Abstract:We analyze the CP asymmetries of B --> phiK and B-->eta((1)) K modes in the QCD improved factorization framework. The phenomenological parameters are determined from the global fit for the available B --> P P and V P modes (without the subprocess b --> s (s) over bars). The large negative sin(2phi(1))(phiKs) and the large branching ratio for B+/--->eta' K+/- can be simultaneously explained in the context of R-parity conserving SUGRA models and R-parity violating SUSY models satisfying all possible experimental data. Abstract:In the framework of R-parity violating (RPV) supersymmetry (SUSY), we show that the large negative sin(2phi(1))phiK(s) and the large branching ratio for B+/- --> eta(1)K(+/-) can be simultaneously explained. In order to calculate the relevant hadronic matrix elements, we adopt the QCD factorization approach and use the global fit for the available B --> PP and VP modes (without the quark-level subprocess b --> sss) to determine the phenomenological parameters for the calculation. We find that all the observed data can be accommodated for certain values of the RPV SUSY couplings.

Abstract:We report a measurement of the CP-violation parameter phi(1) obtained in a time-dependent analysis of B-0 -> (D) over bar(*)(0)h(0) decays followed by (D) over bar (0) -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi decay. A model-independent measurement is performed using the binned Dalitz plot technique. The measured value is phi(1) = 11.7 degrees +/- 7.8 degrees(stat) +/- 2.1 degrees (syst). Treating sin 2 phi(1) and cos 2 phi(1) as independent parameters, we obtain sin 2 phi(1) = 0.43 +/- 0.27(stat) +/- 0.08(syst) and cos 2 phi(1) = 1.06 +/- 0.33(stat)(-0.15)(+0.21)(syst). The results are obtained with a full data sample of 772 x 10(6)B (B) over bar pairs collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider.

Abstract:The asymmetric B-factories have provided valuable information on CP violation so far. In particular, one of the angles of the Unitarity Triangle, phi1(=beta), has been measured by several approaches. Since FPCP2004, some measurements have been updated and improved. In this letter, the latest status of phi1 measurements, performed at BaBar and Belle experiments usgin B -> charm/charmonium decays, are reported.

Abstract:We present measurements of decay amplitudes and triple-product correlations in B -> phi K^* decays based on 253 fb^-1 of data recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^+ e^- storage ring. The decay amplitudes for the three different helicity states are determined from the angular distributions of final state particles. The longitudinal polarization amplitudes are found to be 0.45 +- 0.05 +- 0.02 for B^0 -> phi K^*0 and 0.52 +- 0.08 +- 0.03 for B^+ -> phi K^*+ decays. CP- and T-odd CP-violating triple-product asymmetries are measured to be consistent with zero.

Abstract:We discuss the rescattering effects in decays B→π+K. The picture wetake is very simple: first, B decay into K*ρ, then K* and ρ go tokaon and pion by exchanging a pion. We find a up to ten percent CP violationasymmetry rate. We also discuss its correction to the constraint of angleγ proposed recently.

Abstract:Recent experimental observations of CP asymmetry in B0 -> psi K0 constitute the first significant signal of CP violation outside the neutral kaon system; thus they represent an important milestone to test the CKM paradigm. We, therefore, undertake a critical appraisal of the existing experimental and theoretical inputs used to deduce constraints on sin(2 beta) and other important parameters and thus find, in particular, sin(2 beta) > 0.50 at 95% CL which is completely compatible with the combined experimental result: sin(2 beta) = 0.46 +- 0.17, representing an important success of the CKM model of CP violation. Searches for new physics in B decays to psi+K0 like final states will require improved precision; we make some suggestions to facilitate these. We also present a global fit including the new CP asymmetry measurements in B->psi+K0 as an additional input yielding e.g. gamma =29-56 degrees, eta-bar = >.19-.36, rho-bar=.15-.37, Jcp=(1.8 - 3.0) X 10^(-5), $Br(K+ -> pi+ nu nu-bar)=(0.51 - 0.90) X 10^(-10) and Br(KL -> pi0 nu nu-bar) = (0.11 - 0.31) X 10^(-10) at 95% CL.

Abstract:We exploit the quantum coherence between pair-produced D-0 and (D) over bar (0) in psi(3770) decays to make a first determination of the relative strong phase differences between D-0 -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) and (D) over bar (0) -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-), which are of great importance in determining the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma/phi(3) in B- -> D-0((D) over bar (0))K- decays. Using 818 pb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected with the CLEO-c detector at E-cm 3.77 GeV, we employ a binned Dalitz-plot analysis of K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) and K-L(0)pi(+)pi(-) decays recoiling against flavor-tagged, CP-tagged, and K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-)-tagged events to determine these strong phase differences.

Abstract:We report measurements of time-dependent decay rates for B-0 -> D(*)-pi(+) decays and extraction of CP violation parameters that depend on phi(3). Using fully reconstructed D-(*)pi events and partially reconstructed D-*pi events from a data sample that contains 386x10(6) B (B) over bar pairs that was collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e(+)e(-) collider, we obtain the CP violation parameters S+(D-(*)pi) and S-(D-(*)pi). We obtain S+(D-*pi)=0.049 +/- 0.020(stat)+/- 0.011(sys), S-(D-*pi)=0.031 +/- 0.019(stat)+/- 0.011(sys), and S+(D pi)=0.031 +/- 0.030(stat)+/- 0.012(sys), S-(D pi)=0.068 +/- 0.029(stat)+/- 0.012(sys). These results are an indication of CP violation in B-0 -> D*-pi(+) and B-0 -> D-pi(+) decays at the 2.5 sigma and 2.2 sigma levels, respectively. If we use the values of R-D((*))pi that are derived using assumptions of factorization and SU(3) symmetry, branching fraction measurements for the B -> D-s((*))pi modes, and lattice QCD calculations, we can restrict the allowed region of \sin(2 phi(1)+phi(3)\ to be above 0.44 and 0.52 at 68% confidence level from the D-*pi and D pi modes, respectively.

Abstract:Within the framework of perturbative QCD approach based on $\mathbf{k_T}$ factorization, we investigate the charmless decay mode $B \to K_0^*(1430)\phi$. Under two different scenarios (S1 and S2) for the description of scalar meson $K_0^*(1430)$, we explore the branching fractions and related CP asymmetries. Besides the dominant contributions from the factorizable emission diagrams, penguin operators in the annihilation diagrams could also provide considerable contributions. The central values of our predictions are larger than those from the QCD factorization in both scenarios. Compared with the experimental measurements of the BaBar collaboration, the result of neutral channel in the S1 agrees with experimental data, while the result of the charged one is a bit smaller than the data. In the S2 scenario, although the central value for the branching fractions of both channels are much larger than the data, the predictions could agree with the data due to the large uncertainties to the branching fractions from the hadronic input parameters. The CP asymmetry in the charged channel is small and not sensitive to CKM angle $\gamma$. With the accurate data in near future from the various $B$ factories, these predictions will be under stringent tests.

Abstract:The recently observed B- --> K- pi(0), (K) over bar(0)pi(-) and (B) over bar(0) --> K- pi(+) decay modes appear to have nearly equal branching ratios. This suggests that tree and electroweak penguins play an important role, and inclusion of the latter improves agreement between factorization calculation and experimental data. The value of gamma in the range of 90 degrees-130 degrees and 220 degrees-260 degrees is favored, while the (B) over bar(0) --> (K) over bar(0)pi(0) rate is suppressed. Direct CP violation for B --> K pi modes can be large if final state interaction phases are large.

Abstract:Heavy, as yet undiscovered particles, can affect measurements of CP violation in the B system. Measuring CP violation in the B-s system provides an excellent place to observe such effects since standard model sources are predicted to produce very small effects. The angle -2 beta(s), the "phase of B-s-(B)over bar(s) mixing," thought to be best measured in B-s -> J/psi phi decays is of order -0.04, while the CP violating asymmetry in B-s ->phi phi is predicted to be zero, due to the cancellation of the mixing phase with the decay phase. Recent measurements of beta(s) in J/psi phi, while not definitive, are much larger than the standard model predictions. Measurements in the B-0 and D-s(+) systems of analogous modes point toward a 5-10% contamination of S-wave K+K- under the phi peak. This S-wave was not taken into account in these recent analyses. Furthermore this S-wave can also materialize as a f(0)(980) meson that decays to pi(+)pi(-), making the final state J/psi f(0) useful for measuring beta(s) with the added advantage of not requiring an angular analysis. Rate estimates, while not precise, predict four to five times fewer such events than those in the J/psi phi mode. The error on beta(s), however, may be similar. We also remark on S-wave problems with the B-s ->phi phi mode, and possible systematic checks using B-s ->phi f(0).

Abstract:We present updated measurements of the branching fractions and CP asymmetries for B0 -> pi0 pi0, B+ -> pi+ pi0, and B+ -> K+ pi0. Based on a sample of 383 x 10^6 Upsilon(4S) -> B Bbar decays collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC, we measure B(B0 -> pi0 pi0) =(1.47 +/- 0.25 +/- 0.12) x 10^-6, B(B+ -> pi+ pi0)= (5.02 +/- 0.46 +/- 0.29) x 10^-6, and B(B+ -> K+ pi0) = (13.6 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.7) x 10^-6. We also measure the CP asymmetries C(pi0 pi0) = -0.49 +/- 0.35 +/- 0.05, A(pi+ pi0) = 0.03 +/- 0.08 +/- 0.01, and A(K+ pi0) = 0.030 +/- 0.039 +/- 0.010. Finally, we present bounds on the CKM angle $\alpha$ using isospin relations.

Abstract:Within the framework of the perturbative QCD approach based on k(T) factorization, we investigate the charmless decay mode B -> K-0*(1430)phi. Under two different scenarios (S1 and S2) for the description of scalar meson K-0*(1430), we explore the branching fractions and related CP asymmetries. Besides the dominant contributions from the factorizable emission diagrams, penguin operators in the annihilation diagrams could also provide considerable contributions. The central values of our predictions are larger than those from the QCD factorization in both scenarios. Compared with the experimental measurements of the BaBar Collaboration, the result of the neutral channel in the S1 agrees with experimental data, while the result of the charged one is a bit smaller than the data. In the S2 scenario, although the central value for the branching fractions of both channels is much larger than the data, the predictions could agree with the data due to the large uncertainties to the branching fractions from the hadronic input parameters. The CP asymmetry in the charged channel is small and not sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma. With accurate data in the near future from the various B factories, these predictions will be under stringent tests.

Abstract:A measurement of time-dependent CP violation in the decays of $B^0$ and $\overline{B}^0$ mesons to the final states $J/\psi(\to\mu^+\mu^-)K^0_S$, $\psi(2S)(\to\mu^+\mu^-)K^0_S$ and $J/\psi(\to e^+e^-)K^0_S$ with $K^0_S\to\pi^+\pi^-$ is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb${}^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV with the LHCb detector. The CP-violation parameters are measured to be \begin{align*} S_{\psi K^0_S} &= 0.717 \pm 0.013 (\text{stat}) \pm 0.008 (\text{syst}), \\ C_{\psi K^0_S} &= 0.008 \pm 0.012 (\text{stat}) \pm 0.003 (\text{syst}). \end{align*} This measurement of $S_{\psi K^0_S}$ represents the most precise single measurement of the CKM angle $\beta$ to date and is more precise than the current world average. In addition, measurements of the CP-violation parameters of the individual channels are reported and a combination with the LHCb Run 1 measurements is performed.

Abstract:We present improved measurements of CP-violation parameters in B0→ϕK0, η′K0, K0SK0SK0S decays based on a sample of 535×106 B¯¯¯B pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+e− collider. We obtain sin2ϕeff1=+0.64±0.10(stat)±0.04(syst) for B0→η′K0, +0.50±0.21(stat)±0.06(syst) for B0→ϕK0, and +0.30±0.32(stat)±0.08(syst) for B0→K0SK0SK0S decays. We have observed CP violation in the B0→η′K0 decay with a significance of 5.6 standard deviations. Abstract:A flavor-tagged time-dependent angular analysis of the decay $B_s^{0}\rightarrow\phi\phi$ is performed using $pp$ collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, the center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb^{-1}. The $\it{CP}$-violating phase and direct $\it{CP}$-violation parameter are measured to be $\phi_{s\bar{s}s} = -0.042 \pm 0.075 \pm 0.009 $ rad and $|\lambda|=1.004\pm 0.030 \pm 0.009 $, respectively, assuming the same values for all polarization states of the $\phi\phi$ system. In these results, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. These parameters are also determined separately for each polarization state, showing no evidence for polarization dependence. The results are combined with previous LHCb measurements using $pp$ collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, yielding $\phi_{s\bar{s}s} = -0.074 \pm 0.069 $ rad and $|\lambda|=1.009 \pm 0.030$. This is the most precise study of time-dependent $\it{CP} $ violation in a penguin-dominated $B$ meson decay. The results are consistent with $\it{CP} $ symmetry and with the Standard Model predictions.

Abstract:Using e+e- -> Ds^-Ds^{*+} and Ds^{*-}Ds^+ interactions at 4170 MeV collected with the CLEO-c detector, we investigate the semileptonic decays Ds+ -> f0(980) e+ nu, and Ds+ -> phi e+ nu. By examining the decay rates as functions of the four-momentum transfer squared, q^2, we measure the ratio [dB/dq^2(Ds+ -> f0(980) e+ nu) B(f0 -> pi+pi-)]/[dB/dq^2(Ds+ -> phi e+ nu)B(phi -> K+K-)] at q^2 of zero to be (42 +/- 11)%. This ratio has been predicted to equal the rate ratio [B(Bs -> J/psi f_0)B(f0 -> pi+pi-)]/[B(Bs -> J/psi phi)B(phi -> K+K-)], thus indicating that the CP eigenstate J/psi f0 could be useful for measuring CP violation via Bs mixing. Assuming a simple pole model for the form factor |f+(q^2)| in the f0 e+ nu decay, we find a pole mass of (1.7 {+4.5} {-0.7} +/- 0.2) GeV. We also determine the f0 mass and width as (977 {+11}{-9} +/- 1) MeV, and (91{+30}{-22}+/- 3) MeV, respectively. In addition, we present updated results for B(Ds+ -> f0(980) e+ nu) B(f0 -> pi+pi-)=(0.20 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.01)%, and B}(Ds+ -> phi e+ nu)=(2.36 +/- 0.23 +/- 0.13)%.

Abstract:CP violation in B -> J/psi K-* decays is studied using an angular analysis in a data sample of 253 fb(-1) recorded with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. The flavor separated measurements of the decay amplitudes indicate no evidence for direct CP violation. T-odd CP violation is studied using the asymmetries in triple product correlations, and the results are consistent with the standard model null predictions. The time-dependent angular analysis gives the following values of CP-violating parameters: sin2 phi(1)=0.24 +/- 0.31 +/- 0.05 and cos2 phi(1)=0.56 +/- 0.79 +/- 0.11.
