Abstract:Abstract The increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is placing a significant burden on healthcare systems. Scalable digital health interventions (DHIs) have the potential to enhance rehabilitation services and post-rehabilitation care, particularly in the face of challenges posed by the growing population with NCDs and a shortage of health care professionals. The application of co-creation techniques in the development of digital health products allow them to be tailor-made for the end users. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the use of living labs. These place the user at the centre of the design process, involve different stakeholders, promote co-creation, combine different methodologies and operate in real-life settings. Therefore, we aim to provide an overview of different co-creation and living lab methodologies used in DHIs development by summarising current evidence.
