Abstract:High-quality feeding in cattle breeding is an important factor in the prevention of diseases associated with metabolic processes, which in turn affects the quality of animal products. The use of feed additives allows not only to compensate for the lack of various nutrients obtained from feed, but also to replenish the resources of the organism, which are depleted due to high productivity. One of the solutions is the inclusion of supplements containing polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet of dairy cows, one of the sources of which is linseed oil. It is known that its introduction into the diet has a positive effect on the rumen microbiome, which in turn increases the digestibility of feed, the intensity of assimilation of its components and allows to achieve higher productivity. The combination of positive factors suggests that it is possible to accelerate the recovery of animals in the postpartum period and achieve better clinical performance. For this purpose, it is possible to study clinical, morphological and biochemical indices of blood. The purpose of this experiment was to study the effect of feed additive containing linseed oil on clinical, morphological and biochemical blood parameters of dairy cows. The feed additive was introduced into the diet of cows that calved 2–4 weeks before the beginning of the experiment and was used during the next 2 months for the experimental group and was not used for the control group. According to the results of the experiment there were obtained results indicating the effectiveness of the feed additive use: blood parameters of animals that received the additive during all 2 months of the experiment were closest to the optimal values.
