Abstract:Abstract Let $\mathfrak {g}$ be a complex semisimple Lie algebra with associated Yangian $Y_{\hbar }\mathfrak {g}$ . In the mid-1990s, Khoroshkin and Tolstoy formulated a conjecture which asserts that the algebra $\mathrm {D}Y_{\hbar }\mathfrak {g}$ obtained by doubling the generators of $Y_{\hbar }\mathfrak {g}$ , called the Yangian double, provides a realization of the quantum double of the Yangian. We provide a uniform proof of this conjecture over $\mathbb {C}[\kern-1.2pt\![{\hbar }]\!\kern-1.2pt]$ which is compatible with the theory of quantized enveloping algebras. As a by-product, we identify the universal R -matrix of the Yangian with the canonical element defined by the pairing between the Yangian and its restricted dual.

Abstract:Axial algebras are commutative nonassociative algebras generated by a finite set of primitive idempotents which action on an algebra is semisimple, and the fusion laws on the products between eigenvectors for these idempotents are fulfilled. We find the sufficient conditions in terms of the Frobenius form and of the properties of idempotents under which an axial algebra of Jordan type half is unital.

Abstract:We develop a $\mathtt{q}$-analogue of the theory of conjugation equivariant $\mathcal D$-modules on a complex reductive group $G$. In particular, we define quantum Hotta-Kashiwara modules and compute their endomorphism algebras. We use the Schur-Weyl functor of the second author, and develop tools from the corresponding double affine Hecke algebra to study this category in the cases $G=GL_N$ and $SL_N$. Our results also have an interpretation in skein theory (explored further in a sequel paper), namely a computation of the $GL_N$ and $SL_N$-skein algebra of the 2-torus.

Abstract:Solving systems of linear equations is important both in classical and quantum computing. Harrow-Hassidim-Lloyd algorithm (HHL algorithm), a quantum algorithm for solving systems of linear equations, has achieved exponentially improved performance compared with corresponding classical algorithm. We will show in this article that the HHL algorithm is actually a duality quantum algorithm with non-unitary transformation from initial to the final state. We present a detailed realization of the HHL algorithm in a duality quantum computing formalism that allows the construction of non-unitary operations. The divider structure, combinor structure, and the total quantum circuit for the HHL algorithm in the duality quantum computing formalism are given explicitly.

Abstract:This article gives matrix factorizations for the trivalent diagrams and double line appearing in $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ quantum link invariant. These matrix factorizations reconstruct Khovanov-Rozansky homology. And we show that the Euler characteristic of the matrix factorization for a double loop equals the quantum dimension of the representation $\land^2 V$ of $U_q (\mathfrak{sl}_n)$ in Section \ref{sec3.3}.

Abstract:The partial isometries of $\mathbb R^N,\mathbb C^N$ form compact semigroups $\widetilde{O}_N,\widetilde{U}_N$. We discuss here the liberation question for these semigroups, and for their discrete versions $\widetilde{H}_N,\widetilde{K}_N$. Our main results concern the construction of half-liberations $\widetilde{H}_N^\times,\widetilde{K}_N^\times,\widetilde{O}_N^\times,\widetilde{U}_N^\times$ and of liberations $\widetilde{H}_N^+,\widetilde{K}_N^+,\widetilde{O}_N^+,\widetilde{U}_N^+$. We include a detailed algebraic and probabilistic study of all these objects, justifying our "half-liberation" and "liberation" claims.

Abstract:The concept of positively and negatively compatible null vectors arises in the study of Clifford geometric algebras with a Lorentz-Minkowski metric. In previous works, the basic properties of such algebras have been set down in terms of a new principle of quantum duality. In the present work, the same structure is studied in terms of real and complex quantum integers, which generalize the real and complex number systems. It seems natural to identify a qubit as a pair of compatible null vectors; the up state of the qubit being their sum, and the down state being their difference. Basic identities are developed to make calculations routine, and two different representations of the symmetric group are given.

Quantum symmetries of Hadamard matrices

Abstract:We define quantum automorphisms and isomorphisms of Hadamard matrices. We show that every Hadamard matrix of size $N\ge 4$ has quantum symmetries and that all Hadamard matrices of a fixed size are mutually quantum isomorphic. These results pass also to the corresponding Hadamard graphs. We also define quantum Hadamard matrices acting on quantum spaces and bring an example thereof over matrix algebras.

Abstract:In this article, we give characterization for existence of quantum fractional revival in unitary Cayley graph utilizing adjacency matrix Hamiltonian. Unitary Cayley graph $X=( Z_n, S)$ is a special graph as connection set $S \subseteq Z_n$ is the collection of coprimes to $n$. Unitary Cayley graph is an integral graph and its adjacency matrix is a circulant one. We prove that quantum fractional revival in unitary Cayley graphs exists only when the number of vertices is even. Number-theoretic and spectral characterizations are given for unitary Cayley graph admitting quantum fractional revival. Quantum fractional revival is analogous to quantum entanglement. It is one of qubit state transfer phenomena useful in communication of quantum information.

Quantum loop groups for symmetric Cartan matrices

Abstract:We introduce a quantum loop group associated to a general symmetric Cartan matrix, by imposing just enough relations between the usual generators $\{e_{i,k}, f_{i,k}\}_{i \in I, k \in \mathbb{Z}}$ in order for the natural Hopf pairing between the positive and negative halves of the quantum loop group to be perfect. As an application, we describe the localized K-theoretic Hall algebra of any quiver without loops, endowed with a particularly important $\mathbb{C}^*$ action.

Abstract:The Harrow-Hassidim-Lloyd (HHL) quantum algorithm for sampling from the solution of a linear system provides an exponential speed-up over its classical counterpart. The problem of solving a system of linear equations has a wide scope of applications, and thus HHL constitutes an important algorithmic primitive. In these notes, we present the HHL algorithm and its improved versions in detail, including explanations of the constituent sub- routines. More specifically, we discuss various quantum subroutines such as quantum phase estimation and amplitude amplification, as well as the important question of loading data into a quantum computer, via quantum RAM. The improvements to the original algorithm exploit variable-time amplitude amplification as well as a method for implementing linear combinations of unitary operations (LCUs) based on a decomposition of the operators using Fourier and Chebyshev series. Finally, we discuss a linear solver based on the quantum singular value estimation (QSVE) subroutine.

Abstract:We establish a noncommutative analogue of the first fundamental theorem of classical invariant theory. For each quantum group associated with a classical Lie algebra, we construct a noncommutative associative algebra whose underlying vector space forms a module for the quantum group and whose algebraic structure is preserved by the quantum group action. The subspace of invariants is shown to form a subalgebra, which is finitely generated. We determine generators of this subalgebra of invariants and determine their commutation relations. In each case considered, the noncommutative modules we construct are flat deformations of their classical commutative analogues. Our results are therefore noncommutative generalisations of the first fundamental theorem of classical invariant theory, which follows from our results by taking the limit as q -> 1. Our method similarly leads to a definition of quantum spheres, which is a noncommutative generalisation of the classical case with orthogonal quantum group symmetry.

Abstract:We construct central elements in a completion of the quantum affine algebra at the critical level c=-g from the universal R-matrix (g being the dual Coxeter number of the corresponding simple Lie algebra), using the method of Reshetikhin and Semenov-Tian-Shansky. This construction defines an action of the Grothendieck algebra of the category of finite-dimensional representations of the quantum affine algebra on any module over this algebra from category O with c=-g. We explain the connection between the central elements and transfer matrices in statistical mechanics. In the quasiclassical approximation this connection was explained by Feigin, E.Frenkel, and Reshetikhin in hep-th 9402022, and it was mentioned that one could generalize it to the quantum case to get Bethe vectors for transfer matrices. Using this connection, we prove that the central elements (for all finite dimensional representations) applied to the highest weight vector of a generic Verma module at the critical level generate the whole space of singular vectors in this module. We also compute the first term of the quasiclassical expansion of the central elements near q=1, and show that it always gives the Sugawara current with a certain coefficient.

Abstract:We derive new holonomic q-difference equations for the matrix coefficients of the products of intertwining operators for quantum affine algebra U(q)(g) representations of level k. We study the connection operators between the solutions with different asymptotics and show that they are given by products of elliptic theta functions. We prove that the connection operators automatically provide elliptic solutions of Yang-Baxter equations in the "face" formulation for any type of Lie algebra g and arbitrary finite-dimensional representations of U(q)(g). We conjecture that these solutions of the Yang-Baxter equations cover all elliptic solutions known in the contexts of IRF models of statistical mechanics. We also conjecture that in a special limit when q --> 1 these solutions degenerate again into U(q')(g) solutions with q' = exp[GRAPHICS]We also study the simplest examples of solutions of our holonomic difference equations associated to U(q)(sl(2)) and find their expressions in terms of basic (or q-)-hypergeometric series. In the special case of spin -1/2 representations, we demonstrate that the connection matrix yields a famous Baxter solution of the Yang-Baxter equation corresponding to the solid-on-solid model of statistical mechanics.

Abstract:In this paper we prove the isomorphism of the positive half of the quantum toroidal algebra and the positive half of the Maulik-Okounkov quantum affine algebra of affine type $A$ via the monodromy representation for the Dubrovin connection. The main tool is on the proof of the fact that the degeneration limit of the algebraic quantum difference equation is the same as that of the Okounkov-Smirnov geometric quantum difference equation.
