Abstract:A space $X$ is called $W$-trivial if for every vector bundle $\xi$ over $X$, the total Stiefel-Whitney class $W(\xi)= 1$. In this article we shall investigate whether the suspensions of Dold manifolds, $\s^k D(m,n)$, is $W$-trivial or not.

Abstract:A finite CW-complex X is C-trivial if for every complex vector bundle ξ over X, the total Chern class c(ξ) = 1. In this note we completely determine when each of the following spaces are C-trivial: suspensions of stunted real projective spaces, suspensions of stunted complex projective spaces and suspensions of stunted quaternionic projective spaces.

Abstract:A space $X$ is said to be $C$-trivial if the total Chern class $c(\alpha)$ equals $1$ for every complex vector bundle $\alpha$ over $X$. In this note we give a complete homological classification of $C$-trivial closed smooth manifolds of dimension $< 7$. In dimension $7$ we give a complete classification of orientable $C$-trivial manifolds and in the non-orientable case we give necessary homological conditions for the manifold to be $C$-trivial. Our main tool is the Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence and orders of its differentials.

Abstract:We study line bundles on smooth toric DM stacks $\mathbb{P}_{\mathbf{\Sigma}}$ of arbitrary dimension. A sufficient condition is given for when infinitely many line bundles on $\mathbb{P}_{\mathbf{\Sigma}}$ have trivial cohomology. In dimension three, the sufficient condition is also a necessary condition in the case that $\mathbf{\Sigma}$ has no more than one pair of collinear rays.

Abstract:On a normal projective variety the locus of $\mu$-stable bundles that remain $\mu$-stable on all Galois covers prime to the characteristic is open in the moduli space of Gieseker semi-stable sheaves. On a smooth projective curve of genus at least 2 this locus is big in the moduli space of stable bundles, i.e., its complement has codimension at least 2.

Abstract:Let g be a complex semisimple Lie algebra with Borel subalgebra b and corresponding nilradical n . We show that singular Whittaker modules M are simple if and only if the space Wh M of Whittaker vectors is 1-dimensional. For arbitrary locally n -finite g -modules V , an immediate corollary is that the dimension of Wh V is bounded by the composition length of V .

Abstract:The van Kampen-Flores theorem states that the $d$-skeleton of a $(2d+2)$-simplex does not embed into $\mathbb{R}^{2d}$. We prove the van Kampen-Flores theorem for triangulations of manifolds satisfying a certain condition on their Stiefel-Whitney classes. In particular, we show that the $d$-skeleton of a triangulation of a $(2d+1)$-manifold with non-trivial total Stiefel-Whitney class does not embed into $\mathbb{R}^{2d}$.

Abstract:Twisted ind-Grassmannians are ind-varieties $\GG$ obtained as direct limits of Grassmannians $G(r_m,V^{r_m})$, for $m\in\ZZ_{>0}$, under embeddings $\phi_m:G(r_m,V^{r_m})\to G(r_{m+1}, V^{r_{m+1}})$ of degree greater than one. It has been conjectured in \cite{PT} and \cite{DP} that any vector bundle of finite rank on a twisted ind-Grassmannian is trivial. We prove this conjecture under the assumption that the ind-Grassmannian $\GG$ is sufficiently twisted, i.e. that $\lim_{m\to\infty}\frac{r_m}{°\phi_1...°\phi_m}=0$.

Abstract:Over a smooth and proper complex scheme, the differential Galois group of an integrable connection may be obtained as the closure of the transcendental monodromy representation. In this paper, we employ a completely algebraic variation of this idea by restricting attention to connections on trivial vector bundles and replacing the fundamental group by a certain Lie algebra constructed from the regular forms. In more detail, we show that the differential Galois group is a certain ``closure'' of the aforementioned Lie algebra. This is then applied to construct connections on curves with prescribed differential Galois group.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a compact complex manifold such that its canonical bundle $K_X$ is numerically trivial. Assume additionally that $X$ is Moishezon or $X$ is Fujiki with dimension at most four. Using the MMP and classical results in foliation theory, we prove a Beauville-Bogomolov type decomposition theorem for $X$. We deduce that holomorphic geometric structures of affine type on $X$ are in fact locally homogeneous away from an analytic subset of complex codimension at least two, and that they cannot be rigid unless $X$ is an étale quotient of a compact complex torus. Moreover, we establish a characterization of torus quotients using the vanishing of the first two Chern classes which is valid for any compact complex $n$-folds of algebraic dimension at least $n-1$. Finally, we show that a compact complex manifold with trivial canonical bundle bearing a rigid geometric structure must have infinite fundamental group if either $X$ is Fujiki, $X$ is a threefold, or $X$ is of algebraic dimension at most one.

On deformation quantizations of symplectic supervarieties

Abstract:We classify deformation quantizations of the symplectic supervarieties that are smooth and admissible. This generalizes the corresponding result of Bezrukavnikov and Kaledin to the super case. We relate the equivalence classes of quantizations of supervarieties with that of their even reduced symplectic varieties. Finally, we prove that certain nilpotent orbits of basic Lie superalgebras are admissible and splitting, and classify their deformation quantizations.

On some topological equivalences for moduli spaces of $G$-bundles

Abstract:Let $X$ be a smooth projective curve of genus $g \geq 3$, and let $G$ be a nontrivial connected reductive affine algebraic group over $\mathbb{C}$. Examining the moduli spaces of regularly stable $G$-Higgs bundles and holomorphic $G$-connections with a fixed topological type $d\in \pi_1(G)$ over $X$, we establish that the $k$-th homotopy groups of these two moduli spaces are isomorphic for $k \leq 2g-4$. We also prove that the mixed Hodge structures on the rational cohomology groups of these two moduli spaces are pure and isomorphic. Lastly, we explicitly describe the homotopy groups of the moduli space of $\mathrm{SL}(n,\mathbb{C})$-connections over $X$.

Abstract:The authors discuss the existence and classification of stable vector bundles of rank 3, with 3 or 4 linearly independent holomorphic sections. The sets of all such bundles are denoted by ω 3,d 2 and ω 3,d 2 , respectively. Our argument leads to sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of both kinds of bundles. The conclusion is very interesting because of its contradiction to the conjectured dimension formula of stable bundles. Finally, we give a preliminary classification of ω 3,4 2 and a complete discussion on the structure of $\omega _{3,\tfrac{2}{3}g + 2}^3 $.

Abstract:We study complex solvmanifolds $\Gamma\backslash G$ with holomorphically trivial canonical bundle. We show that the trivializing section of this bundle can be either invariant or non-invariant by the action of $G$. First we characterize the existence of invariant trivializing sections in terms of the Koszul 1-form $\psi$ canonically associated to $(\mathfrak{g},J)$, where $\mathfrak{g}$ is the Lie algebra of $G$, and we use this characterization to produce new examples of complex solvmanifolds with trivial canonical bundle. Moreover, we provide an algebraic obstruction, also in terms of $\psi$, for a complex solvmanifold to have trivial (or more generally holomorphically torsion) canonical bundle. Finally, we exhibit a compact hypercomplex solvmanifold $(M^{4n},\{J_1,J_2,J_3\})$ such that the canonical bundle of $(M,J_{\alpha})$ is trivial only for $\alpha=1$, so that $M$ is not an $\operatorname{SL}(n,\mathbb{H})$-manifold.

Abstract:Given any irreducible smooth complex projective curve X , of genus at least 2, consider the moduli stack of vector bundles on X of fixed rank and determinant. It is proved that the isomorphism class of the stack uniquely determines the isomorphism class of the curve X and the rank of the vector bundles. The case of trivial determinant, rank 2 and genus 2 is specially interesting: the curve can be recovered from the moduli stack, but not from the moduli space (since this moduli space is P3 thus independently of the curve).We also prove a Torelli theorem for moduli stacks of principal G -bundles on a curve of genus at least 3, where G is any non-abelian reductive group.
