Abstract:In this paper we have studied the problem of photovoltaic power generation near selected stars in the solar neighborhood. The nature of the optical radiation from a star will depend on its luminosity,HR classification and spectral characteristics. The solar celloperation in the habitable zones of the stars is similar to AM1.0 operation near this http URL space solar cell technology can be adopted for power generation near G,K and Mtype stars. Silicon solar cells with good near IR response are particularly suitable in theenvironments of M type stars which are most abundant in the universe. . Photovoltaicpower generation near binary stars like Sirius and Alpha Centauri is also discussed.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is a feasibility study of photovoltaic power generation near stars. Specifically, the author explores the light radiation characteristics near selected stars in the solar neighborhood and their impact on the operation of photovoltaic cells. The paper focuses on the following aspects: 1. **Power Distribution of Stellar Light Radiation**: According to the luminosity of stars, study the variation law of stellar light radiation power with distance. 2. **Matching of Stellar Spectral Characteristics and Photovoltaic Cells**: Analyze the spectral characteristics of different types of stars (such as G - type, K - type, M - type) and find photovoltaic cell materials suitable for these spectral characteristics. 3. **Radiation Effects in the Stellar Environment**: Consider the potential effects of high - energy particles and radiation on the performance of photovoltaic cells. 4. **Photovoltaic Power Generation in Binary Star Systems**: Study how the radiation of the two stars in a binary star system jointly affects the operation of photovoltaic cells. Through the above research, the paper aims to provide theoretical basis and technical guidance for using starlight as an energy source in future interstellar missions. In particular, the paper emphasizes the applicability of silicon - based solar cells in the M - type star environment, because M - type stars are the most common type of stars, and their radiation peaks are in the near - infrared region, and silicon - based solar cells have a good response to this band. In addition, the paper also discusses the impact of the special environment of binary star systems (such as Sirius and Alpha Centauri) on photovoltaic power generation.
