Abstract:Let $\C$ be a finite projective EI category and $k$ be a field. The singularity category of the category algebra $k\C$ is a tensor triangulated category. We compute its spectrum in the sense of Balmer.

Abstract:Let C be a finite EI category and k be a field. We consider the category algebra kC. Suppose K(C)=D^b(kC-mod) is the bounded derived category of finitely generated left modules. This is a tensor triangulated category and we compute its spectrum in the sense of Balmer. When C=G*P is a finite transporter category, the category algebra becomes Gorenstein so we can define the stable module category \CM k(G*P), of maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules, as a quotient category of K(G*P). Since \CM k(G*P) is also tensor triangulated, we compute its spectrum as well. These spectra are used to classify tensor ideal thick subcategories of the corresponding tensor triangulated categories, despite the fact that the previously mentioned tensor categories are not rigid.

Abstract:Let $V$ be a finite dimensional $k$-vector space, where $k$ is an algebraic closed field of characteristic zero. Let $G \subseteq\ mathrm{SL}(V)$ be a finite abelian group, and denote by $S$ the $G$-invariant subring of the polynomial ring $k[V]$. It is shown that the singularity category $D_{sg}(S)$ recovers the reduced singular locus of $\mathrm{Spec}(S)$.

Categorical absorption of a non-isolated singularity

Abstract:We study an example of a projective threefold with a non-isolated singularity and its derived category. The singular locus can be locally described as a line of surface nodes compounded with a threefold node at the origin. We construct a semiorthogonal decomposition where one component absorbs the singularity in the sense of Kuznetsov-Shinder, and the other components are equivalent to the derived categories of smooth projective varieties. The absorbing category is seen to be closely related to the absorbing category constructed for nodal varieties by Kuznetsov-Shinder, reflecting the geometry of the singularity. We further show that the semiorthogonal decomposition is induced by one on a geometric resolution, and briefly consider the properties of the absorbing category under smoothing.

For this end, we establish a duality between such a sub-algebras and the finite codimension ${\mathbf {k}}$ -vector spaces of ${\mathbf {k}}[u]$ , this ring acts on ${\mathbf {k}}[\![t]\!]$ by differentiation.

Abstract:Let be an Artin algebra and a B - A -bimodule. We prove that there is a triangle equivalence between the corresponding singularity categories if is semi-simple and is projective. As a result, we obtain a new method for describing the singularity categories of certain bounded quiver algebras.

Abstract:We give sufficient conditions for a Frobenius category to be equivalent to the category of Gorenstein projective modules over an Iwanaga-Gorenstein ring. We then apply this result to the Frobenius category of special Cohen-Macaulay modules over a rational surface singularity, where we show that the associated stable category is triangle equivalent to the singularity category of a certain discrepant partial resolution of the given rational singularity. In particular, this produces uncountably many Iwanaga-Gorenstein rings of finite GP type. We also apply our method to representation theory, obtaining Auslander-Solberg and Kong type results.

Abstract:For an additive Waldhausen category linear over a ring $k$, the corresponding $K$-theory spectrum is a module spectrum over the $K$-theory spectrum of $k$. Thus if $k$ is a finite field of characteristic $p$, then after localization at $p$, we obtain an Eilenberg-Maclane spectrum -- in other words, a chain complex. We propose an elementary and direct construction of this chain complex that behaves well in families and uses only method of homological algebra (in particular, the notions of a ring spectrum and a module spectrum are not used).

Singularities of Bridgeland moduli spaces for K3 categories: an update

Abstract:This survey is a continuation of the study undertaken in \cite{AS18}. We examine the local structure of Bridgeland moduli spaces $M_\sigma(v,\D)$, where the relevant triangulated category $\D$ is either the bounded derived category $\D=\D^b(X)$ of a K3 surface $X$, or the Kuznetsov component $\D=\Ku(Y)\subset \D ^b(Y)$ of a smooth cubic fourfold $Y\subset \PP^5$. For these moduli spaces, building on \cite{Bmm19}, \cite{Bmm21} we give a direct proof of formality and, using their local isomorphism with quiver varieties, we establish their normality and their irreducibility, as long as $\sigma$ does not lie on a totally semistable wall. We then connect the variation of GIT quotients for quiver varieties with the changing of stability conditions on moduli spaces.

Abstract:We define a notion of a connectivity structure on an $\infty$-category, analogous to a $t$-structure but applicable in unstable contexts -- such as spaces, or algebras over an operad. This allows us to generalize notions of n-skeleta, minimal skeleta, and cellular approximation from the category of spaces. For modules over an Eilenberg-Mac Lane spectrum, these are closely related to the notion of projective amplitude. We apply these to ring spectra, where they can be detected via the cotangent complex and higher Hochschild homology with coefficients. We show that the spectra $Y(n)$ of chromatic homotopy theory are minimal skeleta for $H\mathbb{F}_2$ in the category of associative ring spectra. Similarly, Ravenel's spectra $T(n)$ are shown to be minimal skeleta for $BP$ in the same way, which proves that these admit canonical associative algebra structures.

Abstract:We present an elementary construction of the non-connective algebraic K-theory spectrum associated to an additive category following the contracted functor approach due to Bass. It comes with a universal property that easily allows us to identify it with other constructions, for instance with the one of Pedersen-Weibel in terms of Z^i-graded objects and bounded homomorphisms.

Abstract:For a higher Nakayama algebra $A$ in the sense of Jasso-Külshammer, we show that the singularity category of $A$ is triangulated equivalent to the stable module category of a self-injective higher Nakayama algebra. This generalizes a similar result for usual Nakayama algebras due to Shen. Our proof relies on the existence of $d\mathbb{Z}$-cluster tilting subcategories in the module category of $A$ and the result of Kvamme that each $d\mathbb{Z}$-cluster tilting subcategory of $A$ induces a $d\mathbb{Z}$-cluster tilting subcategory in its singularity category. Moreover, our result provides many concrete examples of the triangulated Auslander-Iyama correspondence introduced by Jasso-Muro, namely, there is a bijective correspondence between the equivalence classes of the singularity categories of $d$-Nakayama algebras with its basic $d\mathbb{Z}$-cluster tilting object and the isomorphism classes of self-injective $(d+1)$-Nakayama algebras.

Abstract:We construct a non-affine analogue of the singularity category of a Gorenstein local ring. With this, Buchweitz's classic equivalence of three triangulated categories over a Gorenstein local ring has been generalized to schemes, a project started by Murfet and Salarian more than ten years ago. Our construction originates in a framework we develop for singularity categories of exact categories. As an application of this framework in the non-commutative setting, we characterize rings of finite finitistic dimension.

Abstract:We prove that any spectrum is equivalent to the nonconnective K-theory of a stable $\infty$-category. We use these results to construct a stable $\infty$-category $\mathcal{C}$ with a bounded t-structure such that $\operatorname{K}(\mathcal{C})$ is not equivalent to $\operatorname{K}(\mathcal{C}^\heartsuit)$, disproving a conjecture of Antieau, Gepner, and Heller.

Abstract:Let C be a small category and k a field. There are two interesting mathematical subjects: the category algebra kC and the classifying space |C|=BC. We study the ring homomorphism HH*(kC) --> H*(|C|,k) and prove it is split surjective. This generalizes the well-known results for groups and posets. Based on this result, we construct a seven-dimensional category algebra whose Hochschild cohomology ring modulo nilpotents is not finitely generated, against a conjecture of Snashall and Solberg.

Abstract:We describe the Segal $K$-theory of the symmetric monoidal category of finite-dimensional vector spaces over a perfect field $\mathbb{F}$ together with an automorphism, or, equivalently, the group-completion of the $E_\infty$-algebra of maps from $S^1$ to the disjoint union of classifying spaces $\mathrm{BGL}_d(\mathbb F)$, in terms of the $K$-theory of finite field extensions of $\mathbb{F}$. A key ingredient for this is a computation of the Segal $K$-theory of the category of finite-dimensional vector spaces with a nilpotent endomorphism, which we do over any field $\mathbb F$. We also discuss the topological cases of $\mathbb F =\mathbb C,\mathbb R$.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a projective variety with an isolated $A_2$ singularity. We study its bounded derived category and prove that there exists a crepant categorical resolution $\pi_*\colon \widetilde{\mathcal{D}} \to D^b(X)$, which is a Verdier localization. More importantly, we give an explicit description of a generating set for its kernel. In the case of an even dimensional variety with a single $A_2$ singularity, we prove that this generating set is given by two $2$-spherical objects. If $X$ is a cubic fourfold with an isolated $A_2$ singularity, we show that this resolution restricts to a crepant categorical resolution $\widetilde{\mathcal{A}}_X$ of the Kuznetsov component $\mathcal{A}_X \subset D^b(X)$, which is equivalent to the bounded derived category of a K3 surface.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the singularity category Dsg(modA) and the Z-graded singularity category Dsg(modZA) for a Gorenstein monomial algebra A. Firstly, for a positively graded 1-Gorenstein algebra, we prove that its Z-graded singularity category admits silting objects. Secondly, for A=KQ/I being a Gorenstein monomial algebra, we prove that Dsg(modZA) has tilting objects. As a consequence, Dsg(modZA) is triangulated equivalent to the derived category of a hereditary algebra H which is of finite representation type. Finally, we give a characterization of 1-Gorenstein monomial algebras, and describe their singularity categories clearly by using the triangulated orbit categories of type A.
