Abstract:We apply the parabolic flow method to solving complex quotient equations on closed Kähler manifolds. We study the parabolic equation and prove the convergence. As a result, we solve the complex quotient equations.

Abstract:In this paper we study a contracting flow of closed, convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space ℝ^n+1 with speed f r^α K, where K is the Gauss curvature, r is the distance from the hypersurface to the origin, and f is a positive and smooth function. If α≥ n+1, we prove that the flow exists for all time and converges smoothly after normalisation to a soliton, which is a sphere centred at the origin if f ≡ 1. Our argument provides a parabolic proof in the smooth category for the classical Aleksandrov problem, and resolves the dual q-Minkowski problem introduced by Huang, Lutwak, Yang and Zhang (Acta Math. 216 (2016): 325-388), for the case q<0. If α < n+1, corresponding to the case q>0, we also establish the same results for even function f and origin-symmetric initial condition, but for non-symmetric f, counterexample is given for the above smooth convergence.

Abstract:We consider a gradient flow generated by a complex Hessian functional which is defined on compact Kahler manifolds. By setting up the a priori estimates of the admissible solutions, we prove the long-time existence of the solution to the flow and its convergence. Thus we show the functional admits a local minimal point in the space of admissible functions. As its application, we show the solvability of a class of complex Hessian equations.

Our main purpose is to show the existence of solutions to the problem for all p>0 via the study of related parabolic flows. We also discuss the problem when p<0. Abstract:We treat two quite different problems related to changes of complex structures on Kähler manifolds by using global geometric method. First, by using operators from Hodge theory on compact Kähler manifold, we present a closed explicit extension formula for holomorphic canonical forms in different complex structures. As applications, we give a closed explicit formula for certain canonical sections of Hodge bundles on marked and polarized moduli spaces of projective manifolds, and provide a closed explicit extension formula for holomorphic pluricanonical forms under certain natural conditions. Second, by using the operators in L^2-Hodge theory on Poincaré disk, we present a simple and unified method to solve the Beltrami equations with measurable coefficients for quasi-conformal maps.

Abstract:Recently, Pipoli and Sinestrari [Pipoli, G. and Sinestrari, C., Mean curvature flow of pinched submanifolds of ℝℙ n , Comm. Anal. Geom. , 25 , 2017, 799–846] initiated the study of convergence problem for the mean curvature flow of small codimension in the complex projective space ℝℙ m . The purpose of this paper is to develop the work due to Pipoli and Sinestrari, and verify a new convergence theorem for the mean curvature flow of arbitrary codimension in the complex projective space. Namely, the authors prove that if the initial submanifold in ℝℙ m satisfies a suitable pinching condition, then the mean curvature flow converges to a round point in finite time, or converges to a totally geodesic submanifold as t → ∞. Consequently, they obtain a differentiable sphere theorem for submanifolds in the complex projective space.

Abstract:Let X be a smooth subvariety of CP^N. We study a flow, called balancing flow, on the space of projectively equivalent embeddings of X, which attempts to deform the given embedding into a balanced one. If L->X is an ample line bundle, considering embeddings via H^0(L^k) gives a sequence of balancing flows. We prove that, provided these flows are started at appropriate points, they converge to Calabi flow for as long as it exists. This result is the parabolic analogue of Donaldson's theorem relating balanced embeddings to metrics with constant scalar curvature [JDG 59(3):479-522, 2001]. In our proof we combine Donaldson's techniques with an asymptotic result of Liu-Ma [arXiv:math/0601260v2] which, as we explain, describes the asymptotic behaviour of the derivative of the map FS\circ Hilb whose fixed points are balanced metrics.

Abstract:We show that the parabolic quaternionic Monge-Ampère equation on a compact hyperkähler manifold has always a long-time solution which once normalized converges smoothly to a solution of the quaternionic Monge-Ampère equation. This is the same setting in which Dinew and Sroka prove the conjecture of Alesker and Verbitsky. We also introduce an analogue of the Chern-Ricci flow in hyperhermitian manifolds.

Abstract:Following the recent development by Guo-Phong-Tong and Chen-Cheng, we derived the $L^{\infty}$ estimate for Kähler-Ricci flows under a weaker assumption. The technique also extends to more general cases coming from different geometric backgrounds.

Abstract:The Kähler-Ricci flow is studied on compact Kähler manifolds with positive first Chern class, where it reduces to a parabolic complex Monge-Ampere equation. It is shown that the flow converges to a Kähler-Einstein metric if the curvature remains bounded along the flow, and if the manifold is stable in an algebro-geometric sense. On a compact Calabi-Yau manifold there is a unique Ricci-flat Kähler metric in each Kähler cohomology class, produced by Yau solving a complex Monge-Ampere equation. The behaviour of these metrics when the class degenerates to the boundary of the Kähler cone is studied. The problem splits into two cases, according to whether the total volume goes to zero or not. On a compact symplectic four-manifold Donaldson has proposed an analog of the complex Monge-Ampère equation, the Calabi-Yau equation. If solved, it would lead to new results in symplectic topology. We solve the equation when the manifold is nonnegatively curved, and reduce the general case to bounding an integral of a scalar function.

Abstract:The existence of a solution to the parabolic system with the fractional Laplacian (−Δ) α /2 , α > 0 is proven, this solution decays at different rates along different time sequences going to infinity. As an application, the existence of a solution to the generalized Navier-Stokes equations is proven, which decays at different rates along different time sequences going to infinity. The generalized Navier-Stokes equations are the equations resulting from replacing −Δ in the Navier-Stokes equations by (−Δ) m , m > 0. At last, a similar result for 3-D incompressible anisotropic Navier-Stokes system is obtained.

Abstract:On a Fano manifold, we prove that the Kahler-Ricci flow starting from a Kahler metric in the anti-canonical class which is sufficiently close to a Kahler-Einstein metric must converge in a polynomial rate to a Kahler-Einstein metric. The convergence can not happen in general if we study the flow on the level of Kahler potentials. Instead we exploit the interpretation of the Ricci flow as the gradient flow of Perelman's \mu functional. This involves modifying the Ricci flow by a canonical family of gauges. In particular, the complex structure of the limit could be different in general. The main technical ingredient is a Lojasiewicz type inequality for Perelman's \mu functional near a critical point.

Abstract:This is a follow-up work of my earlier paper [8]. In [8], we study the lower bound of the K energy on the Kahler manifold when the first Chern class is negative. This is an important problem in Kahler geometry since the existence of lower bound of the K energy is the pre-condition for the existence of constant scalar curvature metric problem (cf. [2] and [9]). According to a decomposition formula in [8]2, the problem is reduced to the problem of solving the existence of critical metrics of a new functional J introduced both in our paper [8] and Donaldson’s work [11]. For convenience, we include its definition below. The existence problem is completed solved in Kahler surface. However, the existence problem in general dimension is still open. Abstract:Let ( M , J 0 ) (M,J_0) be a Fano manifold which admits a Kähler-Ricci soliton, we analyze the behavior of Kähler-Ricci flow near this soliton as we deform the complex structure J 0 J_0 . First, we will establish an inequality of Lojasiewicz’s type for Perelman’s entropy along the Kähler-Ricci flow. Then we prove the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow when the complex structure associated to the initial value lies in the kernel Z Z or negative part of the second variation operator of Perelman’s entropy. As applications, we solve the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for the existence of Kähler-Ricci solitons in the moduli space of complex structures near J 0 J_0 , and we show that the kernel Z Z corresponds to the local moduli space of Fano manifolds which are modified K K -semistable. We also prove a uniqueness theorem for Kähler-Ricci solitons.
A New Flow Solving the LYZ Equation in Kähler Geometry

Abstract:We introduce a new flow to the LYZ equation on a compact Kahler manifold. We first show the existence of the longtime solution of the flow. We then show that under the Collins-Jacob-Yau's condition on the subsolution, the longtime solution converges to the solution of the LYZ equation, which was solved by CollinsJacob-Yau [5] by the continuity method. Moreover, as an application of the flow, we show that on a compact Kahler surface, if there exists a semi-subsolution of the LYZ equation, then our flow converges smoothly to a singular solution to the LYZ equation away from a finite number of curves of negative self-intersection. Such a solution can be viewed as a boundary point of the moduli space of the LYZ solutions for a given Kahler metric.

Abstract:We show that the flow approach of Duch [Duc21] can be adapted to prove local well-posedness for the generalized Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation. The key step is to extend the flow approach so that it can accommodate semi-linear equations involving smooth, non-polynomial, functions of the solution - this is accomplished by introducing coordinates for the flow built out of elementary differentials.

Abstract:In Streets and Tian (2010) [1] the authors introduced a parabolic flow for pluriclosed metrics, referred to as pluriclosed flow. We also demonstrated in Streets and Tian (2010) (preprint) [2] that this flow, after certain gauge transformations, gives a class of solutions to the renormalization group flow of the nonlinear sigma model with B-field. Using these transformations, we show that our pluriclosed flow preserves generalized Kähler structures in a natural way. Equivalently, when coupled with a nontrivial evolution equation for the two complex structures, the B-field renormalization group flow also preserves generalized Kähler structure. We emphasize that it is crucial to evolve the complex structures in the right way to establish this fact.
