Abstract:The aim of this paper is to study the dominant dimension of two important classes of finite dimensional algebras, namely, hereditary algebras and tree algebras. We derive an explicit formula for the dominant dimension of each class.

Abstract:Optimal upper bounds are provided for the dominant dimensions of Nakayama algebras and more generally algebras $A$ with an idempotent $e$ such that there is a minimal faithful injective-projective module $eA$ and such that $eAe$ is a Nakayama algebra. This answers a question of Abrar and proves a conjecture of Yamagata for monomial algebras.

Abstract:We give new properties of algebras with finite Gorenstein dimension coinciding with the dominant dimension $\geq 2$, which are called Auslander-Gorenstein algebras in the recent work of Iyama and Solberg, see \cite{IyaSol}. In particular, when those algebras are standardly stratified, we give criteria when the category of (properly) (co)standardly filtered modules has a nice homological description using tools from the theory of dominant dimensions and Gorenstein homological algebra. We give some examples of standardly stratified algebras having dominant dimension equal to the Gorenstein dimension, including examples having an arbitrary natural number as Gorenstein dimension and blocks of finite representation-type of Schur algebras.

Two algorithms are proposed for computing the desired dimension trees. Determination of finitistic dimensions is then given as one of many homological applications which this idea might have. Abstract:For a pair of finitely generated modules $M$ and $N$ over a codimension $c$ complete intersection ring $R$ with $\ell(M\otimes_RN)$ finite, we pay special attention to the inequality $\dim M+\dim N \leq \dim R +c$. In particular, we develop an extension of Hochster's theta invariant whose nonvanishing detects equality. In addition, we consider a parallel theory where dimension and codimension are replaced by depth and complexity, respectively.

Abstract:We generalise a theorem of Tachikawa about reflexive Auslander-Reiten sequences. We apply this to give a new characterisation of the dominant dimension of gendo-symmetric algebras. We also generalise a formula due to Reiten about the dominant dimension of an algebra $A$ and grades of torsion $A$-modules.

Abstract:Many connections and dualities in representation theory and Lie theory can be explained using quasi-hereditary covers in the sense of Rouquier. Recent work by the first-named author shows that relative dominant (and codominant) dimensions are natural tools to classify and distinguish distinct quasi-hereditary covers of a finite-dimensional algebra. In this paper, we prove that the relative dominant dimension of a quasi-hereditary algebra, possessing a simple preserving duality, with respect to a direct summand of the characteristic tilting module is always an even number or infinite and that this homological invariant controls the quality of quasi-hereditary covers that possess a simple preserving duality. To resolve the Temperley–Lieb algebras, we apply this result to the class of Schur algebras and their -analogues. Our second main result completely determines the relative dominant dimension of with respect to , the -th tensor power of the natural two-dimensional module. As a byproduct, we deduce that Ringel duals of -Schur algebras give rise to quasi-hereditary covers of Temperley–Lieb algebras. Further, we obtain precisely when the Temperley–Lieb algebra is Morita equivalent to the Ringel dual of the -Schur algebra and precisely how far these two algebras are from being Morita equivalent, when they are not. These results are compatible with the integral setup, and we use them to deduce that the Ringel dual of a -Schur algebra over the ring of Laurent polynomials over the integers together with some projective module is the best quasi-hereditary cover of the integral Temperley–Lieb algebra.

Abstract:There is a well-known class of algebras called Igusa-Todorov algebras which were introduced in relation to finitistic dimension conjecture. As a generalization of Igusa-Todorov algebras, the new notion of $(m,n)$-Igusa-Todorov algebras provides a wider framework for studying derived dimensions. In this paper, we give methods for constructing $(m,n)$-Igusa-Todorov algebras. As an application, we present for general artin algebras a relationship between the derived dimension and the representation distance. Moreover, we end this paper to show that the main result can be used to give a better upper bound for the derived dimension for some classes of algebras.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Noetherian dimension of sum of certain modules. It is proved that for any module M which is an irredundant sum of submodules, each of which has Noetherian dimension less than alpha, if M has finite spanning dimension (fsd-module, for short) or it is a weakly atomic module, then Noetherian dimension M less than alpha. Here, by a weakly atomic module we mean a module M for which every proper non-small submodule N, has Noetherian dimension strictly less than that of M. Also, it is proved that if M is an AB5* module with Noetherian dimension and N_i is a family of submodules of M such that Noetherian dimension M over N_i, less than alpha, for each i, then Noetherian dimension M over intersection of N_is less than alpha. Using this, we give a structure theorem for alpha-short modules in the category of AB5* and finally, we classify alpha-short modules in this category.

Arithmeticity for integral cohomological dimension of configuration spaces of manifolds

Abstract:Consider the configuration spaces of manifolds. We give a precise formula for the integral cohomological dimension (the degree of top non-trivial integral cohomology group) of unordered configuration spaces of manifolds with non-trivial co-dimension one cohomology group, and show that the the sequence of cohomological dimensions is arithmetic. This arithmeticity is not present in the classical example of Arnold. Moreover, we show that the top integral cohomology group is infinite. Furthermore, We give a lower bound for the rank of top integral cohomology group. We also predict that the top integral cohomology group of configuration spaces of manifolds with non-trivial co-dimension one cohomology group is eventually finite. To the best of our knowledge, there is no rigorous bound for the cohomological dimension of ordered configuration spaces. As an application of main results, we give a sharp lower bound for the cohomological dimension of ordered configuration spaces of manifolds. The first step of the proof of main results is to define a reduced Chevalley Eilenberg complex.

Abstract:We give a formula for the essential dimension of a cohomology class $\alpha$ in $H^d(K, \mathbb{Q}_p/\mathbb{Z}_p (d))$ when $K$ is a strictly Henselian field. This formula is particularly explicit in the case, where $\alpha$ is a Brauer class (for $d = 2$). As an application of our bound with $d = 3$, we study the essential dimension of exceptional groups by examining the image of the Rost invariant.

Abstract:We introduce "embedding dimensions" of a family of generators of a finite von Neumann algebra when the von Neumann algebra can be faithfully embedded into the ultrapower of the hyperfinite II$_1$ factor. These embedding dimensions are von Neumann algebra invariants, i.e., do not depend on the choices of the generators. We also find values of these invariants for some specific von Neumann algebras.

Abstract:Let A = kQ/I be a finite-dimensional basic algebra over an algebraically closed field k which is a gentle algebra with the marked ribbon surface . It is known that can be divided into some elementary polygons {Δ i ∣ 1 ⩽ i ⩽ d } by Γ A which has exactly one side in the boundary of . Let C(Δ i ) be the number of sides of Δ i belonging to Γ A if the unmarked boundary component of is not a side of Δ i ; otherwise, C(Δ i ) = ∞, and let f-Δ be the set of all the non-∞-elementary polygons and (resp. ) be the set of all the forbidden threads (resp. of finite length). Then we have the global dimension of A is , where l ( Π ) is the length of Π the left and right self-injective dimensions of A are As a consequence, we get that the finiteness of the global dimension of gentle algebras is invariant under Avella-Geiss (AG)-equivalence. In addition, we get that the number of indecomposable non-projective Gorenstein projective modules over gentle algebras is also invariant under AG-equivalence.

Abstract:This paper studies the abelian subalgebras and ideals of maximal dimension of Poisson algebras $\mathcal{P}$ of dimension $n$. We introduce the invariants $\alpha$ and $\beta$ for Poisson algebras, which correspond to the dimension of an abelian subalgebra and ideal of maximal dimension, respectively. We prove that these invariants coincide if $\alpha(\mathcal{P}) = n-1$. We characterize the Poisson algebras with $\alpha(\mathcal{P}) = n-2$ over arbitrary fields. In particular, we characterize Lie algebras $L$ with $\alpha(L) = n-2$. We also show that $\alpha(\mathcal{P}) = n-2$ for nilpotent Poisson algebras implies $\beta(\mathcal{P})=n-2$. Finally, we study these invariants for various distinguished Poisson algebras, providing us with several examples and counterexamples.

Towards the classification of finite-dimensional diagonally graded commutative algebras

Abstract:Any finite-dimensional commutative (associative) graded algebra with all nonzero homogeneous subspaces one-dimensional is defined by a symmetric coefficient matrix. This algebraic structure gives a basic kind of $A$-graded algebras originally studied by Arnold. In this paper, we call them diagonally graded commutative algebras (DGCAs) and verify that the isomorphism classes of DGCAs of dimension $\leq 7$ over an arbitrary field are in bijection with the equivalence classes consisting of coefficient matrices with the same distribution of nonzero entries, while dramatically there may be infinitely many isomorphism classes of dimension $n$ corresponding to one equivalence class of coefficient matrices when $n\geq 8$.

Abstract:The growth of the dimension of the homogeneous components of algebra is an essential topic in algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. In this context, the homogeneous components of an algebra are the pieces of the algebra that have the same degree. The study of the growth of the dimension of these components can shed light on the structure of the algebra and its behavior as the degree of the components increases. This concept is particularly important in the study of polynomial rings, which are a fundamental object in algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. Understanding the growth of the dimension of their homogeneous components can provide insight into the geometry of the corresponding algebraic varieties. This topic is also particularly important in the study of projective varieties, where the homogeneous components correspond to the spaces of sections of line bundles of increasing degree. Understanding the growth of these spaces is crucial for understanding the geometry of the variety. In this abstract, we provide an overview of the growth of the dimension of homogeneous components of an algebra, including its applications, results, and future research directions.

Abstract:Let $A$ be a finite dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field $\mathbf{k}$. If $A$ is quasi-hereditary and the projective dimensions of all standard modules are at most one, then $A$ is called left strongly quasi-hereditary. In this paper, we construct a special heredity chain for left strongly quasi-hereditary algebras.
