Abstract:We study the energy-critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation with randomised initial data in dimensions $d>6$. We prove that the Cauchy problem is almost surely globally well-posed with scattering for randomised super-critical initial data in $H^s(\mathbb{R}^d)$ whenever $s>\max\{\frac{4d-1}{3(2d-1)},\frac{d^2+6d-4}{(2d-1)(d+2)}\}$. The randomisation is based on a decomposition of the data in physical space, frequency space and the angular variable. This extends previously known results of Spitz in dimension 4. The main difficulty in the generalisation to high dimensions is the non-smoothness of the nonlinearity.

Abstract:We consider the wave and Klein-Gordon equations on the real hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^{n}$ ($n \geq2$) in a framework based on weak-$L^{p}$ spaces. First, we establish dispersive estimates on Lorentz spaces in the context of $\mathbb{H}^{n}$. Then, employing those estimates, we prove global well-posedness of solutions and an exponential asymptotic stability property. Moreover, we develop a scattering theory and construct wave operators in such singular framework.

Abstract:We consider the defocusing energy-critical inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation (INLS) $iu_t + \Delta u = |x|^{-b}|u|^{k}u$ in $\mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}^{n}$ where $n \geq 3$, $0<b<\min(2, n/2)$, and $k=(4-2b)/(n-2)$. We show that for every spherically symmetric initial data $\phi \in H^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$, or preferably $\dot{H}^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$, the solution is globally well-posed and scatters for every such $n$ and $b$ except for $n=4$ with $1\leq b<2$ and $n=5$ with $1/2\leq b\leq 5/4$. We mainly apply the arguments of Tao (2005), but inspired by the work of Aloui and Tayachi (2021), we utilize Lorentz spaces to define spacetime norms. This method is distinct from the widespread concentration compactness principle and establishes a quantitative bound for the solution's spacetime norm. The bound has an exponential form $C\exp(CE[\phi]^C)$ in terms of the energy $E[\phi]$, similar to Tao's work.

Abstract:In this work, we consider the inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger (INLS) equation in $\mathbb{R}^n$ \begin{align} i\partial_t u + \Delta u + \gamma |x|^{-b}|u|^{\alpha} u = 0, \end{align} where $\gamma=\pm 1$, and $\alpha$ and $b$ are positive numbers. Our main focus is to estabilish the global well-posedness of the INLS equation in Lorentz spaces for $0<b<2$ and $\alpha<\frac{4-2b}{N-2}$. To achieve this, we use Strichartz estimates in Lorentz spaces $L^{r,q}(\R^n)$ combined with a fixed point argument. Working on Lorentz space setting instead the classical $L^p$ is motivated by the fact that the potential $|x|^{-b}$ does not belong the usual $L^p$-space. As a consequence of the ideas developed here on the global solution study we obtain some other properties for INLS, such as, existence of self-similar solutions, scattering, wave operators and assymptotic stability.

Abstract:We consider the focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation $i u_t + \Delta u + |u|^{p-1}u=0$, $p>1,$ and the generalized Hartree equation $iv_t + \Delta v + (|x|^{-(N-\gamma)}\ast |v|^p)|v|^{p-2}u=0$, $p\geq2$, $\gamma<N$, in the mass-supercritical and energy-subcritical setting. With the initial data $u_0\in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$ the characterization of solutions behavior under the mass-energy threshold is known for the NLS case from the works of Holmer and Roudenko in the radial [16] and Duyckaerts, Holmer and Roudenko in the nonradial setting [10] and further generalizations (see [1,11,14]); for the generalized Hartree case it is developed in [2]. In particular, scattering is proved following the road map developed by Kenig and Merle [17], using the concentration compactness and rigidity approach, which is now standard in the dispersive problems. In this work we give an alternative proof of scattering for both NLS and gHartree equations in the radial setting in the inter-critical regime, following the approach of Dodson and Murphy [8] for the focusing 3d cubic NLS equation, which relies on the scattering criterion of Tao [27], combined with the radial Sobolev and Morawetz-type estimates. We first generalize it in the NLS case, and then extend it to the nonlocal Hartree-type potential. This method provides a simplified way to prove scattering, which may be useful in other contexts.

Abstract:We consider the focusing inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation \[ i\partial_t u + \Delta u + |x|^{-b}|u|^\alpha u = 0\qtq{on}\R\times\R^N, \] with $\alpha=\tfrac{4-2b}{N-2}$, $N=\{3,4,5\}$ and $0<b\leq \min\Big\{\tfrac{6-N}{2},\tfrac{4}{N}$\Big\}. This paper establishes global well-posedness and scattering for the non-radial energy-critical case in $\dot{H}^1(\R^N)$. It extends the previous research by Murphy and the first author \cite{GM}, which focused on the case $(N,\alpha,b)=(3,2,1)$. The novelty here, beyond considering higher dimensions, lies in our assumption of the condition $\sup_{t\in I}\|\nabla u(t)\|_{L^2}<\|\nabla Q\|_{L^2}$, which is weaker than the condition stated in \cite{Guzman}. Consequently, if a solution has energy and kinetic energy less than the ground state $Q$ at some point, then the solution is global and scatters. Moreover, we show scattering for the defocusing case. On the other hand, in this work, we also investigate the blow-up issue with nonradial data for $N\geq 3$ in $H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$. Abstract:In the article, we prove the large data scattering for two models, i.e. the defocusing quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation on R2 × T and the defocusing cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation on R3 × T. Both of the two equations are mass supercritical and energy critical. The main ingredients of the proofs contain global Stricharz estimate, profile decomposition and energy induction method. This paper is the second project of our series work (two papers, together with [31]) on large data scattering for the defocusing critical NLS with integer index nonlinearity on low dimensional waveguides. At this point, this category of problems are almost solved except for two remaining resonant system conjectures and the quintic NLS problem on R×T.

Abstract:We consider the focusing energy-critical inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation \[ iu_t + \Delta u = -|x|^{-b}|u|^{\alpha}u \] where $n \geq 3$, $0<b<\min(2, n/2)$, and $\alpha=(4-2b)/(n-2)$. We prove the global well-posedness and scattering for every $n \geq 3$, $0<b<\min(2, n/2)$, and every non-radial initial data $\phi \in \dot{H}^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$ by the concentration compactness arguments of Kenig and Merle (2006) as in the work of Guzman and Murphy (2021). Lorentz spaces are adopted during the development of the stability theory in critical spaces as in Killip and Visan (2013). The result improves multiple earlier works by providing a unified approach to the scattering problem, accepting both focusing and defocusing cases, and eliminating the radial-data assumption and additional restrictions to the range of $n$ and $b$.

Abstract:We prove global well-posedness and scattering for solutions to the mass-critical inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation $i\partial_{t}u+\Delta u=\pm |x|^{-b}|u|^{\frac{4-2b}{d}}u$ for large $L^2(\mathbb{R} ^d)$ initial data with $d\ge3,0<b<\min \left\{ 2,\frac{d}{2} \right\}$; in the focusing case, we require that the mass is strictly less than that of the ground state. Compared with the classical Schrödinger case ($b=0$, Dodson, J. Amer. Math. Soc. (2012), Adv. Math. (2015)), the main differences for the inhomogeneous case ($b>0$) are that the presence of the inhomogeneity $|x|^{-b}$ creates a nontrivial singularity at the origin, and breaks the translation symmetry as well as the Galilean invariance of the equation, which makes the establishment of the profile decomposition and long time Strichartz estimates more difficult. To overcome these difficulties, we perform the concentration compactness/rigidity methods of [Kenig and Merle, Invent. Math. (2006)] in the Lorentz space framework, and reduces the problem to the exclusion of almost periodic solutions. The exclusion of these solutions will utilize fractional estimates and long time Strichartz estimates in Lorentz spaces. In our study, we obseve that the decay of the inhomogeneity $|x|^{-b}$ at infinity prevents the concentration of the almost periodic solution at infinity in either physical or frequency space. Therefore, we can use classical Morawetz estimates, rather than interaction Morawetz estimates, to exclude the existence of the quasi-soliton.

Abstract:We consider a class of power-type nonlinear Schrödinger equations for which the power of the nonlinearity lies between the mass- and energy-critical exponents.
