Abstract:Many important special numbers appear in the expansions of some polynomials in terms of central factorials and vice versa, for example central factorial numbers, degenerate central factorial numbers, and central Lah numbers which are recently introduced. Here we generalize this to any sequence of polynomials. Let P be the space of a sequence of polynomials such that the degree of the polynomials less than n . The aim of this paper is to study the central factorial numbers of the second associated with P and of the first kind associated with P, in a unified and systematic way with the help of umbral calculus technique. The central factorial numbers associated with P enjoy orthogonality and inverse relations. We illustrate our results with many examples and obtain interesting orthogonality and inverse relations by applying such relations for the central factorial numbers associated with P to each of our examples.

Abstract:Recently, Komatsu introduced the concept of poly-Cauchy numbers and polynomials which generalize Cauchy numbers and polynomials. In this paper, we consider the new concept of higher-order Cauchy numbers and polynomials which generalize Cauchy numbers and polynomials in different direction and investigate some properties of those new class of numbers and polynomials. From our investigation, we derive some identities involving higher-order Cauchy numbers and polynomials, which generalize some rela- tions between two kinds of Cauchy polynomials and some identities for Cauchy numbers and Stirling numbers.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to investigate some properties, recurrence relations and identities involving degenerate hyperharmonic numbers, hyperharmonic numbers and degenerate harmonic numbers. In particular, we derive an explicit expression of the degenerate hyperharmonic numbers in terms of the degenerate harmonic numbers. This is a degenerate version of the corresponding identity representing the hyperharmonic numbers in terms of harmonic numbers due to Conway and Guy.

Abstract:The harmonic numbers and higher-order harmonic numbers appear frequently in several areas which are related to combinatorial identities, many expressions involving special functions in analytic number theory, and analysis of algorithms. The aim of this paper is to study the degenerate harmonic and degenerate higher-order harmonic numbers, which are respectively degenerate versions of the harmonic and higher-order harmonic numbers, in connection with the degenerate zeta and degenerate Hurwitz zeta function. Here the degenerate zeta and degenerate Hurwitz zeta function are respectively degenerate versions of the Riemann zeta and Hurwitz zeta function. We show that several infinite sums involving the degenerate higher-order harmonic numbers can be expressed in terms of the degenerate zeta function. Furthermore, we demonstrate that an infinite sum involving finite sums of products of the degenerate harmonic numbers can be represented by using the degenerate Hurwitz zeta function.

Abstract:Dedekind sums occur in the transformation behaviour of the logarithm of the Dedekind eta-function under substitutions from the modular group. In 1892, Dedekind showed a reciprocity relation for the Dedekind sums. Apostol generalized Dedekind sums by replacing the first Bernoulli function appearing in them by any Bernoulli functions and derived a reciprocity relation for the generalized Dedekind sums. In this paper, we consider poly-Dedekind sums which are obtained from the Dedekind sums by replacing the first Bernoulli function by any type 2 poly-Bernoulli functions of arbitrary indices and prove a reciprocity relation for the poly-Dedekind sums.
