Abstract:Let G be a graph with n vertices, let A(G) be an adjacency matrix of G and let P-A(G,lambda) be the characteristic polynomial of A(G). The adjacency spectrum of G consists of eigenvalues of A(G). A graph G is said to be determined by its adjacency spectrum (DS for short) if other graphs with the same adjacency spectrum as G are isomorphic to G. In this paper, we investigate the spectral characterization of unicycle graphs with only two vertices of degree three. We use G(21)(s(1),s(2)) to denote the graph obtained from Q(s(1),s(2)) by identifying its pendant vertex and the vertex of degree two of P-3, where Q(s(1),s(2)) is the graph obtained by identifying a vertex of C-s1 and a pendant vertex of P-s2. We use G(31)(t(1),t(2)) to denote the graph obtained from circle with the vertices v(0)v(1)...v(t1+t2+1) by adding one pendant edge at vertices v(0) and v(t1+1), respectively. It is shown that G(21)(s(1),s(2)) (s(1)not equal 4,6, s(1)>= 3, s(2)>= 3) and G(31)(t(1),t(2)) (t(1)+t(2)not equal 2, t(2)>= t(1)>= 1) are determined by their adjacency spectrum.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a method to characterize graphs determined by their adjacency spectrum. At first, we give two parameters Π1(G) and Π2(G), which are related to coefficients of the characteristic polynomial of graph G. All connected graphs with Π1(G)∈{1,0,−1,−2,−3} and Π2(G)∈{0,−1,−2,−3} are characterized. Some interesting properties of Π1(G) and Π2(G) are also given. We then find the necessary and sufficient conditions for two classes of graphs to be determined by their adjacency spectrum.

Abstract:Let G be a connected graph and D(G) be the distance matrix of G. Suppose that λ1(D)⩾λ2(D)⩾⋯⩾λn(D) are the D-eigenvalues of G. In this paper, we characterize all connected graphs with λn(D)=-2. Furthermore, we characterize all connected graphs of diameter 2 with exactly three D-eigenvalues when λ1(D) is not an integer. We also conjecture that the complete k-partite graph is determined by its D-spectrum.

Abstract:Gcd-graphs over the ring of integers modulo $n$ are a natural generalization of unitary Cayley graphs. The study of these graphs has foundations in various mathematical fields, including number theory, ring theory, and representation theory. Using the theory of Ramanujan sums, it is known that these gcd-graphs have integral spectra; i.e., all their eigenvalues are integers. In this work, inspired by the analogy between number fields and function fields, we define and study gcd-graphs over polynomial rings with coefficients in finite fields. We establish some fundamental properties of these graphs, emphasizing their analogy to their counterparts over $\mathbb{Z}.$

These graphs are naturally connected to several branches of mathematics, including number theory, finite algebra, representation theory, and graph theory. In this article, we study the perfectness property of these graphs. More precisely, we provide a complete classification of perfect unitary Cayley graphs associated with finite rings.

Abstract:The unitary addition Cayley graph $G_n$, $n\in Z^+$ is the graph whose vertex set is $Z_n$, the ring of integers modulo $n$ and two vertices $u$ and $v$ are adjacent if and only if $u + v \in \cup_n$ where $\cup_n$ is the set of all units of the ring. The $A_\alpha$-matrix of a graph $G$ is defined as $A_\alpha (G) = \alpha D(G) + (1-\alpha)A(G)$, $\alpha \in [0, 1]$, where $D(G)$ is the diagonal matrix of vertex degrees and $A(G)$ is the adjacency matrix of $G$. In this paper, we investigate the $A_\alpha$-eigenvalues for unitary addition Cayley graph and its complement. We determine bounds for $A_\alpha$-eigenvalues of unitary addition Cayley graph when its order is odd. Consequently, we compute the $A_\alpha$-energy of both $G_n$ and its complement, $\overline{G_n}$, for $n={p}^m$ where ${p}$ is a prime number and $n$ even. Moreover, we obtain some bounds for energies of $G_n$ and $\overline{G}_n$ when $n$ is odd. We also define $A_\alpha$-borderenergetic and $A_\alpha$-hyperenergetic graphs and observe some classes for each.

Abstract:We develop an equivariant theory of graphs with respect to quantum symmetries and present a detailed exposition of various examples. We portray unitary tensor categories as a unifying framework encompassing all finite classical simple graphs, (quantum) Cayley graphs of finite (quantum) groupoids, and all finite-dimensional quantum graphs. We model a quantum set by a finite-index inclusion of C*-algebras and use the quantum Fourier transform to obtain all possible adjacency operators. In particular, we show every finite-index subfactor can be regarded as a complete quantum graph and describe how to find all its subgraphs. As applications, we prove a version of Frucht's Theorem for finite quantum groupoids, and introduce a version of path spaces for quantum graphs.

Unitary Easy Quantum Groups Arising as Quantum Symmetries of Graph C*-algebras

Abstract:In 2009, T. Banica and R. Speicher introduced the orthogonal easy quantum group which can be completely determined using the combinatorics of set partitions. Later, P. Tarrago and M. Weber extended this formulation to another special class of compact matrix quantum groups, known as unitary easy quantum groups, which are quantum subgroups of the free unitary quantum group ($U_n^+$) containing $S_n$. On the other hand, the quantum symmetry of graph $C^{*}$-algebras has been explored by several mathematicians within different categories in the past few years. In this article, we establish that there are exactly three families of (identically) unitary easy quantum groups that can be achieved as the quantum symmetries of graph $C^*$-algebras $C^*(\Gamma)$ associated with some finite, connected, directed graphs $\Gamma$ in the category introduced by Joardar and Mandal. Moreover, we demonstrate that there does not exist any graph $C^*$-algebra associated with a finite, connected, directed graph $\Gamma$ having $A_{U^t}(F^{\Gamma})$ as the quantum automorphism group of $C^*(\Gamma)$ for non-scalar matrix $F^{\Gamma}$.

Spectral theory of $p$-adic unitary operator

Abstract:The $p$-adic unitary operator $U$ is defined as an invertible operator on $p$-adic ultrametric Banach space such that $\left |U\right |=\left |U^{-1}\right |=1$. We point out $U$ has a spectral measure valued in $\textbf{projection functors}$, which can be explained as the measure theory on the formal group scheme. The spectrum decomposition of $U$ is complete when $\psi$ is a $p$-adic wave function. We study $\textbf{the Galois theory of operators}$. The abelian extension theory of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ is connected to the topological properties of the $p$-adic unitary operator. We classify the $p$-adic unitary operator as three types: $\textbf{Teichmüller type}, \textbf{continuous type}, \textbf{pro-finite type}$. Finally, we establish a $\textbf{framework of $p$-adic quantum mechanics}$, where projection functor plays a role of quantum measurement.

A note on graphs with purely imaginary per-spectrum

Abstract:In 1983, Borowiecki and Jóźwiak posed the problem ``Characterize those graphs which have purely imaginary per-spectrum.'' This problem is still open. The most general result, although a partial solution, was given in 2004 by Yan and Zhang, who show that if $G$ is a bipartite graph containing no subgraph which is an even subdivision of $K_{2,3}$, then it has purely imaginary per-spectrum. Zhang and Li in 2012 proved that such graphs are planar and admit a Pfaffian orientation. In this article, we describe how to construct graphs with purely imaginary per-spectrum having a subgraph which is an even subdivision of $K_{2,3}$ (planar and nonplanar) using coalescence of rooted graphs.

Spectral Theory of Isogeny Graphs

Abstract:We consider finite graphs whose vertexes are supersingular elliptic curves, possibly with level structure, and edges are isogenies. They can be applied to the study of modular forms and to isogeny based cryptography. The main result of this paper is an upper bound on the modules of the eigenvalues of their adjacency matrices, which in particular implies that these graphs are Ramanujan. We also study the asymptotic distribution of the eigenvalues of the adjacency matrices, the number of connected components, the automorphisms of the graphs, and the connection between the graphs and modular forms.

Abstract:For any positive definite rational quadratic form $q$ of $n$ variables let $G(\mathbb{Q}^n, q)$ denote the graph with vertices $\mathbb{Q}^n$ and $x, y \in \mathbb{Q}^n$ connected iff $q(x - y) = 1$. This notion generalises standard Euclidean distance graphs. In this article we study these graphs and show how to find the exact value of clique number of the $G(\mathbb{Q}^n, q)$. We also prove rational analogue of the Beckman--Quarles theorem that any unit-preserving mapping of $\mathbb{Q}^n$ is an isometry.

Boundary Conditions Matter: On The Spectrum Of Infinite Quantum Graphs

Abstract:We study the interplay between spectrum, geometry and boundary conditions for two distinguished self-adjoint realisations of the Laplacian on infinite metric graphs, the so-called Friedrichs and Neumann extensions. We introduce a new criterion for compactness of the resolvent and apply this to identify a transition from purely discrete to non-empty essential spectrum among a class of infinite metric graphs, a phenomenon that seems to have no known counterpart for Laplacians on Euclidean domains of infinite volume. In the case of discrete spectrum we then prove upper and lower bounds on eigenvalues, thus extending a number of bounds previously only known in the compact setting to infinite graphs. Some of our bounds, for instance in terms of the inradius, are new even on compact graphs.

Abstract:This paper shows that the integral equivariant cohomology Chern numbers completely determine the equivariant geometric unitary bordism classes of closed unitary $G$-manifolds, which gives an affirmative answer to the conjecture posed by Guillemin--Ginzburg--Karshon in [20, Remark H.5, $\S3$, Appendix H], where $G$ is a torus. As a further application, we also obtain a satisfactory solution of [20, Question (A), $\S1.1$, Appendix H] on unitary Hamiltonian $G$-manifolds. Our key ingredients in the proof are the universal toric genus defined by Buchstaber--Panov--Ray and the Kronecker pairing of bordism and cobordism. Our approach heavily exploits Quillen's geometric interpretation of homotopic unitary cobordism theory. Moreover, this method can also be applied to the study of $({\Bbb Z}_2)^k$-equivariant unoriented bordism and can still derive the classical result of tom Dieck.
Symmetry in complex unit gain graphs and their spectra

Abstract:Complex unit gain graphs may exhibit various kinds of symmetry. In this work, we explore structural symmetry, spectral symmetry and sign-symmetry in such graphs, and their respective relations to one-another. Our main result is a construction that transforms an arbitrary complex unit gain graph into infinitely many switching-distinct ones whose spectral symmetry does not imply sign-symmetry. This provides a more general answer to the analogue of an existence question that was recently treated in the context of signed graphs.

Abstract:A graph is called integral if its eigenvalues are integers. In this article, we provide the necessary and sufficient conditions for a Cayley graph over a finite symmetric algebra $R$ to be integral. This generalizes the work of So who studies the case where $R$ is the ring of integers modulo $n.$ We also explain some number-theoretic constructions of finite symmetric algebras arising from global fields, which we hope could pave the way for future studies on Paley graphs associated with a finite Hecke character.
