Abstract:This literature review aims to synthesize and define three broad topics cybersecurity, stress detection, and the effects of job performance from unmanaged stress by addressing key questions and reviewing existing research and experimentation in these areas. The primary focus is on how stress can be mitigated or managed during working hours for cybersecurity specialists. To address this, the review begins by examining technological advancements and their impact. Technology is now ubiquitously accessible through laptops, smartphones, and smartwatches. It extends to smart TVs, vehicles, and public Wi-Fi hotspots, providing continuous Internet of Things (IoT) access. As technology evolves, so does the interest in understanding how human emotions interact with technology. The rise of Big Data, driven by social media, sentiment analysis, text mining, and e-commerce, has further highlighted the need to explore these interactions. Key questions addressed include how human emotions and mental health issues, such as stress and anxiety, influence individuals working in high-pressure environments. Specifically, the review explores the impact of high stress levels on the performance of cybersecurity analysts. It seeks to develop early recognition and detection systems to alert them before their job performance is significantly compromised.
