Abstract:A new interpretation of the basic vector |0> of the free Fock space (FFS) and the FFS is proposed. The approximations to various equations with additional parameters, for n-point information (n-pi), are also considered in the case of non-polynomial nonlinearities.

Abstract:We have studied two generalized Frenkel-Kontorova (FK) models. In one of them the interatomic potential is changed from simple harmonic to Toda; in the other the external potential is changed from sinusoidal to nonanalytic. Their critical behaviors are found to be markedly different. In the Toda case, the local critical exponents are the same as those in the standard FK model. However, the global singularity spectrum and the generalized dimension depend on the anharmonicity parameter. In the nonanalytic FK model, the critical exponents are found to vary with the degree of inflection z for 2 less-than-or-equal-to z < 3, but remain the same for z greater-than-or-equal-to 3. The degree of inflection thus plays a role quite similar to that of dimensionality in phase transitions with z = 2 and 3 corresponding respectively to the lower and upper critical dimensions. For z > 3, a sequence of pinning and depinning transitions, reflecting the recurrence of Kolmogorov-Arnol'd-Moser tori, has also been observed.

As its applications, two non-Euclidean examples of strictly positive kernel functions are given. Moreover, we give a new proof of the universal approximation theorem for Gaussian type kernels.

Abstract:We study the quantization of a linear scalar field, whose symmetries are described by the kappa-Poincare Hopf algebra, via deformed Fock space construction. The one-particle sector of the theory exhibits a natural (Planckian) cutoff for the modes of the field. At the "multiparticle" level the nontrivial coalgebra structure of kappa-Poincare leads to a deformed bosonization in the construction of Fock space states. These physical states carry energy-momentum charges which are divergenceless and obey a deformed dispersion relation.
Quantum harmonic analysis for polyanalytic Fock spaces

Abstract:We develop the quantum harmonic analysis framework in the reducible setting and apply our findings to polyanalytic Fock spaces. In particular, we explain some phenomena observed in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2201.10230" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.10230">arXiv:2201.10230</a> and answer a few related open questions. For instance, we show that there exists a symbol such that the corresponding Toeplitz operator is unitary on the analytic Fock space but vanishes completely on one of the true polyanalytic Fock spaces. This follows directly from an explicit characterization of the kernel of the Toeplitz quantization, which we derive using quantum harmonic analysis. Moreover, we show that the Berezin transform is injective on the set of of Toeplitz operators. Finally, we provide several characterizations of the $\mathcal{C}_1$-algebra in terms of integral kernel estimates and essential commutants.

Abstract:In this paper we study left and right `regular representations' of , an infinite-dimensional analogue of the classical Lie group with entries indexed by the integers, on a space which we take to be the projective limit of Bargmann - Fock - Segal spaces. We decompose into an orthogonal direct sum where the hat indicates the closure of the algebraic direct sum, and where each is irreducible with respect to the joint left and right action, and the isotypic component of the left or right actions with double signatures of the type . For each , is the subspace generated by the joint action on a highest weight vector with highest weight . We start by defining the group and its Lie algebra , and discuss the `infinite wedge space', F, defined by Kac, and its transpose . We then define a kind of determinant function on , prove several identities and properties of these determinants, and use these to produce intertwining maps from tensor products of F and to , thereby obtaining irreducible subspaces and highest weight vectors. We further adapt these results to representations of on the inductive limit of Bargmann - Fock - Segal spaces .

Abstract:In a recent paper we used a basic decomposition property of polyanalytic functions of order $2$ in one complex variable to characterize solutions of the classical $\overline{\partial}$-problem for given analytic and polyanalytic data. Our approach suggested the study of a special reproducing kernel Hilbert space that we call the Hörmander-Fock space that will be further investigated in this paper. The main properties of this space are encoded in a specific moment sequence denoted by $\eta=(\eta_n)_{n\geq 0}$ leading to a special entire function $\mathsf{E}(z)$ that is used to express the kernel function of the Hörmander-Fock space. We present also an example of a special function belonging to the class ML introduced recently by Alpay et al. and apply a Bochner-Minlos type theorem to this function, thus motivating further connections with the theory of stochastic processes.

Abstract:Reviews in Mathematical Physics, Ahead of Print. We revisit the non-perturbative renormalization of a class of simple polaron models with resting fermions. The considered dispersion relations and form factors are allowed to be highly singular, such that infinite self-energies and wave function renormalizations may occur and the diagonalizing dressing transformations might not be implementable on Fock space. Instead of taking cutoffs, we rigorously interpret the self-energies and wave function renormalizations as elements of suitable vector spaces, as well as a field extension of the complex numbers. Moreover, we define two extended state vector spaces (ESSs) over this field extension, which contain a dense subspace of Fock space, but also incorporate non-square-integrable wave functions. Elements of these ESSs can be seen as states of virtual particles, described in a mathematically rigorous way. The Hamiltonian without cutoffs, formally infinite counterterms, and the dressing transformation can then be defined as linear operators between certain subspaces of the two Fock space extensions. This way, we obtain a renormalized Hamiltonian which can be realized as a densely defined self-adjoint operator on Fock space.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the Fock space over $\mathbb{C}^{\infty}$ and obtain an isomorphism between the Fock space over $\mathbb{C}^{\infty}$ and Bose-Fock space. Based on this isomorphism, we obtain representations of some operators on the Bose-Fock space and answer a question in \cite{coburn1985}. As a physical application, we study the Gibbs state.

Abstract:An oscillator algebra and the associated Fock space with reflecting boundary and generalized statistics are constructed and is generalized to the multicomponent case. The oscillator algebra depends manifestly on the reflection factor and the statistical (exchange) factor, and the corresponding Fock space can be obtained from that of the usual bosonic oscillator without reflection condition by certain projection operation.

Abstract:In most of the successful versions of covariant density functional theory in nuclei, the Fock terms are not included explicitly, which leads to local functionals and forms the basis of their widespread applicability at present. However, it has serious consequences for the description of Gamow-Teller resonances (GTR) and spin-dipole resonances (SDR) which can only be cured by adding further phenomenological parameters. Relativistic Hartree-Fock models do not suffer from these problems. They can successfully describe the GTR and SDR as well as the isovector part of the Dirac effective mass without any additional parameters. However, they are nonlocal and require considerable numerical effort. By the zero-range reduction and the Fierz transformation, a new method is proposed to take into account the Fock terms in local functionals, which retains the simplicity of conventional models and provides proper descriptions of the spin-isospin channels and the Dirac masses.
Time-dependent scalings and Fock quantization of a massless scalar field in Kantowski-Sachs

Abstract:We address the issue of inequivalent Fock representations in Quantum Field Theory in a curved homogenous and anisotropic background, namely Kantowski-Sachs spacetime. A family of unitarily equivalent Fock representations that are invariant under the spatial isometries and implement a unitary dynamics can be achieved by means of a field redefinition that consists of a specific anisotropic scaling of the field configuration and a linear transformation of its momentum. Remarkably, we show that this kind of field redefinition is in fact unique under our symmetry and unitary requirements. However, the physical properties of the Hamiltonian dynamics that one obtains in this way are not satisfactory, inasmuch as the action of the Hamiltonian on the corresponding particle states is ill defined. To construct a quantum theory without this problem, we need a further canonical transformation that is time- and mode-dependent and is not interpretable as an anisotropic scaling. The old and new Fock representations, nevertheless, are unitarily equivalent. The freedom that is introduced when allowing for this further canonical transformation can be fixed by demanding an asymptotic diagonalization of the Hamiltonian and a minimal absorption of dynamical phases. In this way, the choice of vacuum and the associated Fock representation are asymptotically determined.

Abstract:We study the Fock quantization of a free Dirac field in 2+1-dimensional backgrounds which are conformally ultrastatic, with a time-dependent conformal factor. As it is typical for field theories, there is an infinite ambiguity in the Fock representation of the canonical anticommutation relations. Different choices may lead to unitarily inequivalent theories that describe different physics. To remove this ambiguity one usually requires that the vacuum be invariant under the unitary transformations that implement the symmetries of the equations of motion. However, in non-stationary backgrounds, where time translation is not a symmetry transformation, the requirement of vacuum invariance is in general not enough to fix completely the Fock representation. We show that this problem is overcome in the considered scenario by demanding, in addition, a unitarily implementable quantum dynamics. The combined imposition of these conditions selects a unique family of equivalent Fock representations. Moreover, one also obtains an essentially unique splitting of the time variation of the Dirac field into an explicit dependence on the background scale factor and a quantum evolution of the corresponding creation and annihilation operators.

Abstract:We consider classical, interacting particles coupled to a thermal reservoir and subject to a local, time-varying potential while undergoing hops on a lattice. We impose detailed balance on the hopping rates and map the dynamics to the Fock space Doi representation, from which we derive the Jarzynski and Crooks relations. Here the local potential serves to drive the system far from equilibrium and to provide the work. Next, we utilize the coherent state representation to map the system to a Doi-Peliti field theory and take the continuum limit. We demonstrate that time reversal in this field theory takes the form of a gauge-like transformation which leaves the action invariant up to a generated work term. The time-reversal symmetry leads to a fundamental identity, from which we are able to derive the Jarzynski and Crooks relations, as well as a far-from-equilibrium generalization of the fluctuation-dissipation relation.

Abstract:To connect conformal field theories (CFT) to probabilistic lattice models, recent works [HKV22, Ada23] have introduced a novel definition of local fields of the lattice models. Local fields in this picture are probabilistically concrete: they are built from random variables in the model. The key insight is that discrete complex analysis ideas allow to equip the space of local fields with the main structure of a CFT: a representation of the Virasoro algebra. In this article, for the first time, we fully analyze the structure of the space of local fields of a lattice model as a representation, and use this to establish a one-to-one correspondence between the local fields of a lattice model and those of a conformal field theory. The CFT we consider is probabilistically realized in terms of the gradient of the Gaussian Free Field (GFF). Its space of local fields is just a bosonic Fock space for two chiral symmetry algebras. The corresponding lattice model is the discrete Gaussian Free Field. Our first main result is that the space of local fields of polynomials in the gradient of the discrete GFF is isomorphic to the Fock space. These local fields make sense with both Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions. Our second main result is that with the appropriate renormalization, correlation functions of local fields of the discrete GFF converge in the scaling limit to the correlation functions of the CFT. The renormalization needed is, conceptually correctly, according to the eigenvalue of the Virasoro generator $L_0 + \bar{L}_0$ on the local field.

K^+ versus Λflow in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

Abstract:We study $K^+$ and $\Lambda$ flow in heavy-ion collisions at beam energies of about 2A GeV. We present our results in both the `traditional' (i.e., in terms of the average transverse momentum in the reaction plane) as well as `modern' (i.e., in terms of coefficients of the Fourier analysis of azimuthal distributions) methods of flow analysis. We find significant differences between the $K^+$ and the $\Lambda$ flow: while the $\Lambda$ flow is basically similar to that of nucleons, the $K^+$ flow almost disappears. This difference is attributed chiefly to their different mean field potentials in dense matter. The comparisons with the experimental data, as well as theoretical results from independent calculations, indicate clearly the pivotal roles of both $K^+$ and $\Lambda$ medium effects. We emphasize that similar experimental data from independent collaborations are essential for the eventual verification of these medium effects.

Abstract:We study the Fock quantization of scalar fields in (generically) time dependent scenarios, focusing on the case in which the field propagation occurs in --either a background or effective-- spacetime with spatial sections of flat compact topology. The discussion finds important applications in cosmology, like e.g. in the description of test Klein-Gordon fields and scalar perturbations in Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime in the observationally favored flat case. Two types of ambiguities in the quantization are analyzed. First, the infinite ambiguity existing in the choice of a Fock representation for the canonical commutation relations, understandable as the freedom in the choice of inequivalent vacua for a given field. Besides, in cosmological situations, it is customary to scale the fields by time dependent functions, which absorb part of the evolution arising from the spacetime, which is treated classically. This leads to an additional ambiguity, this time in the choice of a canonical pair of field variables. We show that both types of ambiguities are removed by the requirements of (a) invariance of the vacuum under the symmetries of the three-torus, and (b) unitary implementation of the dynamics in the quantum theory. In this way, one arrives at a unique class of unitarily equivalent Fock quantizations for the system. This result provides considerable robustness to the quantum predictions and renders meaningful the confrontation with observation.

In this paper, given p ∈ ( 0 , 1 ] we introduce the concept of weakly localized operators on F φ p , we characterize the compact operators in the algebra generated by weakly localized operators. As an application, for 0 < p < ∞ we prove that an operator T in the algebra generated by bounded Toeplitz operators with BMO symbols is compact on F φ p if and only if its Berezin transform satisfies certain vanishing property at ∞. In the classical Fock space, we extend the Axler–Zheng condition on linear operators T, which ensures T is compact on F α p for all possible 0 < p < ∞ .
