Abstract:Multiple elliptic polylogarithms can be written as (multiple) integrals of products of basic hypergeometric functions. The latter are computable, to arbitrary precision, using a q-difference equation and q-contiguous relations.

Abstract:We describe a uniform way of obtaining basic hypergeometric functions as limits of the elliptic beta integral. This description gives rise to the construction of a polytope with a different basic hypergeometric function attached to each face of this polytope. We can subsequently obtain various relations, such as transformations and three-term relations, of these functions by considering geometrical properties of this polytope. The most general functions we describe in this way are sums of two very-well-poised ${}_{10}\phi_9$'s and their Nassrallah-Rahman type integral representation.

Abstract:We present explicit expressions for multi-fold logarithmic integrals that are equivalent to sums over polygamma functions at integer argument. Such relations find application in perturbative quantum field theory, quantum chemistry, analytic number theory, and elsewhere. The analysis includes the use of properties of a variety of special functions.

Abstract:Ohno and Zagier (Indag Math 12:483–487, 2001) found that a generating function of sums of multiple polylogarithms can be written in terms of the Gauss hypergeometric function . As a generalization of the Ohno and Zagier formula, Ihara et al. (Can J Math 76:1–17, 2022) showed that a generating function of sums of interpolated multiple polylogarithms of Hurwitz type can be expressed in terms of the generalized hypergeometric function . In this paper, we establish q - and elliptic analogues of this result. We introduce elliptic q -multiple polylogarithms of Hurwitz type and study a generating function of sums of them. By taking the trigonometric and classical limits in the main theorem, we can obtain q - and elliptic generalizations of the Ihara, Kusunoki, Nakamura and Saeki formula.

Abstract:Motivated by our previous work on hypergeometric functions and the parbelos constant, we perform a deeper investigation on the interplay among generalized complete elliptic integrals, Fourier–Legendre (FL) series expansions, and Fqp series. We produce new hypergeometric transformations and closed-form evaluations for new series involving harmonic numbers, through the use of the integration method outlined as follows: Letting K denote the complete elliptic integral of the first kind, for a suitable function g we evaluate integrals such as∫01K(x)g(x)dx in two different ways: (1) by expanding K as a Maclaurin series, perhaps after a transformation or a change of variable, and then integrating term-by-term; and (2) by expanding g as a shifted FL series, and then integrating term-by-term. Equating the expressions produced by these two approaches often gives us new closed-form evaluations, as in the formulas involving Catalan's constant G∑n=0∞(2nn)2Hn+14−Hn−1416n=Γ4(14)8π2−4Gπ,∑m,n≥0(2mm)2(2nn)216m+n(m+n+1)(2m+3)=7ζ(3)−4Gπ2.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal E$ be a complex elliptic curve and $S$ be a non-empty finite subset of $\mathcal E$. We show that the functions $\tilde\Gamma$ introduced in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1712.07089" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1712.07089">arXiv:1712.07089</a> out of string theory motivations give rise to a basis of the minimal algebra $A_{\mathcal E\smallsetminus S}$ of holomorphic multivalued functions on $\mathcal E\smallsetminus S$ which is stable under integration, introduced in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2212.03119" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2212.03119">arXiv:2212.03119</a>; this basis is alternative to the basis of $A_{\mathcal E\smallsetminus S}$ constructed in loc. cit. using elliptic analogues of the hyperlogarithm functions.

Abstract:We give a brief account of the key properties of elliptic hypergeometric integrals -- a relatively recently discovered top class of transcendental special functions of hypergeometric type. In particular, we describe an elliptic generalization of Euler's and Selberg's beta integrals, elliptic analogue of the Euler-Gauss hypergeometric function and some multivariable elliptic hypergeometric functions on root systems. The elliptic Fourier transformation and corresponding integral Bailey lemma technique is outlined together with a connection to the star-triangle relation and Coxeter relations for a permutation group. We review also the interpretation of elliptic hypergeometric integrals as superconformal indices of four dimensional supersymmetric quantum field theories and corresponding applications to Seiberg type dualities.

Schottky-Kronecker forms and hyperelliptic polylogarithms

Abstract:Elliptic polylogarithms can be defined as iterated integrals on a genus-one Riemann surface of a set of integration kernels whose generating series was already considered by Kronecker in the 19th century. In this article, we employ the Schottky parametrization of a Riemann surface to construct higher-genus analogues of Kronecker's generating series, which we refer to as Schottky-Kronecker forms. Our explicit construction generalizes ideas from Bernard's higher-genus construction of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov connection. Integration kernels generated from the Schottky-Kronecker forms are defined as Poincaré series. Under technical assumptions, related to the convergence of these Poincaré series on the underlying Riemann surface, we argue that these integration kernels coincide with a set of differentials defined by Enriquez, whose iterated integrals constitute higher-genus analogues of polylogarithms. Enriquez' original definition is not well-suited for numerical evaluation of higher-genus polylogarithms. In contrast, the Poincaré series defining our integration kernels can be evaluated numerically for real hyperelliptic curves, for which the above-mentioned convergence assumptions can be verified. We numerically evaluate several examples of genus-two polylogarithms, thereby paving the way for numerical evaluation of hyperelliptic analogues of polylogarithms.

Abstract:Ismail and Wilson derived a generating function for Askey--Wilson polynomials which is given by a product of $q$-Gauss (Heine) nonterminating basic hypergeometric functions. We provide a generalization of that generating function which contains an extra parameter. A special case gives a closed form summation formula for a quadruple basic hypergeometric sum. Using the Ismail--Wilson generating function combined with explicit summations for terminating balanced basic hypergeometric $_4\phi_3$ series, we compute new basic hypergeometric product transformations for nonterminating basic hypergeometric series and provide corresponding integral representations.

Hyperelliptic Continued Fractions and Generalized Jacobians

Abstract:For a complex polynomial $D(t)$ of even degree, one may define the continued fraction of $\sqrt{D(t)}$. This was found relevant already by Abel in 1826, and later by Chebyshev, concerning integration of (hyperelliptic) differentials; they realized that, contrary to the classical case of square roots of positive integers treated by Lagrange and Galois, we do not always have pre-periodicity of the partial quotients. In this paper we shall prove that, however, a correct analogue of Lagrange's theorem still exists in full generality: pre-periodicity of the {\it degrees} of the partial quotients always holds. Apparently, this fact was never noted before. This also yields a corresponding formula for the degrees of the convergents, for which we shall prove new bounds which are generally best possible (halving the known ones). We shall further study other aspects of the continued fraction, like the growth of the heights of partial quotients. Throughout, some striking phenomena appear, related to the geometry of (generalized) Hyperelliptic Jacobians. Another conclusion central in this paper concerns the poles of the convergents: there can be only finitely many rational ones which occur infinitely many times. (This is crucial for applications to a function field version of a question of McMullen.) Our methods rely, among other things, on linking Padé approximants and convergents with divisor relations in generalized Jacobians; this shall allow an application of a version for algebraic groups, proved in this paper, of the Skolem-Mahler-Lech theorem.

Abstract:Our investigation is motivated essentially by the demonstrated applications of the basic (or q-) series and basic (or q-) polynomials, especially the basic (or q-) hypergeometric functions and basic (or q-) hypergeometric polynomials, in many diverse areas. Here, in this paper, we use two q-operators T(a,b,c,d,e,yDx) and E(a,b,c,d,e,y theta x) to derive two potentially useful generalizations of the q-binomial theorem, a set of two extensions of the q-Chu-Vandermonde summation formula and two new generalizations of the Andrews-Askey integral by means of the q-difference equations. We also briefly describe relevant connections of various special cases and consequences of our main results with a number of known results.

General Berndt-Type Integrals and Series Associated with Jacobi Elliptic Functions

Abstract:In this paper, we prove two structural theorems on the general Berndt-type integrals with the denominator having arbitrary positive degrees by contour integrations involving hyperbolic and trigonometric functions, and hyperbolic sums associated with Jacobi elliptic functions. We first establish explicit relations between these integrals and four classes of hyperbolic sums. Then, using our previous results on hyperbolic series and applying the matrix method from linear algebra, we compute explicitly several general hyperbolic sums and their higher derivatives. These enable us to express two families of general Berndt-type integrals as polynomials in $\Gamma^4(1/4)$ and $\pi^{-1}$ with rational coefficients, where $\Gamma$ is the Euler gamma function. At the end of the paper, we provide some conjectures of general Berndt-type integrals.

We provide an algebraic proof of these formulas by using algebraic relations between associators arising from the $S_3$-symmetry of the projective line minus three points.

Abstract:Hypergeometric functions of one and many variables play an important role in various branches of modern physics and mathematics. We often encounter hypergeometric functions with indices linearly dependent on a small parameter with respect to which we need to perform Laurent expansions. Moreover, it is desirable that such expansions be expressed in terms of well-known functions that can be evaluated with arbitrary precision. To solve this problem, we use the method of differential equations and the reduction of corresponding differential systems to a canonical basis. In this paper, we are interested in the generalized hypergeometric functions of one variable and in the Appell and Lauricella functions and their expansions in terms of the Goncharov polylogarithms. Particular attention is paid to the case of rational indices of the considered hypergeometric functions when the reduction to the canonical basis involves a nontrivial variable change. The paper comes with a Mathematica package Diogenes , which provides an algorithmic implementation of the required steps.

Abstract:Abstract By using the method of iterated integral representations of series, we establish some explicit relationships between multiple zeta values and integrals of logarithmic functions. As applications of these relations, we show that multiple zeta values of the form $$\begin{array}{} \zeta ( {\bar 1,{{\left\{ 1 \right\}}_{m - 1}},\bar 1,{{\left\{ 1 \right\}}_{k - 1}}} ),\qquad (k,m\in \mathbb{N}) \end{array} $$ for m = 1 or k = 1, and $$\begin{array}{} \zeta ( {\bar 1,{{\left\{ 1 \right\}}_{m - 1}},p,{{\left\{ 1 \right\}}_{k - 1}}}),\qquad (k,m\in\mathbb{N}) \end{array} $$ for p = 1 and 2, satisfy certain recurrence relations which allow us to write them in terms of zeta values, polylogarithms and ln 2. Furthermore, we also obtain reductions for certain multiple polylogarithmic values at $\begin{array}{} \frac {1}{2} \end{array} $ .

Abstract:Hyperbolic beta integrals are analogues of Euler's beta integral in which the role of Euler's gamma function is taken over by Ruijsenaars' hyperbolic gamma function. They may be viewed as $(q,\widetilde{q})$-bibasic analogues of the beta integral in which the two bases $q$ and $\widetilde{q}$ are interrelated by modular inversion, and they entail $q$-analogues of the beta integral for $|q|=1$. The integrals under consideration are the hyperbolic analogues of the Ramanujan integral, the Askey-Wilson integral and the Nassrallah-Rahman integral. We show that the hyperbolic Nassrallah-Rahman integral is a formal limit case of Spiridonov's elliptic Nassrallah-Rahman integral.

Abstract:This research article explores some new properties of generalized hypergeometric function and its q-analogue. The connections between ${}_{2}{{R}_{1}}^{\upsilon }(\mathfrak{z})$, the Wright function, and generalized Mittag-Leffler functions are explored. The authors introduce the q-analogue of generalized hypergeometric function denoted by ${}_{2}{{R}_{1}}^{\upsilon ,q}(\mathfrak{z})$ and discuss its properties and connections with q-Wright function and q-versions of generalized Mittag-Leffler functions. We get the q-integral transforms such as q-Mellin, q-Euler (beta), q-Laplace, q-sumudu, and q-natural transforms of Wright-type generalized q-hypergeometric function. This article contributes to the understanding of hypergeometric functions in q-calculus.
