Abstract:Friction of catalyst in practical application and transportation leads to the metal oxides shedding, thus diminishing the lifetime. In order to inhibit the active component fallout, a series of embedded catalysts were prepared by activated carbon (AC) fabrication from coal as based, which were designed to remove NO x from sinter flue gas. Research results demonstrated that the denitrification activity of 7Mn3Ce/AC catalyst reached 81.3 % at 180 °C, and still maintained stable NO conversion after 44 h. MnO 2 and CeO 2 were added in catalyst could increase the O α proportion, leading to an improvement the mobility of oxygen. Moreover, the formation of oxygen vacancies by O β in cerium oxide was facilitated by a high relative ratio of Ce 3+ , and Mn 4+ favorable redox properties promoted the reduction of NO to N 2 , which advantaged the denitrification process. Furthermore, abundant Lewis acid and Brønsted acid sites were instrumental in the accumulation of NH 3 on the catalyst surface. The reaction pathway of 7Mn3Ce/AC catalyst followed the E-R and L-H mechanisms.
