Abstract:Consider the (Helgason-) Fourier transform on a Riemannian symmetric space G/K. We give a simple proof of the L^p-Schwartz space isomorphism theorem (0 <p \le 2) for K-finite functions. The proof is a generalization of J.-Ph. Anker's proof for K-invariant functions.

Abstract:In this paper we give a simpler proof of the $L^p$-Schwartz space isomorphism $(0< p\leq 2)$ under the Fourier transform for the class of functions of left $\delta$-type on a Riemannian symmetric space of rank one. Our treatment rests on Anker's \cite{A} proof of the corresponding result in the case of left $K$-invariant functions on $X$. Thus we give a proof which relies only on the Paley--Wiener theorem.

Abstract:In this paper we describe a proof of the formulas of Witten [W1], [W2] about the symplectic volumes and the intersection numbers of the moduli spaces of principal bundles on a compact Riemann surface. It is known that these formulas give all the information needed for the Verlinde formula. The main idea of the proof is to use the heat kernel on compact Lie groups, in a way very similar to the heat kernel proof of the Atiyah-Singer index formula and the Atiyah-Bott fixed point formula. The Reidemeister torsion comes into the picture, through a beautiful observation of Witten, as the symplectic volume of the moduli space. It plays the role similar to that played by the Ray-Singer torsion in the path-integral computations on the space of connections. The basic idea is as follows. Consider a smooth map between two compact smooth manifolds f : M → N . Let H(t, x, x0) be the heat kernel of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on N with x0 a fixed regular value of f . Abstract:We study inequalities of the form \begin{equation*} \rho ( \lvert \hat{f} \rvert) \leq C \sigma(f) < \infty, \end{equation*} with $f \in L_{1}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, the Lebesgue-integrable functions on $\mathbb{R}^n$ and \begin{equation*} \hat{f}(\xi) := \int_{\mathbb{R}^n} f(x) \, e^{- 2 \pi i \xi \cdot x} dx, \ \ \ \xi \in \mathbb{R}^n. \end{equation*} The functionals $\rho$ and $\sigma$ are so-called rearrangement-invariant (r.i.) norms on $M_{+}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, the nonnegative measurable functions on $\mathbb{R}^n$. Results first proved in the general context of r.i. spaces are then both specialized and expanded on in the special cases of Orlicz spaces and of Lorentz Gamma spaces.

Abstract:Our primary objective in this article is to establish Hörmander type $L^p \rightarrow L^q$ Fourier multiplier theorems in the context of noncompact type Riemannian symmetric spaces $\mathbb{X}$ of arbitrary rank for the range $1 < p \leq 2 \leq q < \infty$. As a consequence of the Fourier multiplier theorem, we also derive a spectral multiplier theorem on $\mathbb{X}$. We then apply this theorem to prove $L^p \rightarrow L^q$ boundedness for functions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator and to obtain embedding theorems and operator estimates for the potentials and heat semigroups. Additionally, we provide mixed-norm versions of the Hausdorff-Young and Paley inequalities. In this context, where the Fourier transform is holomorphic, and its domain consists of various strips, we present two versions of these inequalities and explore their interrelation. Furthermore, our findings and methods are also applicable to harmonic $NA$ groups, also known as Damek-Ricci spaces.

Abstract:For the super-hyperbolic space in any dimension, we introduce the non-Euclidean Helgason–Fourier transform. We prove an inversion formula exhibiting residue contributions at the poles of the Harish-Chandra c-function, signalling discrete parts in the spectrum. The proof is based on a detailed study of the spherical superfunctions, using recursion relations and localization techniques to normalize them precisely, careful estimates of their derivatives, and a rigorous analysis of the boundary terms appearing in the polar coordinate expression of the invariant integral.

Abstract:This article explores weighted $(L^p, L^q)$ inequalities for the Fourier transform in rank one Riemannian symmetric spaces of noncompact type. We establish both necessary and sufficient conditions for these inequalities to hold. To prove the weighted Fourier inequalities, we apply restriction theorems on symmetric spaces and utilize Calder{ó}n's estimate for sublinear operators. While establishing the necessary conditions, we demonstrate that Harish-Chandra's elementary spherical functions play a crucial role in this setting. Furthermore, we apply our findings to derive Fourier inequalities with polynomial and exponential weights.

Abstract:We consider a uniqueness problem concerning the Fourier coefficients of normalized Cauchy transforms. These problems inherently involve proving a simultaneous approximation phenomenon and establishing the existence of cyclic inner functions in certain sequence spaces. Our results have several applications in different directions. First, we offer a new non-probabilistic proof of a classic theorem by Kahane and Katzenelson on simultaneous approximation. Secondly, we demonstrate the absence of uniform admissible majorants of Fourier coefficients in de Branges-Rovnyak spaces.

Abstract:This paper conducts a geometric analysis of the Joint-Eigenspace Fourier transform of the symmetric space of the non-compact type. Our study shows how the Poisson transform builds up the well-known Helgason Fourier transform for an analysis of the complete duality of the underlying symetric space. Among other results, we establish an inversion formula, a Plancherel formula and (as our main result) a Paley-Wiener theorem for the Joint-Eigenspace Fourier transform on any noncompact symmetric space.

Abstract:Let $\vec{p}\in(0,1]^n$ be a $n$-dimensional vector and $A$ a dilation. Let $H_A^{\vec{p}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ denote the anisotropic mixed-norm Hardy space defined via the radial maximal function. Using the known atomic characterization of $H_{A}^{\vec{p}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and establishing a uniform estimate for corresponding atoms, the authors prove that the Fourier transform of $f\in H_A^{\vec{p}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ coincides with a continuous function $F$ on $\mathbb{R}^n$ in the sense of tempered distributions. Moreover, the function $F$ can be controlled pointwisely by the product of the Hardy space norm of $f$ and a step function with respect to the transpose matrix of $A$. As applications, the authors obtain a higher order of convergence for the function $F$ at the origin, and an analogue of Hardy--Littlewood inequalities in the present setting of $H_A^{\vec{p}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$.

Abstract:We define and study symmetrized and antisymmetrized multivariate exponential functions. They are defined as determinants and antideterminants of matrices whose entries are exponential functions of one variable. These functions are eigenfunctions of the Laplace operator on corresponding fundamental domains satisfying certain boundary conditions. To symmetric and antisymmetric multivariate exponential functions there correspond Fourier transforms. There are three types of such Fourier transforms: expansions into corresponding Fourier series, integral Fourier transforms, and multivariate finite Fourier transforms. Eigenfunctions of the integral Fourier transforms are found.

Abstract:Alesker has proved the existence of a remarkable isomorphism of the space of translation-invariant smooth valuations that has the same functorial properties as the classical Fourier transform. In this paper, we show how to directly describe this isomorphism in terms of the Fourier transform on functions. As a consequence, we obtain simple proofs of the main properties of the Alesker--Fourier transform. One of these properties was previously only conjectured by Alesker and is proved here for the first time.

Abstract:This article presents a convenient approach to Fourier analysis for the investigation of functions and distributions defined in $\mathbb{T}^m \times \mathbb{R}^n$. Our approach involves the utilization of a mixed Fourier transform, incorporating both partial Fourier series on the torus for the initial variables and partial Fourier transform in Euclidean space for the remaining variables. By examining the behaviour of the mixed Fourier coefficients, we achieve a comprehensive characterization of the spaces of fast decaying smooth functions and distributions in this context. Additionally, we apply our results to derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the Schwartz global hypoellipticity of a class of differential operators defined on $\mathbb{T} \times \mathbb{R}$, including all constant coefficient first order differential operators.

Abstract:In this article, we continue our study of 'Frobenius structures' and symplectic spectral invariants in the context of symplectic spinors. By studying the case of $C^1$-small Hamiltonian mappings on symplectic manifolds $M$ admitting a metaplectic structure and a parallel $\hat O(n)$-reduction of its metaplectic frame bundle we derive how the construction of 'singularly rigid' resp. 'self-dual' pairs of irreducible Frobenius structures associated to this Hamiltonian mapping $\Phi$ leads to a Hopf-algebra-type structure on the set of irreducible Frobenius structures. We then generalize this construction and define abstractly conditions under which 'dual pairs' associated to a given $C^1$-small Hamiltonian mapping emerge, these dual pairs are essentially pairs $(s_1, J_1), (s_2, J_2)$ of closed sections of the cotangent bundle $T^*M$ and (in general singular) compatible almost complex structures on $M$ satisfying certain integrability conditions involving a Koszul bracket. In the second part of this paper, we translate these characterizing conditions for general 'dual pairs' of Frobenius structures associated to a $C^1$-small Hamiltonian system into the notion of matrix factorization. We propose an algebraic setting involving modules over certain fractional ideals of function rings on $M$ so that the set of 'dual pairs' in the above sense and the set of matrix factorizations associated to these modules stand in bijective relation. We prove, in the real-analytic case, a Riemann Roch-type theorem relating a certain Euler characteristic arising from a given matrix factorization in the above sense to (integral) cohomological data on $M$ using Cheeger-Simons-type differential characters, derived from a given pair $(s_1, J_1), (s_2, J_2)$. We propose extensions of these techniques to the case of 'geodesic convexity-smallness' of $\Phi$ and to the case of general Hamiltonian systems on $M$.

In this paper, we extend to a norm-decreasing operator between -spaces with a vector measure for each . This extension will be used to derive properties of invariant vector measures on G / H . Moreover, a definition of the Fourier transform for -functions with a vector measure is introduced on G / H . We also prove the uniqueness theorem and the Riemann–Lebesgue lemma.

Abstract:Let L=-\Delta+V be a Schrödinger operator on R^d, d\geq 3. We assume that V is a nonnegative, compactly supported potential that belongs to L^p(R^d), for some p>d/2. Let K_t be the semigroup generated by -L. We say that an L^1(R^d)-function f belongs to the Hardy space H_L^1 associated with L if sup_{t>0} |K_t f| belongs to L^1(R^d). We prove that f\in H_L^1 if and only if R_j f \in L^1(R^d) for j=1,...,d, where R_j= \frac{d}{dx_j} L^{-1/2} are the Riesz transforms associated with L.

Abstract:Let $p(\cdot):\ \mathbb{R}^n\to(0,1]$ be a variable exponent function satisfying the globally log-Hölder continuous condition and $A$ a general expansive matrix on $\mathbb{R}^n$. Let $H_A^{p(\cdot)}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ be the variable anisotropic Hardy space associated with $A$ defined via the radial maximal function. In this article, via the known atomic characterization of $H_{A}^{p(\cdot)}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and establishing two useful estimates on anisotropic variable atoms, the author shows that the Fourier transform $\widehat{f}$ of $f\in H_A^{p(\cdot)}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ coincides with a continuous function $F$ in the sense of tempered distributions, and $F$ satisfies a pointwise inequality which contains a step function with respect to $A$ as well as the Hardy space norm of $f$. As applications, the author also obtains a higher order convergence of the continuous function $F$ at the origin. Finally, an analogue of the Hardy--Littlewood inequality in the variable anisotropic Hardy space setting is also presented. All these results are new even in the classical isotropic setting.

Abstract:We formulate a variant of Fourier restriction for operators in Schatten classes, where the Fourier-Wigner transform of a bounded operator replaces the Fourier transform of a function. The Fourier-Wigner transform is closely related to the group Fourier transform of the Heisenberg group. The first result shows that Fourier-Wigner restriction for Schatten class operators is equivalent to the restriction of the symplectic Fourier transform of functions on phase space. We deduce various Schatten class results for the quantum Fourier extension operator and answer a conjecture by Mishra and Vemuri concerning the Weyl transform of measures in the affirmative.
