Abstract:We prove a Thullen type extension theorem of plurisubharmonic functions across a closed complete pluripolar set, which generalizes a theorem of Siu. Our approach depends on an Ohsawa-Takegoshi type extension theorem for a single point in a bounded complete Kähler domain.

Abstract:The celebrated Ohsawa--Takegoshi extension theorem for $L^2$ holomorphic functions on bounded pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb C^n$ is a fundamental result in several complex variables and complex geometry. Ohsawa conjectured in 1995 that the same theorem still holds for more general bounded complete Kähler domains in $\mathbb C^n$. Recently, Chen--Wu--Wang confirmed this conjecture in a special case. In this paper we extend their result to the case of holomorphic sections of twisted canonical bundles over relatively compact complete Kähler domains in Stein manifolds. As an application we prove a Hartogs type extension theorem for plurisubharmonic functions across a compact complete pluripolar set, which is complementary to a classical result of Shiffman and can be seen as an analogue of the Skoda--El Mir extension theorem for plurisubharmonic functions -- a result that has been vacant since at least 1985.

Abstract:The construction of sections of bundles with prescribed jet values plays a fundamental role in problems of algebraic and complex geometry. When the jet values are prescribed on a positive dimensional subvariety, it is handled by theorems of Ohsawa-Takegoshi type which give extension of line bundle valued square-integrable top-degree holomorphic forms from the fiber at the origin of a family of complex manifolds over the open unit 1-disk when the curvature of the metric of line bundle is semipositive. We prove here an extension result when the curvature of the line bundle is only semipositive on each fiber with negativity on the total space assumed bounded from below and the connection of the metric locally bounded, if a square-integrable extension is known to be possible over a double point at the origin. It is a Hensel-lemma-type result analogous to Artin’s application of the generalized implicit function theorem to the theory of obstruction in deformation theory. The motivation is the need in the abundance conjecture to construct pluricanonical sections from flatly twisted pluricanonical sections. We also give here a new approach to the original theorem of Ohsawa-Takegoshi by using the hyperbolic geometry of the punctured open unit 1-disk to reduce the original theorem of Ohsawa-Takegoshi to a simple application of the standard method of constructing holomorphic functions by solving the $$\bar \partial $$ equation with cut-off functions and additional blowup weight functions.

Abstract:In this paper, we attempt to determine the quantum cohomology of projective bundles over the projective space P^n. In contrast to the previous examples, the relevant moduli spaces in our case frequently do not have expected dimensions. It makes the calculation more difficult. We overcome this difficulty by using excessive intersection theory.

Abstract:We prove that a torsion-free sheaf $\mathcal F$ endowed with a singular hermitian metric with semi-positive curvature and satisfying the minimal extension property admits a direct-sum decomposition $\mathcal F \simeq \mathcal U \oplus \mathcal A$ where $\mathcal U$ is a hermitian flat bundle and $\mathcal A$ is a generically ample sheaf. The result applies to the case of direct images of relative pluricanonical bundles $f_* \omega_{X/Y}^{\otimes m}$ under a surjective morphism $f\colon X \to Y$ of smooth projective varieties with $m\geq 2$. This extends previous results of Fujita, Catanese--Kawamata, and Iwai.

Abstract:Given a family $$f:\mathcal{X} \to S$$ of canonically polarized manifolds, the unique Kähler–Einstein metrics on the fibers induce a hermitian metric on the relative canonical bundle $$\mathcal{K}_{\mathcal{X}/S}$$. We use a global elliptic equation to show that this metric is strictly positive on $$\mathcal{X}$$, unless the family is infinitesimally trivial.For degenerating families we show that the curvature form on the total space can be extended as a (semi-)positive closed current. By fiber integration it follows that the generalized Weil–Petersson form on the base possesses an extension as a positive current. We prove an extension theorem for hermitian line bundles, whose curvature forms have this property. This theorem can be applied to a determinant line bundle associated to the relative canonical bundle on the total space. As an application the quasi-projectivity of the moduli space $$\mathcal{M}_{\text{can}}$$ of canonically polarized varieties follows.The direct images $$R^{n-p}f_{*}\Omega^{p}_{\mathcal{X}/S}(\mathcal {K}_{\mathcal{X}/S}^{\otimes m})$$, m>0, carry natural hermitian metrics. We prove an explicit formula for the curvature tensor of these direct images. We apply it to the morphisms $$S^{p}\mathcal{T}_{S} \to R^{p}f_{*}\Lambda^{p}\mathcal{T}_{\mathcal{X}/S}$$ that are induced by the Kodaira–Spencer map and obtain a differential geometric proof for hyperbolicity properties of $$\mathcal{M}_{\text{can}}$$.

Abstract:General canonical bundle formula due to Kawamata and others has played fundamental roles in algebraic geometry. We show that the canonical bundle formula has analytic characterization in terms of fiberwise integration, which confirms a folklore conjecture. The proof uses $L^2$ metrics and the valuative equivalence of plurisubharmonic singularities. As an application, we identify the singularity of the Ohsawa measure from a general $L^2$ extension theorem of Demailly for log canonical pairs, in terms of the singularity in Kawamata's subadjunction. As another application, we give a partial answer to a question of Berndtsson on semipositivity theorems.

Abstract:We address a conjecture of Mirzakhani about the statistical behavior of certain expanding families of ``twist tori'' in the moduli space of hyperbolic surfaces, showing that they equidistribute to a certain Lebesgue-class measure along almost all sequences. We also identify a number of other expanding families of twist tori whose limiting distributions are mutually singular to Lebesgue.

Abstract:I study a special type of canonical relations given by twisted conormal bundles, construct a "subcategory" of the symplectic "category" out of these canonical relations and quantize them into semi-classical Fourier integral operators. Abstract:Given a pair of $\mathbb{Z}_2$-harmonic spinors (resp. 1-forms) on closed Riemannian 3-manifolds $(Y_1, g_1)$ and $(Y_2,g_2)$, we construct $\mathbb{Z}_2$-harmonic spinors (resp. 1-forms) on the connected sum $Y_1 \# Y_2$ and the torus sum $Y_1 \cup_{T^2} Y_2$ using a gluing argument. The main tool in the proof is a parameterized version of the Nash-Moser implicit function theorem established by Donaldson and the second author. We use these results to construct an abundance of new examples of $\mathbb Z_2$-harmonic spinors and 1-forms. In particular, we prove that for every closed 3-manifold $Y$, there exist infinitely many $\mathbb{Z}_2$-harmonic spinors with singular sets representing infinitely many distinct isotopy classes of embedded links, strengthening an existence theorem of Doan-Walpuski. Moreover, combining this with previous results, our construction implies that if $b_1(Y) > 0$, there exist infinitely many $\mathrm{spin}^c$ structures on $Y$ such that the moduli space of solutions to the two-spinor Seiberg-Witten equations is non-empty and non-compact.

Abstract:A recent theorem of Diverio–Trapani and Wu–Yau asserts that a compact Kähler manifold with a Kähler metric of quasi-negative holomorphic sectional curvature is projective and canonically polarized. This confirms a long-standing conjecture of Yau. We consider the notion of –quasi-negativity, generalizing quasi-negativity, and obtain gap-type theorems for in terms of the real bisectional curvature and weighted orthogonal Ricci curvature. These theorems are also a generalization of that results by Zhang-Zheng (arXiv:2010.01314v4 ) and Chu-Lee-Tam (Trans Am Math Soc 375(11):7925–7944, 2022).

We also compute the Connes conformal invariants for the twisted product, as well as the sub-Riemannian limits of the Connes conformal invariants for the twisted BCV spaces.

Abstract:This paper aims to investigate effectivity problems of pluricanonical systems on varieties of general type in positive characteristic. In practice, we will consider a sub-linear system $|S^0_{-}(X, K_X + nK_X)| \subseteq |H^0(X, K_X +nK_X)|$ generated by certain Frobenius stable sections, and prove that for a minimal terminal threefold $X$ of general type with either $q(X)>0$ or Gorenstein singularities, if $n\geq 28$ then $|S^0_{-}(X, K_X + nK_X)| \neq \emptyset$; if $n\geq 42$ then the linear system $|S^0_{-}(X, K_X + nK_X)|$ defines a birational map.

Consequently, we also establish a splitting theorem for compact manifolds that are both pluriclosed with parallel Bismut torsion and Calabi-Yau with torsion.

Abstract:We introduce volume forms on mapping stacks in derived algebraic geometry using a parametrized version of the Reidemeister-Turaev torsion. In the case of derived loop stacks we describe this volume form in terms of the Todd class. In the case of mapping stacks from surfaces, we compare it to the symplectic volume form. As an application of these ideas, we construct canonical orientation data for cohomological DT invariants of closed oriented 3-manifolds.
