Abstract:I argue that ideal MHD relativistic winds are always limited in practice to asymptotic 4-velocity $\gamma_\infty \approx \sigma_0^{1/3}$ and asymptotic magnetization $\sigma \sim \sigma_0^{2/3} \gg 1$, where $\sigma_0$ is the wind magnetization with respect to the rest energy density, evaluated at the light cylinder of the rotating, magnetized compact object that drives the flow. This suggests that the observed low value of he asymptotic $\sigma$ in the equatorial sectors of the winds driving Pulsar Wind Nebulae and the associated high values of the asymptotic 4-velocity are a consequence of magentic dissipation in the wind zone.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the Tricomi problem for a mixed type equation of second order. The coefficients are assumed to be discontinuous on the line where the type is changed. The unique existence of the solution to the problem is proved if the domain is small enough. Correspondingly, some estimates on the solution is also established.

Abstract:This paper introduces general methodologies for constructing closed-form solutions to linear constant-coefficient partial differential equations (PDEs) with polynomial right-hand sides in two and three spatial dimensions. Polynomial solutions have recently regained significance in the development of numerical techniques for evaluating volume integral operators and also have potential applications in certain kinds of Trefftz finite element methods. The equations covered in this work include the isotropic and anisotropic Poisson, Helmholtz, Stokes, linearized Navier-Stokes, stationary advection-diffusion, elastostatic equations, as well as the time-harmonic elastodynamic and Maxwell equations. Several solutions to complex PDE systems are obtained by a potential representation and rely on the Helmholtz or Poisson solvers. Some of the cases addressed, namely Stokes flow, Maxwell's equations and linearized Navier-Stokes equations, naturally incorporate divergence constraints on the solution. This article provides a generic pattern whereby solutions are constructed by leveraging solutions of the lowest-order part of the partial differential operator (PDO). With the exception of anisotropic material tensors, no matrix inversion or linear system solution is required to compute the solutions. This work is accompanied by a freely-available Julia library, \texttt{ElementaryPDESolutions.jl}, which implements the proposed methodology in an efficient and user-friendly format.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper we consider Cauchy problem of time-fractional Tricomi-Keldysh type equation. Based on the theory of a Erdélyi-Kober fractional integral operator, the formal solution of the inhomogeneous differential equation involving hyper-Bessel operator is presented with Mittag-Leffler function, then nonlinear equations are considered by applying Gronwall-type inequalities. At last, we establish the existence and uniqueness of L p -solution of time-fractional Tricomi-Keldysh type equation by use of Mikhlin multiplier theorem.

Abstract:This article is concerned with the description of the entire solutions of several Fermat type partial differential-difference equations (PDDEs) [mu f(z) + lambda f(z1) (z) ](2) + [alpha f (z+c) - beta f (z)](2) = 1, and [mu f(z) + lambda(1)f(z1)(z) + lambda(2)f(z2)(z)](2) +[alpha f (z + c) - beta f(z)](2) = 1, where f(z1)(z) = partial derivative f/partial derivative z1 and f(z2)(z) = partial derivative f/partial derivative z(2), c = (c(1), c(2)) is an element of C-2, alpha, beta, mu, lambda, lambda(1), lambda(2), c(1), c(2) are constants in C. Our theorems in this paper give some descriptions of the forms of transcendental entire solutions for the above equations, which are some extensions and improvement of the previous theorems given by Xu, Cao, Liu, and Yang. In particular, we exhibit a series of examples to explain that the existence conditions and the forms of transcendental entire solutions with a finite order of such equations are precise.
The Tricomi–Neumann Problem for a Three-Dimensional Mixed-Type Equation with Singular Coefficients

Abstract:Under study is the Tricomi–Neumann problem for a three-dimensional mixed-type equation with three singular coefficients in a mixed domain consisting of a quarter of a cylinder and a triangular straight prism. We prove the unique solvability of the problem in the class of regular solutions by using the separation of variables in the hyperbolic part of the mixed domain, which yields the eigenvalue problems for one-dimensional and two-dimensional equations. Finding the eigenfunctions of the problems, we use the formula of the solution of the Cauchy–Goursat problem to construct a solution to the two-dimensional problem. In result, we find the solutions to eigenvalue problems for the three-dimensional equation in the hyperbolic part. Using the eigenfunctions and the gluing condition, we derive a nonlocal problem in the elliptic part of the mixed domain. To solve the problem in the elliptic part, we reformulate the problem in the cylindrical coordinate system and separating the variables leads to the eigenvalue problems for two ordinary differential equations. We prove a uniqueness theorem by using the completeness property of the systems of eigenfunctions of these problems and construct the solution to the problem as the sum of a double series. Justifying the uniform convergence of the series relies on some asymptotic estimates for the Bessel functions of the real and imaginary arguments. These estimates for each summand of the series made it possible to prove the convergence of the series and its derivatives up to the second order, as well as establish the existence theorem in the class of regular solutions.

The main results of the paper improve several existence results in $ \mathbb{C}^n $ for integer $ n\geq 2 $ and $ 1\leq i<j\leq n $ and their corollaries of the paper are an extension of the results of Xu \emph{et al. } for trinomial equation with arbitrary coefficient in $ \mathbb{C}^2 $. Moreover, examples are exhibited to validate the conclusion of the main results.

Abstract:A new problem is studied, that is to find nonlinear differential equations with special solutions expressed via the Weierstrass function. A method is discussed to construct nonlinear ordinary differential equations with exact solutions. The main step of our method is the assumption that nonlinear differential equations have exact solutions which are general solution of the simplest integrable equation. We use the Weierstrass elliptic equation as building block to find a number of nonlinear differential equations with exact solutions. Abstract:We prove the local existence and uniqueness of minimal regularity solutions $u$ of the semilinear generalized Tricomi equation $\partial_t^2 u-t^m \Delta u =F(u)$ with initial data $(u(0,\cdot), \partial_t u(0,\cdot)) \in \dot{H^{\gamma}}(\mathbb R^n) \times \dot{H}^{\gamma-\frac2{m+2}}(\mathbb R^n)$ under the assumption that $|F(u)|\lesssim |u|^\kappa$ and $|F'(u)| \lesssim |u|^{\kappa -1}$ for some $\kappa>1$. Our results improve previous results of M. Beals [2] and of ourselves [15-17]. We establish Strichartz-type estimates for the linear generalized Tricomi operator $\partial_t^2 -t^m \Delta$ from which the semilinear results are derived.

Abstract:We consider some non-linear non-homogeneous partial differential equations (PDEs) and derive their exact solution as a functional Taylor expansion in powers of the source term. The kind of PDEs we consider are dispersive ones where the exact solution of the corresponding homogeneous equations can have some known shape. The technique has a formal similarity with the Dyson--Schwinger set of equations to solve quantum field theories. However, there are no physical constraints. Indeed, we show that a complete coincidence with the statistical field model of a quartic scalar theory can be achieved in the Gaussian expansion of the cumulants of the partition function.

Abstract:Herein, we offer semi-analytic numerical procedures for the 1-D time-fractional Tricomi-type equation (T-FTTE). We consider the shifted Jacobi polynomials as basis functions. A novel spectral approach is implemented based on the Galerkin method to handle the Tricomi-type equation. The main advantage of this approach is, it reduces the differential problem into solving a system of algebraic equations. The proposed algorithm is successfully extended to solve the two-dimensional T-FTTE. Some numerical experiments are exhibited to illustrate the proficiency and high accuracy of the proposed method.

Abstract:We study a mixed type equation, which is analogous, in parts, to Tricomi equation and Keldysh equation. For this equation, the characteristics in the hyperbolic region are transversal to the transition locus in a subset of the locus, but is tangential to it in another subset. We propose a formulation of a closed boundary value problem for such a mixed type equation, and prove that it admits a unique H-1 solution with some higher regularity inside the domain. Our result shows the variety and the complexity of the boundary value problems for mixed-type equations.

Abstract:In this paper we establish some results about the existence and precise forms of finite order entire solutions of some systems of quadratic trinomial functional equations one of which in $\mathbb{C}^n$, $n\in\mathbb{N}$ and other two in $\mathbb{C}^2$. Our results are the generalizations and improvements of the previous theorems given by Xu-Cao \cite{Xu & Cao & 2018,Xu & Cao & 2020} and Xu-Jiang \cite{Xu Jiang RCSM 2022}. Moreover, we exhibit some examples in support of our claims.

Abstract:In this paper, we devise a new unified algebraic method to construct a series of explicit exact solutions for general nonlinear equations. Compared with most existing methods such as tanh method, Jacobi elliptic function method and homogeneous balance method, the proposed method not only gives new and more general solutions, but also provides a guideline to classify the various types of the solutions according to the values of some parameters. The solutions obtained in this paper include (a) polynomial solutions, (b) exponential solutions, (c) rational solutions, (d) triangular periodic wave solutions, (e) hyperbolic, and soliton solutions, (f) Jacobi, and Weierstrass doubly periodic wave solutions. The efficiency of the method can be demonstrated on a large variety of nonlinear equations such as those considered in this paper, combined KdV–MKdV, Camassa–Holm, Kaup–Kupershmidt, Jaulent–Miodek, (2+1)-dimensional dispersive long wave, new (2+1)-dimensional generalized Hirota, (2+1)-dimensional breaking soliton and double sine-Gordon equations. In addition, the links among our proposed method, the tanh method, the extended method and the Jacobi function expansion method are also clarified generally.

Abstract:Based on the generalized Riccati relation, an algebraic method to construct a series of exact solutions to nonlinear evolution equations is proposed. Being concise and straightforward, the method is applied to Maccari's system, and some exact solutions of the system are obtained. The method is of important significance in exploring exact solutions for other nonlinear evolution equations.

Abstract:In this paper, the Tricomi problem and the generalized Tricomi problem for a quasilinear mixed type equation are studied. The coefficients of the mixed type equation are discontinuous on the line, where the equation changes its type. The existence of solution to these problems is proved. The method developed in this paper can be used to study more difficult problems for nonlinear mixed type equations arising in gas dynamics.
