Abstract:BACKGROUND:Lymphoma patients encounter many problems. Studies investigating the illness experiences of Chinese patients with lymphoma are limited.OBJECTIVE:The objectives of this study were to explore the illness experiences of lymphoma patients in China and describe the impacts of this disease on the everyday lives of these individuals.METHODS:A descriptive qualitative design was used. The data were collected through face-to-face semistructured interviews and analyzed using the conventional content analysis method.RESULTS:Nine men and 7 women participated in this study. The following 6 themes emerged: (1) cancer diagnosis reactions, (2) self-image altered, (3) interpersonal relationships influenced, (4) career development hindered, (5) life philosophy changed, and (6) personal growth achieved.CONCLUSIONS:This study contributes new knowledge to the understanding of the illness experiences of lymphoma patients within the Chinese social and cultural context. This study also reveals how these individuals cope with the complex problems they face.IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE:Nurses could help Chinese patients with lymphoma accept the disease and its treatments by emphasizing the importance of family integrity. Information, such as how to act in response to workplace discrimination, should be provided to patients by oncology nurses.

Abstract:BACKGROUND:The number of global hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) survivors is increasing rapidly. Survivors encounter many challenges, but studies regarding survivorship experiences in China are scarce.OBJECTIVES:This study aimed to explore the survivorship experiences of Chinese patients with hematological cancers after HSCT and to describe the impact of HSCT on the survivors' lives.METHODS:Descriptive qualitative research was used. Purposive sampling was used to recruit HSCT survivors who were treated in a teaching hospital in Zhejiang Province from June 2021 to June 2022. Audio-recorded semistructured interviews were conducted, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed via conventional content analysis.RESULTS:Fifteen HSCT survivors aged 18 to 59 years participated in this study. Four themes and 11 subthemes emerged: (1) transplant being harder than you thought (body function impaired, forced to modify diet, disturbed by survivorship uncertainty), (2) difficulty blending into circles (limited activity space, suffering from discrimination), (3) adjusting value judgment (health being a top priority, contributing to family as much as possible, feeling worthless), and (4) still being the lucky one (recovered better than others, genuine relationships acquired, self-improvement achieved).CONCLUSION:This study offers insight into subjective survivorship experiences of patients with hematological cancers post-HSCT within a Chinese sociocultural context and presents changed perceptions of HSCT, life alterations, adjusted value judgments, and positive self-evaluation since treatment.IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE:Nurses can provide person-centered survivorship care based on the understanding of survivorship experiences of Chinese HSCT survivors. Intervention programs and informational materials should be developed to address difficulties encountered by Chinese HSCT survivors.
Psychological distress, sexual satisfaction and quality of life of gynaecological cancer patients and their spouses during cancer survivorship: A comparison of husbands and wives

Abstract:Aims and Objectives To investigate the psychological distress, sexual satisfaction, and quality of life of gynaecological cancer survivors and their spouses during cancer survivorship. Background The survival rate of patients with cancer is increasing owing to advances in medical treatment technology. Spouses are the closest companions of gynaecological cancer survivors. Patients with gynaecological cancer and their spouses face different situations and challenges after experiencing cancer invasion. Design Questionnaire‐based cross‐sectional study. Methods Convenience sampling was employed, and 180 participants, including patients with gynaecological cancer and their spouses, were enrolled. A structured questionnaire was used to investigate the psychological distress, sexual satisfaction, and quality of life of gynaecological cancer survivors and their spouses during acute, extended, and permanent survivorship. The STROBE checklist guided the study preparation. Results For gynaecological cancer survivors and their spouses, (1) severe psychological distress was present during acute survivorship, with anxiety extending until permanent survivorship; (2) no significant differences were observed in pre‐ and post‐treatment sexual satisfaction, although pre‐treatment sexual satisfaction was higher than post‐treatment sexual satisfaction in all three cancer survivorship stages and (3) quality of life decreased during acute survivorship and gradually improved with time. Conclusions Psychological distress, sexual satisfaction and quality of life of gynaecological cancer survivors and their spouses worsened during acute survivorship and improved over time until permanent survivorship. Relevance to Clinical Practice Gynaecological cancer survivors and their spouses experience anxiety and depression from diagnosis confirmation until permanent survivorship (>5 years survival). Therefore, clinical nurses' sensitivity to emotional distress in cancer survivors and their spouses can be improved and a consistent and routine evaluation method has been established for the early detection of such emotional distress. The results of this study can provide a reference for clinical healthcare professionals and contribute to a better quality of care.

Abstract:<span>As the number of breast cancer survivors increases, these patients with sexual problems also increase. For breast cancer survivors, sexual problems are a common and painful experience. Although breast cancer survivors often encounter sexual problems, Taiwanese women are culturally conservative and patients rarely discuss sex problems with clinicians. In this study, we used qualitative methods to better understand the changes in sexual life and related care strategies for breast cancer survivors. Twenty interviews were conducted on clinical patients enrolled in hospitals that received breast cancer treatment. The data were analysed by performing a constant comparative analysis. Three themes emerged: the causes of changes in sexual life, internal response strategies and external response strategies. Ten subthemes were identified. Changes in sexual life in patients with breast cancer in this study included changes related to body image, influence of friends and family, age, genital problems, and illegal love of a partner. Breast cancer survivors can tolerate and regulate sexual life changes by adopting internal and external response strategies. Medical staff must be sensitive and must understand strategies for dealing with sexual life changes that may occur during cancer adjustment and how these strategies can help women's well-being in the rest of their lives.</span>

Abstract:BACKGROUND:An earlier study revealed that Mainland Chinese women experienced a relatively low health-related quality of life during the first 3 months after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. This merited conducting a qualitative study to explore their experiences during this period.OBJECTIVE:The aim of this study was to describe the experiences of Chinese women with cervical cancer in the first 3 months after diagnosis.METHODS:A descriptive phenomenological method was used. Fourteen participants were interviewed at the time of diagnosis and 10 were reinterviewed 3 months later. The number of interviews conducted was determined by data saturation.RESULTS:Five themes were discerned: dealing with the emotional chaos down to the hassles caused by the disease and its treatment, handling the diagnosis and the disease in my own way and in accordance with Chinese culture, instinctively depending on my partner and experiencing improved relationships within the family but no sexual life, sharing information and support with fellow patients but hiding the diagnosis from friends and acquaintances, and returning to previous existence wanting to be treated as normal but with changed attitudes to life.CONCLUSIONS:The lived experience was seen as a sudden life transition triggered by receiving the diagnosis. Cultural and societal contexts influenced patient adaptation to the situation.IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE:Family members and fellow patients could be mobilized to help patients since their support was highly valued. Regarding their hope for an ordinary life, patients could benefit from the relief of adverse effects and information, for instance, on how to resume sexual activity.

Abstract:Matters of sexuality and intimacy greatly impact quality of life of patients with gynecologic cancers. Vast amount of evidence exists showing that cancer dramatically impacts woman's sexuality, sexual functioning, intimate relationships and sense of self. Sexual functioning can be affected by illness, pain, anxiety, anger, stressful circumstances and medications. There is a growing acknowledgement that these needs are not being appropriately addressed by providers. With improvements in early detection, surgery and adjuvant therapy for gynecologic cancer, long term survival and cure are becoming possible. Quality of life is thus becoming a major issue for patients. Patients suffer from hot flashes, difficulty sleeping, loss of libido and intimacy, all resulting in significant morbidity and loss of quality of life. Using hormone replacement therapy in gynecologic cancer survivors is a topic a great debate. While limited studies are available to date, retrospective cohort reviews show no reported differences in overall or disease-free survival in patients using hormone replacements vs. controls in patients with ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical, vaginal or vulva cancer. Since safety of using HRT remains controversial and prospective studies are lacking, providers need to be able to provide alternatives to HRT. Centrally acting agents such as antiseizure agent gabapentin and selective serotonine re-uptake inhibitors, such as venlafaxine and fluoxitine have been demonstrated to show effectiveness in treating vasomotor symptoms and are easily tolerated. To address cardiovascular and osteoporosis risks of post-menopausal status, exercise, healthy diet, bisphosphonates, raloxifen and statins have been found to be effective. Psychotherapy plays an essential part in management of these issues. Review of the literature reveals recent trends among health psychologists to utilize psychoeducational interventions that include combined elements of cognitive and behavioral therapy with education and mindfulness training. Intervention studies have found positive effects from this approach, particularly within the areas of arousal, orgasm, satisfaction, overall well-being, and decreased depression. Many of patients' issues are easy to address with either hormonal, non-hormonal or psychotherapy modifications. The essential part of success is the providers appreciation of this serous problem and willingness and comfort in addressing it.

Abstract:PurposeSexual life is a multidimensional issue that can be affected negatively after gynecological cancer. The aim of this study was to reveal what sexuality life difficulties Iranian women with gynecological cancers experience.MethodsA qualitative approach was conducted through face-to-face semi-structured interviews with 16 Iranian women with gynecological cancer and then analyzed with conventional content analysis.ResultsThree themes emerged from the data: (1) participant’s struggle to maintain the sexual monopoly of the husband, (2) deterioration of intimacy, and (3) unpleasant bed-life experiences. Most women are ashamed to talk about their sexual relationships problems, and on the other hand, nurses and physicians ignore to talk about their sexual problems, so these women are alone in the face of this problem.ConclusionAlthough women with gynecological cancer experience sexual problems such as reluctant to have sex and lack of enjoyment, they struggle to maintain sexual life with their husbands. These women do not have enough support. They believe that sexuality is a shameful issue, and they are reluctant to ask questions about it. Health professionals need to talk about the possibility of sexual problems due to changes in their bodies caused by cancer. These women need to be encouraged to talk about these problems, with consideration to their religious and cultural differences.

Abstract:Aim To explore women's experience and management of cancer‐related fatigue and psychological distress during treatment for gynaecological cancer. Design Qualitative descriptive study. Methods Face‐to‐face semistructured individual interviews were conducted with 23 women in mainland China undergoing treatment for gynaecological cancer between July and October 2023. Data were analysed using content analysis. Results Three categories were identified: overwhelming experience of cancer‐related fatigue, diverse experiences of psychological distress and strategies for managing cancer‐related fatigue and psychological distress. Participants reported physical exhaustion and emotional fatigue, disrupting their normal lives. Psychological distress included distress due to cancer treatment, psychological burden associated with social relationships, frustration with being ill and worries about disease progression and recurrence. Strategies for managing symptoms were mainly nonpharmacological, with some unable to find suitable methods. Conclusion This study found that participants had a complex experience of cancer‐related fatigue and psychological distress, influenced by social expectations regarding women's roles and treatment impacts on reproductive health and femininity. These findings underscore the need for comprehensive interventions involving family members or fellow patients to reduce both symptoms. Implications for Patient Care Nurses should focus on addressing cancer‐related fatigue and psychological distress in women receiving treatment for gynaecological cancer, particularly in adolescents and young adults. It is essential to provide comprehensive care to improve their physical and psychological well‐being. Impact This study explored how women with gynaecological cancer experience and manage cancer‐related fatigue and psychological distress. The findings highlight the need for holistic care that addresses physical and psychological symptoms. Nurses should consider the impact of reproductive health and femininity on symptom experiences and management. Furthermore, the findings could inform the development of evidence‐based interventions to improve the physical and psychological well‐being of women with gynaecological cancer. Abstract:Chinese patients face higher risks of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers and greater cancer-related deaths than Canadian-born patients. The older population encounters barriers to quality healthcare, impacting their well-being and survival. Previous studies highlighted Chinese immigrant perceptions of not requiring healthcare support. During the COVID-19 pandemic, their underutilization of healthcare services garnered attention. The present study explores the experiences of older Chinese cancer patients to improve culturally sensitive cancer care. A total of twenty interviews carried out in Cantonese and Mandarin were conducted with Chinese immigrants, aged 60 or above, diagnosed with Stage 3 or 4 GI cancer. These interviews were transcribed verbatim, translated, and subjected to qualitative descriptive analysis. Among older Chinese immigrant patients, a phenomenon termed "Premature Acceptance: Normalizing Death and Dying" was observed. This involved four key themes: 1. acceptance and letting go, 2. family first, 3. self-sufficiency, and 4. barriers to supportive care. Participants displayed an early acceptance of their own mortality, prioritizing family prosperity over their own quality of life. Older Chinese patients normalize the reality of facing death amidst cancer. They adopt a pragmatic outlook, acknowledging life-saving treatments while willingly sacrificing their own support needs to ease family burdens. Efforts to enhance health literacy require culturally sensitive programs tailored to address language barriers and differing values among this population. A strengths-based approach emphasizing family support and practical aspects of care may help build resilience and improve symptom management, thereby enhancing their engagement with healthcare services.

Abstract:Quality of life (QOL) has become an integral part of the modern assessment of cancer treatment in Western society. However, little is known about the QOL of Chinese breast cancer survivors. To evaluate the long-term impact of medical and socio-demographic factors on survivors' QOL, we conducted a population-based study of 1065 breast cancer survivors in Shanghai, China. The mean age at diagnosis was 48.1 years and the median survival time was 4.3 years for the study participants. The Generic Quality of Life Inventory was used to assess survivors' QOL. Multiple linear regression models were employed to analyze the associations of QOL outcomes with socio-demographic and medical factors. The results revealed that recurrence status, time since diagnosis, marital status, income and education all had an independent, significant association with overall QOL and differential domains of QOL. Age at diagnosis exhibited a dual effect on QOL, positively associated with material well-being and negatively associated with physical well-being. Stage of disease was only associated with social well-being, while the type of surgery was related to material well-being alone. No associations between QOL and chemotherapy or radiotherapy were found. Further, analyses by survival intervals suggested a domain-specific order of recovery of QOL after cancer treatment. These results fill gaps in the limited literature, and provide valuable information for physicians to target the specific needs of Chinese women with breast cancer, choose appropriate interventions at the optimal time, and develop strategies accordingly in terms of improvement of patient's QOL.

Abstract:When a physician disqualifies an athlete based on theoretical deleterious effects, he is doing so based on the perception that the risk of participation is sufficient to override the athlete's desire to participate (4). If sports participation is very important to the athlete, the sports physician should determine what interventions might reduce the risk of participation. Rather than look for reasons for disqualification, the team physician should look for ways for the athlete to participate more safely and reduce the risk of injury. (If the risk of participation is too high, the athlete should be disqualified.) In this case an aggressive shoulder rehabilitation program and prompt follow-up of his asthma and anemia would have been helpful to this athlete's participation in football. In general, team physicians should weigh all the potential risks and benefits in each case and involve the athlete and the family when these difficult playability issues arise. The team physician should be mindful of potential conflicts of interests and should be careful to avoid imposing his or her own values on the athlete. In this case, the disqualification of this athlete based on obesity was not in his best interest. Whether the potential conflicts in decision making played a role in the decision in this case will never be known. Weighing the facts as presented, I believe the athlete's interests would have been better served by allowing him to play after completing a shoulder rehabilitation program.
Multicentre Randomized Controlled Trial of a Nurse‐Led Sexual Rehabilitation Intervention to Rebuild Sexuality and Intimacy After Treatment for Gynecological Cancer

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of a sexual rehabilitation program, SEXHAB, in improving sexual functioning, reducing sexual distress, and enhancing marital satisfaction for women after gynecological cancer treatment. Methods This is a randomized controlled trial that included 150 women newly diagnosed with gynecological cancer from three public hospitals in Hong Kong. Participants were randomly assigned to the intervention group (n = 78) to receive the SEXHAB or to an attention control group (n = 72) to receive attention. The SEXHAB comprises four individual‐ or couple‐based sessions with three major components: information provision, cognitive‐behavioral therapy and counseling using motivational interviewing skills. The outcomes were measured at baseline (T0), upon completion of the program (T1) and 12‐month post‐treatment (T2). Semi‐structured interviews were also conducted with the SEXHAB group participants to explore their experiences with and opinions toward the program. Results At both follow‐ups, there were no statistically significant differences between groups in improving sexual functioning, sexual distress and marital satisfaction. Nevertheless, participants in the SEXHAB group reported their partners having significantly greater sexual interest at T1 (76% vs. 52%, rate ratio: 1.46, 95% CI: 1.07 to 1.99, p = 0.024) and T2 (74% vs. 48%, rate ratio: 1.55, 95% CI: 1.11 to 2.10, p = 0.014). From the qualitative interviews, the interviewees who resumed sexual activity reported positive experiences in rebuilding sexuality and intimacy. Conclusions Despite the quantitative results are negative, the qualitative findings suggest potential benefits of the SEXHAB for women resuming sexual activities after treatment for gynecological cancer. Further studies with longer intervention period and follow‐ups are needed to confirm the intervention effects.

Clear Cell Adenocarcinoma Associated With Clear Cell Adenofibromatous Components: A Subgroup of Ovarian Clear Cell Adenocarcinoma With Distinct Clinicopathologic Characteristics

Abstract:We occasionally encountered clear cell adenofibromatous (CCAF) components coexisting in the ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma (CCA). To reveal the clinicopathologic significance of CCAF components in CCA, we classified 67 cases of surgically resected CCA into CCA with and without CCAF components [CCAF(+) and (−) groups], and compared clinicopathologic parameters, that is, patient age, clinical stage, the degree of optimal cytoreduction, patient outcome, histologic grade and Ki-67 labeling index of the CCA, and the presence of endometriosis, between these 2 groups. Fourteen cases (21%) and 53 cases were classified as CCAF(+) and CCAF(−) groups, respectively. Of these 14 CCAF(+) cases, the CCAF components with atypia were observed adjacent to the CCAF components without atypia in 10, and adjacent to the obvious CCAs in 13 cases. In comparison with the CCAF(−) group, the CCAF(+) group showed a higher frequency of histologically low-grade tumors [93% (13 of 14) vs. 43% (23 of 53), P=0.0027], a lower Ki-67 labeling index (mean 35.9% vs. 44.0%, P=0.0492), and better patient prognosis (5-year survival 78.8% vs. 49.3%, P=0.0277). Endometriosis was much less frequent in the CCAF(+) group than in the CCAF(−) group [14.7% (2 of 14) vs. 67.9% (36 of 53), P=0.00096]. Multivariate analysis identified only optimal cytoreduction as independent favorable prognostic factor. These results suggest that CCAF besides endometriosis is associated with the development of CCA, and that the CCAF(+) group may be a distinct subgroup of CCA with less aggressive biologic behavior.
A Qualitative Exploration of the Unmet Psychosocial Rehabilitation Needs of Cancer Survivors in China

Abstract:Objective: This study explores the unmet psychosocial rehabilitation needs of cancer survivors.Methods: Sixty-eight cancer survivors from the Shanghai Cancer Rehabilitation Club in China participated in one of the eight focus groups. These were transcribed verbatim, coded using thematic analysis and analysed using NVivo 10.Results: Five main themes were identified: the need for (1) better information: Chinese cancer survivors find it difficult to sort and evaluate the overwhelming mass of information with which they are confronted; (2) psychological support: survivors fear cancer relapse and neighbours' discrimination against them; support from other cancer survivors can relieve the stress; (3) support for survivors' families: like the survivors, family members are under great hut usually unacknowledged pressure; (4) improved health and medical services: community health service centres provide little medical, informational or psychological support for cancer survivors, who seek and expect more communication with doctors; and (5) assistance with the financial burden: costs of treatment and lack of adequate medical insurance cause substantial financial pressure for survivors.Conclusions: This study shows that, in addition to their illness, Chinese cancer survivors experience a range of stresses related to their financial circumstances, lack of reliable and summarised information, poor access to support and services (including for their families) and discrimination. Support from families seems to improve survivors' ability to cope. Cancer survivors (and their families) need an integrated package of support from their families, doctors and other service providers, hospitals and communities. Evaluation of the sexual quality of life and sexual function of cervical cancer survivors after cancer treatment: a retrospective trial

Abstract:Objective The purpose of this study was to explore the factors influencing the sexual quality of life of patients with cervical cancer who underwent radical hysterectomy. Methods This multicenter retrospective cohort study was conducted from June 2013 to June 2018 at nine hospitals in China. In total, 204 women diagnosed with stage IA to stage IIB cervical cancer who underwent radical hysterectomy completed the questionnaire. Sexual function was measured with the Pelvic Organ Prolapse/Urinary Incontinence Sexual Questionnaire (PISQ). All analyses were performed with R version 3.4.3 statistical software packages. A two-sided significance level of 0.05 was used to evaluate the statistical significance. Results The mean sexual quality of life score was 37.21 ± 17.28, where a higher PISQ score indicates a better sexual quality of life, and we identified the factors associated with sexual dysfunction. The average follow-up time was 29.0 ± 16.0 months. In addition to radical hysterectomy, 182 (89.2%) patients underwent ovarian suspension, 93 (45.6%) underwent chemotherapy, and 74 (36.3%) underwent concurrent radiotherapy. The univariate analysis confirmed that age represents a protective factor for sexual function (odds ratio (OR) 6.0, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.1–10.8, p = 0.017). The patients who underwent ovarian suspension were more likely to experience a good sexual quality of life (OR − 7.2, 95% CI [− 14.8, − 0.4], p = 0.035) compared to those who did not undergo ovarian suspension. A significant negative association was observed between radiotherapy and the behavioral-emotive, physical and partner-related domains of the PISQ (behavioral-emotive, OR − 1.5, 95% CI [− 2.6, − 0.4], p = 0.011; physical, OR − 0.9, 95% CI [− 1.5, − 0.3], p = 0.006; partner-related, OR − 0.7, 95% CI [− 1.3, 0.0], p = 0.043). Chemotherapy and radiotherapy were common risk factors for sexual dysfunction, and radiotherapy exerted a stronger effect than chemotherapy. Conclusions This study shows that the sexual function of cervical cancer patients tends to be related to age, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. However, across these factors, patients with preserved ovaries tend to return to a satisfactory sexual quality of life after recovering from surgery.

Abstract:Abstract Background Family interaction is an important factor contributing to the quality of survivorship among breast cancer survivors. The dearth of studies involving young females with breast cancer has limited the understanding of family interaction in this increasingly large population. Methods The aim of this study was to explore family interaction patterns among young Chinese breast cancer survivors. We conducted in-depth interviews with seventeen young breast cancer survivors (YBCSs) in China between May 2019 and December 2019. A content analysis was performed to identify the characteristics of family interaction in this population. Conceptualizations of feminism and social support were used to guide the data analysis. Results Family interaction patterns were categorized into 5 domains from the perceptions of Chinese YBCSs: (1) adjustment of parenthood (changes in child-rearing approaches, perception of children’s care) (2) ambivalence towards intimacy (desire for intimate relationships, perceived relationship insecurity); (3) concerns regarding fertility; (4) return to work (coping with gratitude and guilt by working, readapting to family and society by working); (5) activation of the support system in a large family (instrumental support from core family members, instrumental, informational, and appraisal support from relatives). Conclusions The study provides a deeper understanding of the interactions between young breast cancer survivors and their family members in China. These findings can support health professionals in developing female-sensitive, culturally specific interventions to assist Chinese YBCSs and their families in increasing positive interactions and family resilience as well as quality of life. In addition, the findings are highly applicable to other female cancer survivors and their vulnerable families exposed to similar social and cultural contexts.

Abstract:Objectives To explore the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) by Chinese gynaecological oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy and discuss measures to address the existing gaps. Design Qualitative phenomenology. Semistructured in-depth interview. Colaizzi's method data analysis. Setting A tertiary general hospital. Participants 16 gynaecological oncology patients (mean age 51.7) having undergone ≥1 chemotherapy cycle were recruited by purposive sampling. Results Six themes were generated. The participants were under-informed about CAM concept and options. They were open to explore various modalities after chemotherapy as long as it could alleviate symptoms. The gynaecological patients with cancer sought information about CAM from diverse sources, with professional expertise being the most desirable way to seek information. They used CAM as a strategy to support continued chemotherapy and for symptom alleviation. Financial burden was not stressed but they had concerns about sustainability of some therapies. Their attitudes toward different CAM types varied. Some were sceptical about the efficacy. Conclusions The Chinese gynaecological oncology patients may be under-informed about CAM. They are open to use various CAM therapies for symptom relief and as a support strategy. However, their attitudes toward specific therapies may vary. Some may host scepticism about certain CAM modalities. The patients actively seek information on CAM and treatment resources but prefer professional expertise to other sources. Financial burden due to continued CAM use is inconclusive due to possible sampling bias. Sustainability of CAM therapies is a common concern because of limited resources and access. Education on CAM should be incorporated into the curriculum of healthcare professionals. Oncologists and nurses should educate gynaecological patients with cancer on the concept and options of CAM, preferably with information tailored to patient's individual needs. Health authorities should advocate provisions of diverse CAM services and develop the necessary technologies such as network of local care resources.
