Abstract:We define Leavitt path algebras of hypergraphs generalizing simultaneously Leavitt path algebras of finitely separated graphs and Leavitt path algebras of row-finite vertex-weighted graphs. We find linear bases for those algebras, compute their Gelfand-Kirillov dimension, obtain some results on ring-theoretic properties like simplicity, von Neumann regularity and Noetherianess and investigate their K-theory and graded K-theory. By doing so we obtain new results on the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension and graded K-theory of Leavitt path algebras of separated graphs and on the graded K-theory of weighted Leavitt path algebras.

Abstract:We prove that the Bowen-Franks group classifies the Leavitt path algebras of purely infinite simple finite graphs over a regular supercoherent commutative ring with involution where $2$ is invertible, equipped with their standard involutions, up to matricial stabilization and involution preserving homotopy equivalence. We also consider a twisting of the standard involution on Leavitt path algebras and obtain partial results in the same direction for purely infinite simple graphs. Our tools are $K$-theoretic, and we prove several results about (Hermitian, bivariant) $K$-theory of Leavitt path algebras.

Abstract:In this paper, we develop structure theory for graded regular graded self-injective rings and apply it in the context of Leavitt path algebras. We show that for a finite graph, graded regular graded self-injective Leavitt path algebras are of graded type I and these are precisely graded $\Sigma$-$V$ Leavitt path algebras.

Abstract:This survey of the recent developments in the investigations of a Leavitt path algebra L of an arbitrary graph E over a field K consists of two parts. In the first part describes how very often a single graph property of E implies multiple ring properties of L, thus making Leavitt path algebras effective tools in constructing rings of various desirable properties. The second part describes methods of constructing simple modules over L and characterizes Leavitt path algebras all of whose simple modules possess some specific properties such as being flat, finitely presented,being graded, injective etc.

Abstract:Refining an idea of Rosenmann and Rosset we show that the now widely studied classical Leavitt algebra $L_K(1,n)$ over a field $K$ is a ring of right quotients of the unital free associative algebra of rank $n$ with respect to the perfect Gabriel topology defined by powers of an ideal of codimension 1, providing a conceptual, variable-free description of $L_K(1, n)$. This result puts Leavitt (path) algebras on the frontier of important research areas in localization theory, free ideal rings and their automorphism groups, quiver algebras and graph operator algebras. As applications one obtains a short, transparent proof for the module type $(1,n)\, (n\geq 2)$ of Leavitt algebra $L_K(1, n)\, (n\geq 2)$, and the fact that Leavitt path algebras of finite graphs are rings of quotients of corresponding ordinary quiver algebras with respect to the perfect Gabriel topology defined by powers of the ideal generated by all arrows and sinks. In particular, the Jacobson algebra of one-sided inverses, that is, the Toeplitz algebra, can also be realized as a flat ring of quotients, further illuminating the rich structure of these beautiful, useful algebras.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that the multiplicative group of a unital non-commutative Leavitt path algebra $L_K(E)$ and Cohn path algebra $C_K(E)$ contain a non-cyclic free subgroup, provided $K$ is a non-absolute field. We also provide a description of the generators of free subgroups in term of the graph $E$. Finally, we determine multiplicative groups of Leavitt path algebras of some special types.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a complete characterization of Leavitt path algebras which are graded $\Sigma $-$V$ rings, that is, rings over which a direct sum of arbitrary copies of any graded simple module is graded injective. Specifically, we show that a Leavitt path algebra $L$ over an arbitrary graph $E$ is a graded $\Sigma $-$V$ ring if and only if it is a subdirect product of matrix rings of arbitrary size but with finitely many non-zero entries over $K$ or $K[x,x^{-1}]$ with appropriate matrix gradings. We also obtain a graphical characterization of such a graded $\Sigma $-$V$ ring $L$% . When the graph $E$ is finite, we show that $L$ is a graded $\Sigma $-$V$ ring $\Longleftrightarrow L$ is graded directly-finite $\Longleftrightarrow L $ has bounded index of nilpotence $\Longleftrightarrow $ $L$ is graded semi-simple. Examples show that the equivalence of these properties in the preceding statement no longer holds when the graph $E$ is infinite. Following this, we also characterize Leavitt path algebras $L$ which are non-graded $\Sigma $-$V$ rings. Graded rings which are graded directly-finite are explored and it is shown that if a Leavitt path algebra $L$ is a graded $\Sigma$-$V$ ring, then $L$ is always graded directly-finite. Examples show the subtle differences between graded and non-graded directly-finite rings. Leavitt path algebras which are graded directly-finite are shown to be directed unions of graded semisimple rings. Using this, we give an alternative proof of a theorem of Vaš \cite{V} on directly-finite Leavitt path algebras.

Abstract:In this article, we construct (graded) automorphisms fixing all vertices of Leavitt path algebras of arbitrary graphs in terms of general linear groups over corners of these algebras. As an application, we study Zhang twist of Leavitt path algebras and describe new classes of irreducible representations of Leavitt path algebras of the rose graphs $R_n$ with $n$ petals.

Abstract:Let $E$ be a directed graph, $\mathbb K$ be a field, and $\mathbb F$ be the free group on the edges of $E$. In this work, we use the isomorphism between Leavitt path algebras and partial skew group rings to endow $L_{\mathbb K}(E)$ with an $\mathbb F$-gradation and study some algebraic properties of this gradation. More precisely, we show that graded cleanness, graded unit-regularity, and strong gradeness of $L_{\mathbb K}(E)$ are all equivalent.

Abstract:In this paper, we show that Leavitt path algebras of weighted graphs and Leavitt path algebras of separated graphs are intimately related. We prove that any Leavitt path algebra of a row-finite vertex weighted graph is -isomorphic to the lower Leavitt path algebra of a certain bipartite separated graph . For a general locally finite weighted graph , we show that a certain quotient of is -isomorphic to an upper Leavitt path algebra of another bipartite separated graph . We furthermore introduce the algebra , which is a universal tame -algebra generated by a set of partial isometries. We draw some consequences of our results for the structure of ideals of , and we study in detail two different maximal ideals of the Leavitt algebra .

Abstract:In this paper, we classify all Leavitt path algebras which have the property that every Lie ideal is an ideal. As an application, we show that Leavitt path algebras with this property provide a class of locally finite, infinite-dimensional Lie algebras whose locally solvable radical is completely determined. This particularly gives us a new class of semisimple Lie algebras over a field of prime characteristic.

Abstract:Let $E$ be a finite directed graph, and let $I$ be the poset obtained as the antisymmetrization of its set of vertices with respect to a pre-order $\le$ that satisfies $v\le w$ whenever there exists a directed path from $w$ to $v$. Assuming that $I$ is a tree, we define a poset of fields over $I$ as a family $\mathbf K = \{ K_i :i\in I \}$ of fields $K_i$ such that $K_i\subseteq K_j$ if $j\le i$. We define the concepts of a Leavitt path algebra $L_{\mathbf K} (E)$ and a regular algebra $Q_{\mathbf K}(E)$ over the poset of fields $\mathbf K$, and we show that $Q_{\mathbf K}(E)$ is a hereditary von Neumann regular ring, and that its monoid $\mathcal V (Q_{\mathbf K}(E))$ of isomorphism classes of finitely generated projective modules is canonically isomorphic to the graph monoid $M(E)$ of $E$.

Abstract:In this article, we study properties as simplicity, solvability and nilpotency for Lie bracket algebras arising from Leavitt path algebras, based on the talented monoid of the underlying graph. We show that graded simplicity and simplicity of the Leavitt path algebra can be connected via the Lie bracket algebra. Moreover, we use the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension for the Leavitt path algebra for a classification of nilpotency and solvability.

Abstract:In [8, 9] M. G. Corrales Garcia, D. M. Barquero, C. Martin Gonzalez, M. Siles Molina, J. F Solanilla Hernandez described the center of a Leavitt path algebra and characterized it in terms of the underlying graph. We offer a different characterization of the center. In particular, we prove that the Boolean algebra of central idempotents \ of a Leavitt path algebra of a finite graph is isomorphic to the Boolean algebra of finitary annihilator hereditary subsets of the graph.

Abstract:Adapting a recent work of Brannan et al., on extending graph $C^*$-algebras to Quantum graphs, we introduce "Quantum Quivers" as an analogue of quivers where the edge and vertex set has been replaced by a $C^*$-algebra and the maps between the sets by $*$-homomorphisms. Additionally, we develop the theory around these structures and construct a notion of Leavitt path algebra over them and also compute the monoid of finitely generated projective modules over this class of algebras.
