Abstract:A description of right (left) quasi-duo Z-graded rings is given. It shows, in particular, that a strongly Z-graded ring is left quasi-duo if and only if it is right quasi-duo. This gives a partial answer to a problem posed by Dugas and Lam in [1].

Abstract:In this article we give a characterization of left (right) quasi-duo differential polynomial rings. In particular, we show that a differential polynomial ring is left quasi-duo if and only if it is right quasi-duo. This yields a partial answer to a question posed by Lam and Dugas in 2005. We provide non-trivial examples of such rings and give a complete description of the maximal ideals of an arbitrary quasi-duo differential polynomial ring. Moreover, we show that there is no left (right) quasi-duo differential polynomial ring in several indeterminates.

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the duo ring property via quasinilpotent elements which gives a new kind of generalizations of commutativity. We call this kind of ring qnil-duo. Firstly, some properties of quasinilpotents in a ring are provided. Then the set of quasinilpotents is applied to the duo property of rings, in this perspective, we introduce and study right (resp., left) qnil-duo rings. We show that this concept is not left-right symmetric. Among others it is proved that if the Hurwitz series ring $H(R; \alpha)$ is right qnil-duo, then $R$ is right qnil-duo. Every right qnil-duo ring is abelian. A right qnil-duo exchange ring has stable range 1.

Abstract:A characterization of right (left) quasi-duo skew polynomial rings of endomorphism type and skew Laurent polynomial rings are given. In particular, it is shown that (1) the polynomial ring R[x] is right quasi-duo iff R[x] is commutative modulo its Jacobson radical iff R[x] is left quasi-duo, (2) the skew Laurent polynomial ring is right quasi-duo iff it is left quasi-duo. These extend some known results concerning a description of quasi-duo polynomial rings and give a partial answer to the question posed by Lam and Dugas whether right quasi-duo rings are left quasi-duo.

Abstract:Quasi-hereditary algebras are introduced by Cline, Parshall and Scott in order to study highest weight categories in the representation theory of Lie algebras and algebraic groups (see [CPS]). These algebras seem to become a very interesting class of algebras.Let A be a quasi-hereditary k-algebras over an algebraically closed field Ic. C.M.Ringel constructed in [R2] a new quasi-hereditary algebra R(A) from the given quasi-hereditary algebra A, his construction of R(A) from A has the property R(R(A)) congruent to A for any basic quasi-hereditary algebra A. The module: used in his construction is in fact a generalized tilting module and of special interest in the representation theory of algebaic groups (see [D] and [E]). Following [E] we call the algebra R(A) the Ringel dual of A.Suppose a quasi-hereditary algebra A is given by a quiver with relations. How to determine the quiver of R(A) and its relations seems to be a very difficult question. However, in this paper we try to study the Ringel duals for dual extension algebras, defined in [X], of incidence algebras of posets of tree type and to describe quivers of their Ringel duals. The main result of this paper is an explicite description of the quivers of the Ringel duals of these algebras and implies in particular that the quivers of R(A) are bipartite.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the definition of groupoid graded rings. Group graded rings, (skew) groupoid rings, artinian semisimple rings, matrix rings and others can be regarded as special kinds of groupoid graded rings. Our main task is to classify strongly groupoid graded rings by cohomology of groupoids. Some classical results about group graded rings are generalized to groupoid graded rings. In particular, the Clifford Theorem for a strongly groupoid graded ring is given.

Abstract:Let G be a group and A a G-graded quasi-hereditary algebra. Then its characteristic module is proved to be G-gradable, i.e., it is isomorphic to a G-graded module as A-modules. This implies that the Ringel dual A' of A admits a canonical G-grading which extends to the graded situation the typical equivalence between A-good and V-good modules of A and A', respectively. It follows some consequences: the derived category of finitely generated G-graded A-modules is equivalent to the derived category of finitely generated G-graded X-modules; if G is finite, then the Ringel dual of the smash product A#G* is isomorphic to the smash product A'#G* of A' with G.
Groupoid Graded Semisimple Rings

Abstract:We develop the theory of groupoid graded semisimple rings. Our rings are neither unital nor one-sided artinian. Instead, they exhibit a strong version of having local units and being locally artinian, and we call them $\Gamma_0$-artinian. One of our main results is a groupoid graded version of the Wedderburn-Artin Theorem, where we characterize groupoid graded semisimple rings as direct sums of graded simple $\Gamma_0$-artinian rings and we exhibit the structure of this latter class of rings. In this direction, we also prove a groupoid graded version of Jacobson-Chevalley density theorem. We need to define and study properties of groupoid gradings on matrix rings (possibly of infinite size) over groupoid graded rings, and specially over groupoid graded division rings. Because of that, we study groupoid graded division rings and their graded modules. We consider a natural notion of freeness for groupoid graded modules that, when specialized to group graded rings, gives the usual one, and show that for a groupoid graded division ring all graded modules are free (in this sense). Contrary to the group graded case, there are groupoid graded rings for which all graded modules are free according to our definition, but they are not graded division rings. We exhibit an easy example of this kind of rings and characterize such class among groupoid graded semisimple rings. We also relate groupoid graded semisimple rings with the notion of semisimple category defined by B. Mitchell. For that, we show the link between functors from a preadditive category to abelian groups and graded modules over the groupoid graded ring associated to this category, generalizing a result of P. Gabriel. We characterize simple artinian categories and categories for which every functor from them to abelian groups is free in the sense of B. Mitchell.

Abstract:In this note we first study regular $\mathbb{Z}$-graded local rings. We characterize commutative noetherian regular $\mathbb{Z}$-graded local rings in similar ways as in the usual local case. The characterization by the length of (homogeneous) regular sequences fails in the graded case in general. Then, we characterize graded isolated singularity for commutative $\mathbb{Z}$-graded semilocal algebra in terms of the global dimension of its associated noncommutative projective scheme. As a corollary, we obtain that a commutative affine $\mathbb{N}$-graded algebra generated in degree $1$ is a graded isolated singularity if and only if its associated projective scheme is smooth; if and only if the category of coherent sheaves on its projective scheme has finite global dimension, which are known in literature.

Abstract:In this work we study the classes of epsilon and nearly epsilon-strongly graded rings by a group $G$. In particular, we extend Dade's theorem to the realm of nearly epsilon-strongly graded rings. Moreover, we introduce the category SIM$S-$gr of symmetrically graded modules and use it to present a new characterization of strongly graded rings. A functorial approach is used to obtain a characterization of epsilon-strongly graded rings. Finally, we determine conditions for which an epsilon-strongly graded ring can be written as a direct sum of strongly graded rings and a trivially graded ring.

Lie, associative and commutative quasi-isomorphism

Abstract:Over a field of characteristic zero, we show that two commutative differential graded (dg) algebras are quasi-isomorphic if and only if they are quasi-isomorphic as associative dg algebras. This answers a folklore problem in rational homotopy theory, showing that the rational homotopy type of a space is determined by its associative dg algebra of rational cochains. We also show a Koszul dual statement, under an additional completeness hypothesis: two homotopy complete dg Lie algebras whose universal enveloping algebras are quasi-isomorphic as associative dg algebras must themselves be quasi-isomorphic. The latter result applies in particular to nilpotent Lie algebras (not differential graded), in which case it says that two nilpotent Lie algebras whose universal enveloping algebras are isomorphic as associative algebras must be isomorphic.

Abstract:We associate lattices to the sets of unions and intersections of left and right quotients of a regular language. For both unions and intersections, we show that the lattices we produce using left and right quotients are dual to each other. We also give necessary and sufficient conditions for these lattices to have maximal possible complexity.

Differential Geometry and its Applications

Abstract:In this paper we discuss the categorical properties of Z -graded manifolds. We start by describing the local model paying special attention to the differences in comparison to the N -graded case. In particular we explain the origin of formality for the functional space and spell-out the structure of the power series. Then we make this construction intrinsic using a new type of filtrations. This sums up to proper definitions of objects and morphisms in the category. We also formulate the analog of the Borel's lemma for the functional spaces on Z -graded manifolds and the analogue of Batchelor's theorem for the global structure of them.

Abstract:We obtain criteria for when a ring with enough idempotents is left/right artinian or noetherian in terms of local criteria defined by the associated complete set of idempotents for the ring. We apply these criteria to object unital category graded rings in general and, in particular, to the class of skew category algebras. Thereby, we generalize results by Nastasescu-van Oystaeyen, Bell, Park, and Zelmanov from the group graded case to groupoid, and in some cases category, gradings.

On the rings whose injective right modules are max-projective

Abstract:Recently, the rings whose injective right modules are R-projective (respectively, max-projective) were investigated and studied in [2]. Such ring are called right almost-QF (respectively, max-QF). In this paper, our aim is to give some further characterization of these rings over more general classes of rings, and address several questions about these rings. We obtain characterizations of max-QF rings over several classes of rings including local, semilocal right semihereditary, right nonsingular right noetherian and right nonsingular right finite dimensional rings. We prove that for a ring R being right almost-QF and right max-QF are not left-right symmetric. We also show that right almost-QF and right max-QF rings are not closed under factor rings. This leads to consider the rings all of whose factor rings are almost-QF and max-QF.

Abstract:The concept of group-graded weakly regular ring is introduced.On this basis,it is proved that:(1)If G is a group,J is a graded ideal of K,J_σ=K_σ∩J,then K is a group-graded weakly regular ring if and only if J and K/J are group-graded weakly regular rings;(2)If K is a ring,n is a positive integer,then K is a group-graded weakly regular ring if and only if M_n(K) is a group-graded weakly regular ring.If K is a group-graded weakly regular ring,then K_e is a subring of K,and 1∈K_e(e is the unit of group).Some relations are given on group-graded weakly regular ring K and K_e.Next,the concept of graded semiflat module is introduced and proved that K is a group-graded weakly regular ring if and only if all right K-module is graded semiflat module.Group-graded weakly regular rings are the generalization of group-graded regular rings,so the result of group-graded regular rings are similiar.

Abstract:We consider the first Weyl algebra, A, in the Euler gradation, and completely classify graded rings B that are graded equivalent to A: that is, the categories gr-A and gr-B are equivalent. This includes some surprising examples: in particular, we show that A is graded equivalent to an idealizer in a localization of A. We obtain this classification as an application of a general Morita-type characterization of equivalences of graded module categories.

On split quasi-hereditary covers and Ringel duality

Abstract:In this paper, we develop two new homological invariants called relative dominant dimension with respect to a module and relative codominant dimension with respect to a module. These are used to establish precise connections between Ringel duality, split quasi-hereditary covers and double centraliser properties. These homological invariants are studied over Noetherian algebras which are finitely generated and projective as a module over the ground ring and they are shown to behave nicely under change of rings techniques. It turns out that relative codominant dimension with respect to a summand of a characteristic tilting module is a useful tool to construct quasi-hereditary covers of Noetherian algebras and measure their quality. In particular, this homological invariant is used to construct split quasi-hereditary covers of quotients of Iwahori-Hecke algebras using Ringel duality of $q$-Schur algebras. Combining techniques of cover theory with relative dominant dimension theory we obtain a new proof for Ringel self-duality of the blocks of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category $\mathcal{O}$.
