Abstract:The Front Cover illustrates the phenomenon of the blueshift in trifurcated hydrogen bonds that occurs in X–•••H3C–Y complexes, that is, the compression instead of expansion of the H–C bonds and the rise in the vibrational frequency of their stretching mode. The Lewis base X– tetrel‐binds to the central C through a HOMO–LUMO interaction with the s*C–Y. In doing so, X– sterically clashes with the H atoms and pushes them towards C; hence, the compression and blueshift of the C–H bonds. Contrary to common belief, the departure of the leaving group Y has nothing to do with the blueshifting phenomenon. Cover design by Lucas de Azevedo Santos.
