In conclusion, this paper reveals the physical mechanism through in - depth research on the steady - state motion of magnetic skyrmions and the resulting electron - pumping effect, and proposes potential application prospects.
