Abstract:In 2020, the Commission for Dental Accreditation (CODA) approved Revised Standard 2-24k to include the teaching of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) in the predoctoral curriculums of all US dental schools by 2022. In addition, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP) developed a competency-based core curriculum framework for predoctoral education in TMDs to train future clinicians how to provide excellent evidence-based care for their patients with TMDs.
