Abstract:Nursing students are given opportunities to develop critical thinking disposition, caring behaviors, and professional commitment through clinical training. Therefore, nurse educators should move away from traditional methods toward new ones, such as internship programs in clinical training. This study assessed the effect of nursing internship programs on senior undergraduate nursing students' critical thinking disposition, caring behaviors, and professional commitment.

Caring behavior is also an important part of nursing education, especially when students begin to learn the core nursing values and the nature of the profession. Research shows that the nursing internship program has a positive effect on improving the critical - thinking disposition, professional commitment, and caring behavior of nursing students.
### Research Methods
This is a quasi - experimental study, using a pre - test - post - test design without a control group. The research sample includes 46 senior - year students participating in the nursing internship program. Four tools were used in the study to collect data:
1. **Demographic Characteristics Table**: Collects information such as age, average grade, gender, marital status, and work experience.
2. **Critical - Thinking Disposition Inventory (CTDI)**: It contains 33 items, divided into three dimensions: innovation or creativity, cognitive maturity or perfection, and psychological involvement or commitment.
3. **Nursing Professional Commitment Scale (NPCS)**: It contains 26 items, divided into four dimensions: nursing perception, nursing job satisfaction, investment in the nursing profession, and self - sacrifice for the nursing profession.
4. **Caring Behavior Assessment Report (Care - Q)**: It contains 57 items, divided into six dimensions: accessibility, explanation and facilitation, comfort, foresight, trust relationship, monitoring, and follow - up.
### Research Results
- **Critical - Thinking Disposition**: Although after the nursing internship program, the total score and the scores of each dimension of the students' critical - thinking disposition increased, the differences were not significant (p > 0.05).
- **Professional Commitment**: After the nursing internship program, the total score and the scores of each dimension of the students' professional commitment did not change significantly (p > 0.05).
- **Caring Behavior**: After the nursing internship program, the total score and the scores of each dimension of the students' caring behavior increased significantly (p < 0.05).
### Conclusion
Based on the research results, nursing educators are advised to adopt strategies to improve the effectiveness of the nursing internship program in terms of the critical - thinking disposition and professional commitment of senior - year nursing undergraduates. Although the nursing internship program has shown a positive impact on enhancing students' caring behavior, further improvement is still needed in enhancing critical - thinking disposition and professional commitment. The researchers suggest that educational administrators and policy - makers should consider the advantages and disadvantages of these programs and develop and implement more effective nursing internship programs from the perspectives of students and educators.
