Abstract:Let $\kappa(G)$ be the connectivity of $G$ and $G\times H$ the direct product of $G$ and $H$. We prove that for any graphs $G$ and $K_n$ with $n\ge 3$, $\kappa(G\times K_n)=min\{n\kappa(G),(n-1)\delta(G)\}$, which was conjectured by Guji and Vumar.

Abstract:Let ${\kappa^{\prime}(G)}$ be the edge connectivity of G and G × H the direct product of G and H. Let H be any graph with minimal degree ${\delta(H)>|V(H)|/2}$ . We prove that for any graph ${G, \kappa^{\prime}(G\times H)=\textup{min}\{2\kappa^{\prime}(G)|E(H)|,\delta(G)\delta(H)\}}$ . In addition, the structure of minimum edge cuts is described. As an application, we present a necessary and sufficient condition for G × K n (n ≥ 3) to be super edge connected.

Abstract:Let κ(G) be the connectivity of G. The Kronecker product G1×G2 of graphs G1 and G2 has vertex set V(G1×G2)=V(G1)×V(G2) and edge set E(G1×G2)={(u1,v1)(u2,v2):u1u2∈E(G1),v1v2∈E(G2)}. In this paper, we prove that κ(G×K2)=min{2κ(G),min{|X|+2|Y|}}, where the second minimum is taken over all disjoint sets X,Y⊆V(G) satisfying (1) G−(X∪Y) has a bipartite component C, and (2) G[V(C)∪{x}] is also bipartite for any x∈X.

Abstract:Let G1 and G2 be two connected graphs.The Kronecker product G1 × G2 is the graph with vertex set V(G1 × G2) = V(G1) × V(G2) and the edge set E(G1 × G2) = {(u1,v1)(u2,v2) : u1 u2 ∈ E(G1),v1v2 ∈ E(G2)}.In this note,we show that G × Kn(n ≥ 4) is super-κ if and only if κ(G)n > δ(G)(n 1),where G is any connected graph and Kn is the complete of n vertices.Furthermore,we show that for any connected graph G with at least three vertices,if κ(G) = δ(G) then G × Kn is super-κ for n ≥ 3.This result strengthens the known results of Guo et al..

Abstract:We study connectivity of a Kronecker product of a general graph G with a complete multipartite graph Kp1,p2,…,pr, where the parameters pk,k=1,…,r satisfy certain conditions. Precisely, we prove that κ(G×Kp1,p2,…,pr)=min{∑i=1rpiκ(G),∑i=1r−1piδ(G)}, where the sequence p1,p2,…,pr satisfies (1) r≥3, (2) p1≤p2≤⋯≤pr, (3) ∑i=1r−2pi≥pr−1 and (4) ∑i=1r−1pi≥pr.

Abstract:Let G"1 and G"2 be two graphs. The Kronecker productG"1xG"2 has vertex set V(G"1xG"2)=V(G"1)xV(G"2) and edge set E(G"1xG"2)={(u"1,v"1)(u"2,v"2):u"1u"2@?E(G"1) and v"1v"2@?E(G"2)}. A graph G is super connected, or simply super-@k, if every minimum separating set is the neighbors of a vertex of G, that is, every minimum separating set isolates a vertex. In this paper we show that if G is a graph with @k(G)=@d(G) and K"n(n=3) a complete graph on n vertices, except that G is a complete bipartite graph K"m","m (m=1) and K"n=K"3, then GxK"n is super-@k, where @k(G) and @d(G) are the connectivity and the minimum degree of G, respectively.
The Restricted Edge-Connectivity of Strong Product Graphs

Abstract:The restricted edge-connectivity of a connected graph $G$, denoted by $\lambda^{\prime}(G)$, if it exists, is the minimum cardinality of a set of edges whose deletion makes $G$ disconnected and each component with at least 2 vertices. It was proved that if $G$ is not a star and $|V(G)|\geq4$, then $\lambda^{\prime}(G)$ exists and $\lambda^{\prime}(G)\leq\xi(G)$, where $\xi(G)$ is the minimum edge-degree of $G$. Thus a graph $G$ is called maximally restricted edge-connected if $\lambda^{\prime}(G)=\xi(G)$; and a graph $G$ is called super restricted edge-connected if each minimum restricted edge-cut isolates an edge of $G$. The strong product of graphs $G$ and $H$, denoted by $G\boxtimes H$, is the graph with vertex set $V(G)\times V(H)$ and edge set $\{(x_1,y_1)(x_2,y_2)\ |\ x_1=x_2$ and $y_1y_2\in E(H)$; or $y_1=y_2$ and $x_1x_2\in E(G)$; or $x_1x_2\in E(G)$ and $y_1y_2\in E(H)$\}. In this paper, we determine, for any nontrivial connected graph $G$, the restricted edge-connectivity of $G\boxtimes P_n$, $G\boxtimes C_n$ and $G\boxtimes K_n$, where $P_n$, $C_n$ and $K_n$ are the path, the cycle and the complete graph on $n$ vertices, respectively. As corollaries, we give sufficient conditions for these strong product graphs $G\boxtimes P_n$, $G\boxtimes C_n$ and $G\boxtimes K_n$ to be maximally restricted edge-connected and super restricted edge-connected.

Abstract:The super edge‐connectivity λ′ of a connected graph G is the minimum cardinality of an edge‐cut F in G such that every component of G − F contains at least two vertices. Let G i be a connected graph with order n i , minimum degree δ i and edge‐connectivity λ i for i = 1, 2. This article shows that λ′( G 1 × G 2 ) ≥ min{ n 1 λ 2 , n 2 λ 1 , λ 1 + 2 λ 2 , 2 λ 1 + λ 2 } for n 1 , n 2 ≥ 3 and λ′( K 2 × G 2 ) = min{ n 2 , 2λ 2 }, which generalizes the main result of Shieh on the super edge‐connectedness of the Cartesian product of two regular graphs with maximum edge‐connectivity. In particular, this article determines λ′( G 1 × G 2 ) = min{ n 1 δ 2 , n 2 δ 1 , ξ{ G 1 × G 2 )} if λ′( G i ) = ξ( G i ), where ξ( G ) is the minimum edge‐degree of a graph G . © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Abstract:The generalized $k$-connectivity $\kappa_k(G)$ of a graph $G$, introduced by Hager in 1985, is a natural generalization of the concept of connectivity $\kappa(G)$, which is just for $k=2$. Total graph is generalized line graph and a large graph which obtained by incidence relation between vertices and edges of original graph. T. Hamada and T. Nonaka et al., in \cite{Hamada} determined the connectivity of the total graph $T(G)$ for a graph $G$. In this paper we determine the generalized $k$-(edge)-connectivity of total graph $T(G)$ for $k=3$.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a tree with $n$ vertices and $L(X)$ be its line graph. In this work, we completely characterize the trees for which the algebraic connectivity of $L(X)\times K_m$ is equal to $m-1$, where $\times$ denotes the Kronecker product. We provide a few necessary and sufficient conditions for $L(X)\times K_m$ to be Laplacian integral. The algebraic connectivity of $L(X)\times K_m$, where $X$ is a tree of diameter $4$ and $k$-book graph is discussed.

Abstract:The generalized $k$-edge-connectivity $\lambda_k(G)$ of a graph $G$ is a generalization of the concept of edge-connectivity. The lexicographic product of two graphs $G$ and $H$, denoted by $G\circ H$, is an important graph product. In this paper, we mainly study the generalized 3-edge-connectivity of $G \circ H$, and get upper and lower bounds of $\lambda_3(G \circ H)$. Moreover, all bounds are sharp.

Abstract:The symmetric difference of two graphs $G_1,G_2$ on the same set of vertices $V$ is the graph on $V$ whose set of edges are all edges that belong to exactly one of the two graphs $G_1,G_2$. For a fixed graph $H$ call a collection ${\cal G}$ of spanning subgraphs of $H$ a connectivity code for $H$ if the symmetric difference of any two distinct subgraphs in ${\cal G}$ is a connected spanning subgraph of $H$. It is easy to see that the maximum possible cardinality of such a collection is at most $2^{k'(H)} \leq 2^{\delta(H)}$, where $k'(H)$ is the edge-connectivity of $H$ and $\delta(H)$ is its minimum degree. We show that equality holds for any $d$-regular (mild) expander, and observe that equality does not hold in several natural examples including any large cubic graph, the square of a long cycle and products of a small clique with a long cycle.

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly investigate $K_{1,2}$-structure-connectivity for any connected graph. Let $G$ be a connected graph with $n$ vertices, we show that $\kappa(G; K_{1,2})$ is well-defined if $diam(G)\geq 4$, or $n\equiv 1\pmod 3$, or $G\notin \{C_{5},K_{n}\}$ when $n\equiv 2\pmod 3$, or there exist three vertices $u,v,w$ such that $N_{G}(u)\cap (N_{G}(v,w)\cup\{v,w\})=\emptyset$ when $n\equiv 0\pmod 3$. Furthermore, if $G$ has $K_{1,2}$-structure-cut, we prove $\kappa(G)/3\leq\kappa(G; K_{1,2})\leq\kappa(G)$.

Abstract:For a connected graph G, the super edge-connectivity λ′(G) is the minimum cardinality of an edge-cut F in G such that G-F contains no isolated vertices. It is a more refined index than the edge-connectivity for the fault-tolerance of the network modeled by G. This paper deals with the super edge-connectivity of product graphs G1∗G2, which is one important model in the design of large reliable networks. Let Gi be a connected graph with order νi and edge-connectivity λi for i=1,2. We show that λ′(G1∗G2)⩾min{ν1λ2,ν2λ1,λ1+2λ2,2λ1+λ2} for ν1,ν2⩾2 and deduce the super edge-connectedness of G1∗G2 when G1 and G2 are maximally edge-connected with δ(G1)⩾2,δ(G2)⩾2. Furthermore we state sufficient conditions for G1∗G2 to be λ′-optimal, that is, λ′(G1∗G2)=ξ(G1∗G2). As a consequence, we obtain the λ′-optimality of some important interconnection networks.

Abstract:The bounded edge-connectivity λk(G) of a connected graph G with respect to k(≥d(G)) is the minimum number of edges in G whose deletion from G results in a subgraph with diameter larger than k and the edge-persistence D+(G) is defined as λd(G)(G), where d(G) is the diameter of G. This paper considers the Cartesian product G1×G2, shows λk1+k2(G1×G2)≥λk1(G1)+λk2(G2) for k1≥2 and k2≥2, and determines the exact values of D+(G) for G=Cn×Pm, Cn×Cm, Qn×Pm and Qn×Cm.

Abstract:The thickness of a graph $G$ is the minimum number of planar subgraphs whose union is $G$. In this paper, we present sharp lower and upper bounds for the thickness of the Kronecker product $G\times H$ of two graphs $G$ and $H$. We also give the exact thickness numbers for the Kronecker product graphs $K_n\times K_2$, $K_{m,n}\times K_2$ and $K_{n,n,n}\times K_2$.

Abstract:The generalized $k$-connectivity of a graph $G$, denoted by $\kappa_k(G)$, is the minimum number of internally edge disjoint $S$-trees for any $S\subseteq V(G)$ and $|S|=k$. The generalized $k$-connectivity is a natural extension of the classical connectivity and plays a key role in applications related to the modern interconnection networks. The burnt pancake graph $BP_n$ and the godan graph $EA_n$ are two kinds of Cayley graphs which posses many desirable properties. In this paper, we investigate the generalized 3-connectivity of $BP_n$ and $EA_n$. We show that $\kappa_3(BP_n)=n-1$ and $\kappa_3(EA_n)=n-1$.

Abstract:Win proved a well-known result that the graph G of connectivity κ ( G ) with α ( G ) ≤ κ ( G ) + k − 1 ( k ≥ 2) has a spanning k -ended tree, i.e., a spanning tree with at most k leaves. In this paper, the authors extended the Win theorem in case when κ ( G ) = 1 to the following: Let G be a simple connected graph of order large enough such that α ( G ) ≤ k + 1 ( k ≥ 3) and such that the number of maximum independent sets of cardinality k + 1 is at most n − 2 k − 2. Then G has a spanning k -ended tree.
