Advantages and limitations as a factor of application of teaching forms

Abstract:Forms of teaching determine the relationship between the participants in the tuition - students and teachers. In didactic theory and practice, the following forms of teaching are known: face-to-face, group work, work in pairs and individual. The theoretical frameworks of the work is focused on the requirements of modern education and upbringing, that is, on the elements of certain teaching forms that encourage emancipation, autonomy of learning, self-regulation and self-determination, as well as on the findings of previous research focused on the teacher's perception of the advantages and limitations as a factor in the application of certain forms of teaching work. The research was performed in order to examine teachers' perceptions of the advantages and limitations of certain forms of teaching work as a factor in their application in work with students, as well as the frequency of application of certain forms of teaching work in the lessons of the teachers examined, caused by their perception of their advantages and limitations. Therefore, the problem, that is, the question to which an answer is sought is: How much is the teacher's perception of the advantages and limitations of certain forms of teaching work a factor in their application in their work with students, and based on that, which form of work do the surveyed teachers most often apply? The interviewed sample consists of forty teachers in primary schools in Vršac. The sample is appropriate, because the research is of an exploratory character, which was carried out using the method of description. The technique used to gather the data was a survey technique. The findings indicate that: the teachers' perceptions of the advantages and limitations of each form of teaching work are in accordance with the advantages and limitations stated in the theoretical part of the work, that the teachers emphasize these advantages and limitations as a factor in the application of certain forms of work in teaching and that the majority of teachers in their work with children, most often applies the face-to-face teaching work based on the perception of its advantages in terms of economy and simplicity of organization of space and teaching material.
