Abstract:Let $G$ be a group. The subsets $A_1,\ldots,A_k$ of $G$ form a complete factorization of group $G$ if if they are pairwise disjoint and each element $g\in G$ is uniquely represented as $g=a_1\ldots a_k$, with $a_i\in A_i$. We prove the following theorem: Let $G$ be a finite nilpotent group. If $|G|=m_1\ldots m_k$ where $m_1,\ldots,m_k$ are integers greater $1$ and $k\geq3$, then there exist subsets $A_1,\ldots,A_k$ of $G$ which form a complete factorization of group $G$ and $|A_i|=m_i$ for all $i=1,2,\ldots,k$. In addition, we give several examples of building complete factorization for some groups and formulate one open question.

Abstract:Given two positive integers l and m, with l \le m, an [l,m]-covering of a graph G is a set M of matchings of G whose union is the edge set of G and such that l \le |L| \le m for every matching L of M. An [l,m]-covering M of G is an excessive [l,m]-factorization of G if the cardinality of M is as small as possible. The number of matchings in an excessive [l,m]-factorization of G (or \infty, if G does not admit an excessive [l,m]-factorization) is a graph parameter called the excessive [l,m]-index of G and denoted by \chi'[l,m](G). In this paper we study such parameter. Our main result is a general formula for the excessive [l,m]-index of a graph G in terms of other graph parameters. Furthermore, we give a polynomial time algorithm which computes \chi'[l,m](G) and outputs an excessive [l,m]-factorization of G, whenever the latter exists.

Abstract:This thesis concerns the study of homogeneous factorisations of complete graphs with edge-transitive factors. A factorisation of a complete graph $K_n$ is a partition of its edges into disjoint classes. Each class of edges in a factorisation of $K_n$ corresponds to a spanning subgraph called a factor. If all the factors are isomorphic to one another, then a factorisation of $K_n$ is called an isomorphic factorisation. A homogeneous factorisation of a complete graph is an isomorphic factorisation where there exists a group $G$ which permutes the factors transitively, and a normal subgroup $M$ of $G$ such that each factor is $M$-vertex-transitive. If $M$ also acts edge-transitively on each factor, then a homogeneous factorisation of $K_n$ is called an edge-transitive homogeneous factorisation. The aim of this thesis is to study edge-transitive homogeneous factorisations of $K_n$. We achieve a nearly complete explicit classification except for the case where $G$ is an affine 2-homogeneous group of the form $Z_p^R \rtimes G_0$, where $G_0 \leq \Gamma L(1,p^R)$. In this case, we obtain necessary and sufficient arithmetic conditions on certain parameters for such factorisations to exist, and give a generic construction that specifies the homogeneous factorisation completely, given that the conditions on the parameters hold. Moreover, we give two constructions of infinite families of examples where we specify the parameters explicitly. In the second infinite family, the arc-transitive factors are generalisations of certain arc-transitive, self-complementary graphs constructed by Peisert in 2001.

Abstract:Let $G$ denote a graph and $k\geq2$ be an integer. A $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$-factor of $G$ is a spanning subgraph, whose every connected component is isomorphic to an element of $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$, where $\mathcal{T}(2k+1)$ is one special family of tree. In this paper, we put forward some sufficient conditions for the existence of $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$-factors in graphs. Furthermore, we construct some extremal graphs to show that the main results in this paper are best possible.

A note on Hamilton decompositions of even-regular multigraphs

Abstract:In this note, we prove that every even regular multigraph on $n$ vertices with multiplicity at most $r$ and minimum degree at least $rn/2 + o(n)$ has a Hamilton decomposition. This generalises a result of Vaughan who proved an asymptotic version of the multigraph $1$-factorisation conjecture. We derive our result by proving a more general result which states that dense regular multidigraphs that are robust outexpanders have a Hamilton decomposition. This in turn is derived from the corresponding result of Kühn and Osthus about simple digraphs.

Abstract:A finite graph $\Gamma$ is $G$-symmetric if it admits $G$ as a group of automorphisms acting transitively on $V(\Gamma)$ and transitively on the set of ordered pairs of adjacent vertices of $\Gamma$. If $V(\Gamma)$ admits a nontrivial $G$-invariant partition ${\cal B}$ such that for blocks $B, C \in {\cal B}$ adjacent in the quotient graph $\Gamma_{{\cal B}}$ relative to ${\cal B}$, exactly one vertex of $B$ has no neighbour in $C$, then we say that $\Gamma$ is an almost multicover of $\Gamma_{{\cal B}}$. In this case there arises a natural incidence structure ${\cal D}(\Gamma, {\cal B})$ with point set ${\cal B}$. If in addition $\Gamma_{{\cal B}}$ is a complete graph, then ${\cal D}(\Gamma, {\cal B})$ is a $(G, 2)$-point-transitive and $G$-block-transitive $2$-$(|{\cal B}|, m+1, \lambda)$ design for some $m \geq 1$, and moreover either $\lambda=1$ or $\lambda=m+1$. In this paper we classify such graphs in the case when $\lambda = m+1$; this together with earlier classifications when $\lambda = 1$ gives a complete classification of almost multicovers of complete graphs.
Totally ordered pseudo q-factorization graphs and prime factorization

Abstract:In an earlier publication, the last two authors showed that a finite-dimensional module for a quantum affine algebra of type $A$ whose $q$-factorization graph is totally ordered is prime. In this paper, we continue the investigation of the role of totally ordered pseudo $q$-factorization graphs in the study of the monoidal structure of the underlying abelian category. We introduce the notions of modules with (prime) snake support and of maximal totally ordered subgraphs decompositions. Our main result shows that modules with snake support have unique such decomposition and that it determines the corresponding prime factorization. Along the way, we also prove that prime snake modules (for type $A$) can be characterized as the modules for which every pseudo $q$-factorization graph is totally ordered.

Abstract:Let G be a graph and be a set of connected graphs. A spanning subgraph H of G is called an –factor if each component of H is isomorphic to a member of . In this paper, we first present a lower bound on the size (resp. the spectral radius) of G to guarantee that G has a –factor (or a perfect k –matching for even k ) and construct extremal graphs to show all this bounds are best possible. We then provide a lower bound on the signless laplacian spectral radius of G to ensure that G has a –factor, where is an integer. Moreover, we also provide some Laplacian eigenvalue (resp. toughness) conditions for the existence of –factor, –factor and –factor in G , respectively. Some of our results extend or improve the related existing results.

Equitable factorizations of highly edge-connected graphs: complete characterizations

Abstract:In this paper, we show that every highly edge-connected graph $G$, under a necessary and sufficient degree condition, can be edge-decomposed into $k$ factors $G_1,\ldots, G_k$ such that for each vertex $v\in V(G_i)$ with $1\le i\le k$, $|d_{G_i}(v)-d_G(v)/k|<1$. This characterization covers graphs having at least $k-1$ vertices with degree not divisible by $k$. In addition, we investigate almost equitable factorizations in arbitrary edge-connected graphs. Next, we establish a simpler criterion for the existence of factorizations $G_1,\ldots, G_k$ satisfying $d_{G_i}(v)\ge \lfloor d_G(v)/k\rfloor$ for all vertices $v$ (reps. $d_{G_i}(v)\le \lceil d_G(v)/k\rceil$). As an application, we come up with a criterion to determine whether a highly edge-connected graph with $\delta(G)\ge \delta_1+\cdots+ \delta_m$ (resp. $\Delta(G)\le \Delta_1+\cdots+ \Delta_m$) can be edge-decomposed into factors $G_1,\ldots, G_m$ satisfying $\delta(G_i)\ge \delta_i$ (resp. $\Delta(G_i)\le \Delta_i$) for all $i$ with $1\le i \le m$, provided that $\delta_1+\cdots+ \delta_m$ is divisible by an odd number $p$ and $\delta_i\ge p-1\ge 2$ (resp. $\Delta_1+\cdots+ \Delta_m$ is divisible by $p$ and $\Delta_i\ge p-1\ge 2$). For graphs of even order, we replace an odd-edge-connectivity condition. In particular, for the special case $m=2$, we refine the needed odd-edge-connectivity further by giving a sufficient odd-edge-connectivity condition for a graph $G$ to have a partial parity factor $F$ such that for each vertex $v$ with a given parity constraint, $| d_{F}(v)-\varepsilon d_G(v)|< 2$, and for all other vertices $v$, $| d_{F}(v)-\varepsilon d_G(v)|\le 1$, where $\varepsilon $ is a real number and $0< \varepsilon < 1$. Finally we introduce another application on the existence of almost even factorizations of odd-edge-connected graphs.

Abstract:Abstract For most classical and similitude groups, we show that each element can be written as a product of two transformations that preserve or almost preserve the underlying form and whose squares are certain scalar maps. This generalizes work of Wonenburger and Vinroot. As an application, we re-prove and slightly extend a well-known result of Mœglin, Vignéras, and Waldspurger on the existence of automorphisms of p -adic classical groups that take each irreducible smooth representation to its dual.

Abstract:For a graph $G = (V, E)$, a {\em fractional $[a, b]$-factor} is a real valued function $h:E(G)\to [0,1]$ that satisfies $a \le ~ \sum_{e\in E_G(v)} h(e) ~ \le b$ for all $ v\in V(G)$, where $a$ and $b$ are real numbers and $E_G(v)$ denotes the set of edges incident with $v$. In this paper, we prove that the condition $\mathit{iso}(G-S) \le (k+\frac{1}{2})|S|$ is equivalent to the existence of fractional $[1,k+ \frac{1}{2}]$-factors, where ${\mathit{iso}}(G-S)$ denotes the number of isolated vertices in $G-S$. Using fractional factors as a tool, we construct component factors under the given isolated conditions. Namely, (i) a graph $G$ has a $\{P_2,C_3,P_5, \mathcal{T}(3)\}$-factor if and only if $\mathit{iso}(G-S) \le \frac{3}{2}|S|$ for all $S\subset V(G)$; (ii) a graph $G$ has a $\{K_{1,1}, K_{1,2}, \ldots,$ $K_{1,k}, \mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$-factor ($k\ge 2$) if and only if $\mathit{iso}(G-S) \le (k+\frac{1}{2})|S|$ for all $S\subset V(G)$, where $\mathcal{T}(3)$ and $\mathcal{T}(2k+1)$ are two special families of trees.
Assembly of Constructible Factorization Algebras

Abstract:We provide a toolbox of extension, gluing, and assembly techniques for factorization algebras. Using these tools, we fill various gaps in the literature on factorization algebras on stratified manifolds, the main one being that constructible factorization algebras form a sheaf of symmetric monoidal $\infty$-categories. Additionally, we explain how to assemble constructible factorization algebras from the data on the individual strata together with module structures associated to the relative links; thus answering a question by Ayala. Along the way, we give detailed proofs of the following facts which are also of independent interest: constructibility is a local condition; the $\infty$-category of disks is a localization of any sufficiently fine poset of disks; constructibility implies the Weiss condition on disks; constructible factorization algebras are algebras for the $\infty$-operad of embedded disks. For each of these, variants or special cases already existed, but they were either incomplete or not general enough.

Pseudo and Strongly Pseudo 2--Factor Isomorphic Regular Graphs

Abstract:A graph $G$ is pseudo 2--factor isomorphic if the parity of the number of cycles in a 2--factor is the same for all 2--factors of $G$. In \cite{ADJLS} we proved that pseudo 2--factor isomorphic $k$--regular bipartite graphs exist only for $k \le 3$. In this paper we generalize this result for regular graphs which are not necessarily bipartite. We also introduce strongly pseudo 2--factor isomorphic graphs and we prove that pseudo and strongly pseudo 2--factor isomorphic 2k--regular graphs and $k$--regular digraphs do not exist for $k\geq 4$. Moreover, we present constructions of infinite families of regular graphs in these classes. In particular we show that the family of Flower snarks is strongly pseudo 2--factor isomorphic but not 2--factor isomorphic and we conjecture that, together with the Petersen and the Blanuša2 graphs, they are the only cyclically 4--edge--connected snarks for which each 2--factor contains only cycles of odd length.

Abstract:In this paper, we explore the concept of the ``matrix product of graphs," initially introduced by Prasad, Sudhakara, Sujatha, and M. Vinay. This operation involves the multiplication of adjacency matrices of two graphs with assigned labels, resulting in a weighted digraph. Our primary focus is on identifying graphs that can be expressed as the graphical matrix product of two other graphs. Notably, we establish that the only complete graph fitting this framework is $K_{4n+1}$, and moreover the factorization is not unique. In addition, the only complete bipartite graph that can be expressed as the graphical matrix product of two other graphs is $K_{2n,2m}$ Furthermore, we introduce several families of graphs that exhibit such factorization and, conversely, some families that do not admit any factorization such as wheel graphs, friendship graphs, hypercubes and paths.

Abstract:When applied to statistical systems showing an arctic curve phenomenon, the tangent method assumes that a modification of the most external path does not affect the arctic curve. We strengthen this statement and also make it more concrete by observing a factorization property: if $Z^{}_{n+k}$ denotes a refined partition function of a system of $n+k$ non-crossing paths, with the endpoints of the $k$ most external paths possibly displaced, then at dominant order in $n$, it factorizes as $Z^{}_{n+k} \simeq Z^{}_{n} Z_k^{\rm out}$ where $Z_k^{\rm out}$ is the contribution of the $k$ most external paths. Moreover if the shape of the arctic curve is known, we find that the asymptotic value of $Z_k^{\rm out}$ is fully computable in terms of the large deviation function $L$ introduced in \cite{DGR19} (also called Lagrangean function). We present detailed verifications of the factorization in the Aztec diamond and for alternating sign matrices by using exact lattice results. Reversing the argument, we reformulate the tangent method in a way that no longer requires an extension of the domain, and which reveals the hidden role of the $L$ function. As a by-product, the factorization property provides an efficient way to conjecture the asymptotics of multirefined partition functions.
