Abstract:We present recent results in semileptonic and non-leptonic exclusive $B_c$ decays to charmonium states both in $S$-wave, $J/\psi$ and $\eta_c$, and in $P$-wave, $\chi_{cJ}$ and $h_c$. The analysis, based on the heavy quark spin symmetry (HQSS), produces relations among form factors that parametrize the hadronic matrix elements in the amplitudes of the decays. These relations are helpful to control the hadronic uncertainty affecting these processes. Furthermore, $B_c$ decays allow us to get hints on the structure of states like $\chi_{c1}(3872)$, whose exotic or ordinary charmonium nature is debated.

Abstract:Rare flavour changing neutral current decays are sensitive indirect probes for new effects beyond the Standard Model (SM). In the SM, these decays are forbidden at tree level and are therefore loop-suppressed. In SM extensions, new, heavy particles can significantly contribute and affect both their branching fractions as well as their angular distributions. The rare decay $B^0\to K^{*0}(\to K^+\pi^-)\mu^+\mu^-$ is of particular interest, since it gives access to many angular observables, allowing to model-independently test the operator structure of the decay. A previous analysis of the angular distributions of the final state particles showed interesting tensions with SM predictions using the data sample taken by the LHCb detector during 2011. These proceedings will summarize latest results on rare decays from the LHCb experiment with emphasis on the angular analysis of the decay $B^0\to K^{*0}\mu^+\mu^-$, using the full Run I data sample of the LHCb experiment.

Abstract:LHCb is a dedicated heavy flavour physics precision experiment at the LHC searching for New Physics (NP) beyond the Standard Model (SM) through the study of very rare decays of beauty and charm-flavoured hadrons and precision measurements of CP-violating observables. In this review I will present a selection of recent precision measurements of CP-violating observables in the decays of beauty and charm-flavoured hadrons. These measurements are based on an integrated luminosity of up to $1.0 \rm{fb}^{-1}$ collected by LHCb in 2011.

Abstract:We present recent results on charmless hadronic B decays using data collected by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. We report measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries in several charmless two-body, three-body, and quasi-two-body decay modes. We also report measurements of polarization in charmless B decays to exclusive final states with two vector mesons.

Abstract:Flavour changing neutral currents are suppressed in the Standard Model, making them a prime avenue to search for new physics. Although several measurements of the decay $B^{0}\to{}K^{\ast{}0}\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ have shown deviations from the Standard Model expectations, long-distance contributions may be imitating new physics. Here, the first amplitude analysis of $B^{0}\to{}K^{\ast{}0}\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ is carried out to try and discern such effects.

Abstract:The discovery of CP violation in charm sector in 2019 was a milestone in searches performed over last decades. The $\Delta A_{CP}$ measured by LHCb is at the upper end of the Standard Model predictions. This triggers many interpretations involving New Physics origins, and calls for more experimental input to clarify the picture. Recent LHCb measurements of CP violation in decays of charmed mesons are presented in these proceedings.

Abstract:This report introduces two recent measurements of semileptonic $b$-hadron decays at the LHCb experiment, including a test of Lepton Flavour Universality (LFU) using $\bar{B}^0 \to D^{(*)+} l^- \bar{\nu}_l$ decays where $l\in\{\mu,\tau\}$, and a study of the $D^{*+}$ longitudinal polarisation in the $\bar{B}^0 \to D^{*+} \tau^- \bar{\nu}_\tau$ decay. With the inclusion of the new results of the LFU ratios, the world average on $R(D)$ and $R(D^*)$, still shows a tension over three standard deviations from the SM prediction, while the measured $D^{*+}$ longitudinal polarisation is compatible with the SM value.

Search of CP violation in baryons with the LHCb detector

Abstract:The latest results from the LHCb collaboration for the search for $CP$ violation in $b$-baryon decays are reported here. The first article presented is the search conducted in the $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow p \pi^- \pi^+ \pi^- $ decay, and the subsequent observation of $P$ violation. The following paper describes the search and the first observation of the $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow D^0 p K^-$ decay, with $D^0 \rightarrow K \pi$, Cabibbo-favoured and doubly suppressed mode. This proceeding concludes with the first amplitude analysis performed in $\Xi_b^- \rightarrow p K^- K^-$, whose model allows for \textit{CP} violation.

Abstract:Observations in astronomy suggest that our Universe contains an abundance of matter over antimatter, which can only be explained if the combined CP symmetry is violated. Studies of CP violation have driven the flavor physics with the aim of testing the Standard Model of particle physics and searching for physics beyond it. CP violation is discovered in strange, beauty, and charm meson systems; however, no conclusive sign of CP violation in baryon decays has been observed yet. This review summarizes CP violation studies performed by the LHCb experiment in charmless decays and rare decays of beauty baryons and singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays of charm baryons. A brief on prospects for future LHCb measurements is also discussed.

CP violation measurements in three-body charmless B decays

Abstract:This study reports \textit{CP} asymmetry measurements in charmless three-body decays of \textit{B} mesons, both using the Run II data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 $TeV$, collected by the LHCb detector from 2015 to 2018, with an integrated luminosity of 5.9 $fb^{-1}$. Significant \textit{CP} asymmetries are observed in $B^\pm \rightarrow \pi^\pm \pi^+ \pi^- $ and $B^\pm \rightarrow K^\pm K^+ K^- $ decays, while the previously observed asymmetry in $B^\pm \rightarrow \pi^\pm K^+ K^- $ decays is confirmed, and the \textit{CP} asymmetry of $B^\pm \rightarrow K^\pm \pi^+ \pi^- $ decays is found to be compatible with zero. Additionally, a new method is used to measure the \textit{CP} asymmetry in charmless $B \rightarrow PV$ decays, showing significant asymmetry in $B^\pm \rightarrow K^\pm \pi^+ \pi^- $ decays dominated by $\rho(770)$, representing the first observation of \textit{CP} violation in this process. Other decay channels show \textit{CP} asymmetries compatible with zero.

Abstract:Measurements of $C\!P$ violation and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix in beauty and charm hadron decays are the core business of the LHCb physics programme. In this contribution, the most recent measurements performed by the LHCb collaboration on this topic are reported. The most precise measurement of time-dependent $C\!P$ asymmetry parameters in $B_s^0 \to \phi \phi$ decays has been done, providing results fully compatible with Standard Model expectations. The polarisation-dependent $C\!P$-violation parameters of the same decay are measured for the first time. The combination of beauty and charm results gives $\gamma = \left( 63.8^{+3.5}_{-3.7} \right)^\circ$. The first search for local $C\!P$ violation in $D_{(s)}^+ \to K^- K^+ K^+$ has been performed, resulting in no local $C\!P$ violation observed. The measurement of time-integrated $C\!P$ violation in $D^0 \to K^- K^+$ decays, combined with previous measurements performed by LHCb, provides evidence of direct $C\!P$ violation in charm in a single decay channel at the level of $3.8$ standard deviations.
