Abstract:We present a self-contained development of the Weierstrass theory of those analytic functions (single-valued or multiform) which admit an algebraic addition theorem. We review the history of the theory and present detailed proofs of the major theorems.

Abstract:We show connections between a special type of addition formulas and a theorem of Stieltjes and Rogers. We use different techniques to derive the desirable addition formulas. We apply our approach to derive special addition theorems for Bessel functions and confluent hypergeometric functions. We also derive several additions theorems for basic hypergeometric functions. Applications to the evaluation of Hankel determinants are also given .

Abstract:Additive relations are defined over additive monoids and additive operation is introduced over these new relations then we build algebraic system of equations. We can generate profuse equations by additive relations of two variables. To give an equation with several known parameters is to give an additive relation taking these known parameters as its variables or value and the solution of the equation is just the reverse of this relation which always exists. We show a core result in this paper that any additive relation of many variables and their inverse can be expressed in the form of the superposition of additive relations of one variable in an algebraic system of equations if the system satisfies some conditions. This result means that there is always a formula solution expressed in the superposition of additive relations of one variable for any equation in this system. We get algebraic equations if elements of the additive monoid are numbers and get operator equations if they are functions.

Abstract:Generalizations of the series exp and log to noncommutative non-associative and other types of algebras were considered by <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://M.Lazard" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a>, and recently by <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://V.Drensky" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> and <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://L.Gerritzen" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a>. There is a unique power series exp(x) in one non-associative variable x such that exp(x)exp(x)=exp(2x), exp'(0)=1. We call the unique series H=H(x,y) in two non-associative variables satisfying exp(H)=exp(x)exp(y) the non-associative Hausdorff series, and we show that the homogeneous components of H are primitive elements with respect to the co-addition for non-associative variables. We describe the space of primitive elements for the co-addition in non-associative variables using Taylor expansion and a projector onto the algebra A_0 of constants for the partial derivations. By a theorem of Kurosh, A_0 is a free algebra. We describe a procedure to construct a free algebra basis consisting of primitive elements.

Abstract:Shnirel'man's inequality and Shnirel'man's basis theorem are fundamental results about sums of sets of positive integers in additive number theory. It is proved that these results are inherently order-theoretic and extend to partially ordered abelian and nonabelian groups. One abelian application is an addition theorem for sums of sets of $n$-dimensional lattice points.

Abstract:Various interesting and potentially useful properties and relationships involving the Bernoulli, Euler and Genocchi polynomials have been investigated in the literature rather extensively. Recently, the present authors (Srivastava and Pinter in Appl Math Lett 17:375–380, 2004) obtained addition theorems and other relationships involving the generalized Bernoulli polynomials ${B_n^{(\alpha)}(x)}$ and the generalized Euler polynomials ${E_n^{(\alpha)}(x)}$ of order α and degree n in x. The main purpose of this sequel to some of the aforecited investigations is to give several addition formulas for a general class of Appell sequences. The addition formulas, which are derived in this paper, involve not only the generalized Bernoulli polynomials ${B_n^{(\alpha)}(x)}$ and the generalized Euler polynomials ${E_n^{(\alpha)}(x)}$ , but also the generalized Genocchi polynomials ${G_n^{(\alpha)}(x)}$ , the Srivastava polynomials ${\mathcal{S}_{n}^{N}\left( x\right)}$ , several general families of hypergeometric polynomials and such orthogonal polynomials as the Jacobi, Laguerre and Hermite polynomials. Some umbral-calculus generalizations of the addition formulas are also investigated.

Abstract:A first-order theory is Noetherian with respect to the collection of formulae $\mathcal{F}$ if every definable set is a Boolean combination of instances of formulae in $\mathcal{F}$ and the topology whose subbasis of closed sets is the collection of instances of arbitrary formulae in $\mathcal{F}$ is Noetherian. Noetherianity is a strengthening of equationality, which itself implies stability. We show the Noetherianity of the theory of proper pairs of algebraically closed fields in any characteristic.

Abstract:We define the universal exponential extension of an algebraically closed differential field and investigate its properties in the presence of a nice valuation and in connection with linear differential equations. Next we prove normalization theorems for algebraic differential equations over $H$-fields, as a tool in solving such equations in suitable extensions. The results in this monograph are essential in our work on Hardy fields in [6].

To show how effective this approach is, we prove a generalization of this celebrated theorem for Hilbert modules over matrix algebras. Abstract:Using subresultants, we modify a recent real-algebraic proof due to Eisermann of the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra ([FTA]) to obtain the following quantitative information: in order to prove the [FTA] for polynomials of degree $d$, the Intermediate Value Theorem ([IVT]) is requested to hold for real polynomials of degree at most $d^2$. We also explain that the classical proof due to Laplace requires [IVT] for real polynomials of exponential degree. These quantitative results highlight the difference in nature of these two proofs.

Abstract:We prove a form of the Weierstrass Preparation Theorem for normal algebraic curves over complete discrete valuation rings. While the more traditional algebraic form of Weierstrass Preparation applies just to the projective line over a base, our version allows more general curves. This result is then used to obtain applications concerning the values of u-invariants, and on the period–index problem for division algebras, over fraction fields of complete two-dimensional rings. Our approach uses patching methods and matrix factorization results that can be viewed as analogs of Cartan’s Lemma.

Abstract:We introduce a new framework called linear algebraic number theory (LANT) that reformulates the number-theoretic problem as a regression model and solves it using matrix algebra. This framework restricts all computations to log space, therefore replaces multiplication with addition and allows to capture variation in the natural numbers from variation in the prime numbers. This automatically puts prime numbers to their designated place of atomic particles of natural numbers and enables fruitful new formulations of number-theoretic functions. We outline the theory, derive some basic results, make connections to standard number theory and give an outlook regarding the Riemann hypothesis, number theory's long-standing enigma.
